@@halvarianknight4477 Nah, DS3 is at least fast. The hardest part about DS2 for me was learning to wait and be patient before pressing the next button in the combo. DS1 is definitely the hardest though.
Dude the amount of Alonne knights between the first bonfire in Iron Keep and the Smelter Demon is insane. Did a SotFS play through recently. Hadn’t played the game in years and it was previously only on the 360 version. Got to that area and was like “I don’t remember this many knights being here.”
I have a deep love of Dark Souls 2 as it was the souls game that really sucked me in and got me into my Gitting Gud and Self Improvment mentality. I didn't die because of lag or some other excuse. I died because my ADP wasn't high enough and I mistimed my rolls. Seeing the game 'broken' in such an interesting way was a WONDERFUL experience. I eagerly await every single one of your videos. They are like the weirdest most entertaining things ever!
After years of watching this, I finally decided to give this a try as a challenge run; it's actually pretty fun! I'd say the worst part, was figuring out a proper Soul farming method, to maintain the amount of items I had. Easiest method I found was to farm the 5 guys outside of Straid's cell, by using Bonfire Ascetics to push the area to NG+5 or higher, then just killing them over and over again, in Covenant of Champions. That took a lot of stress off the run, although it takes a LOT of Souls; so far, over a million of my Souls are just from item restocks. Also, I remembered to get the Engraved Gloves right away, but they only seem to trigger with knives, and so rarely, that at first I didn't even think they worked. The Iron Keep is the most stressful area so far, because the Alonne Knights are tanky, usually requiring 6 knives or 3 hex pots. So, getting through that area got really expensive, as I had to slowly permanently kill enemies so that I wouldn't waste items on my deaths against the Smelter Demon. So, that area alone probably cost me half a million Souls in restocks. I just started Shrine of Amana, but not expecting too much difficulty. Most of Ymfah's run seems a bit over exaggerated (Lost Sinner isn't that bad if you bother to actually light furnace before fighting her :P), and progressing isn't too hard, as long as you don't rush and take out enemies (same can be said about non-challenge runs too; people think this game is way harder than it is). Hardest enemy I fought so far, is the secret Black Pursuer that spawns behind Straid's Cell. I've beaten the other Pursuers, but for some reason, this one gives me trouble and always seems to pull off some kind of BS one hit kill right before I can land the final blow (even though I have 1200 HP and fully upgraded armor). Other than that, lots of fun pelting Bosses with bombs!
@@yaboisigismund6840 I got to the end of the Shrine of Amara without much trouble, but then ended up getting distracted by other games. Outside the grinding for buying items, it was a pretty fun playthrough.
also my god this video is a masterpiece definitely some of your best work I mean there's so much attention to detail when it comes to the memes and background music its incredible. my 2 favorite parts of the video are when you escalate the mario sunshine music from regular to all-star to megalovania as the difficulty increased and when you did the fake out with the way-hey-hey it was so good. Sometimes it might seem like such editing effort for jokes people might not even notice could not be worth it but I assure you it is and people do notice, or atleast I do. love the video keep up the good work
It makes me so sad to think of how From completely destroyed lightning damage and Faith builds in general in DS 2 and 3... Like come on, guys I just want to be a holy man
Lightning damage wise is still ok in DS2 even on early builds compared to how shit it is in DS3, you just get way less spears and have to buy like 7-8 copies of the spell from Licia and get like 30 atunement to get the the point of having 20+ spears we had at launch. They were super OP at launch so forcing you to spend 15 or so levels in attunement to get to the same point as 1.0 spears seems reasonable.
@@lunarbreeze5019 I dunno 2 spears for like 25 Faith and god knows how much attunement and duplicate spears to have an okay amount, plus the fact that they deal honestly sh*t for damage against most bosses... i mean look at magic and pyromancy - you can have a viable build with both of those right off the bat, but Faith just takes so long to get going and many of its better spells are locked in late-game (Velstadt's soul for Sacred Oath, Sunlight Blade is in Shrine of Amana or bought off Straid, etc.) Its just... disappointing, and kills my motivation to even try. Don't get me wrong, DS3 Faith is still uber-terrible, but I think DS2 is worse - mostly because in 3 it feels as though Faith was meant for pure-support, not really damage.
@@Jonaegh If you ever feel like having some glorious faith gameplay in DkS 3 check out the "Cinders" mod for it. Has a Nexus page, it's own website and stuff. Good support too, dude (or dudes, Idk) been working on it for quite some time. Anyway, my point: It's not some stupid "you got ultra powerful and faceroll the game lmoa" mod but it rebalances some numbers, introduces some spells of its own and some from prior/later games. Good stuff.
DS3 Faith is broken OP. 800 AR Saint's Bident at SL 125... people think I'm cheating. I often get hatemail for 2-shotting them. Then you pull out the infinite hold Lightning Arrow, and just hold it and release it at random when your enemies are close for guaranteed roll catches free of danger. It's cancer. Pure unfiltered cancer that needs a nerf. Making the hold cost stamina/fp would fix it.

Mechanically, the Deacons of DS2 would be Rat Vanguard, and they're actually a threat because of how fast petrification can build up and the tight room + statues can really fuck you over if you have a big weapon unlike the joke boss that is Deacons in DS3.
Lunar Breeze Except DS3’s deacons can be actually a threat to a newcomer without having such cheap trick as preventing you from even hitting right, thanks to the second phase’s curse build up and the number of enemy using both ranged attacks and knock up attack. Oh and also deacons of the deep actually have a good place in the lore and ground the world, instead of having an abysmal health pool and being just a bunch of rat in a tight space.
@@lunarbreeze5019 A threat? Are you implying you were ever once in danger of dying or actually did so against that boss? Even for a DS2 boss, that was a pushover. Why are you simping for the worst, most inexcusable boss in the series? @@nathanjora7627 i don't know man, the deacons are pretty cheap too in that the curse build up is kinda bullshit and how sometimes they can all attack you at once and just kill you. As for lore on the rats, its better than the decons. And fits pretty well with the world of ds2 sotfs instead of being another reference to ds1. soulslore.wikidot.com/data:rat-king Have a read. Seems to be more fulfilling and interesting as compared to the deacons. Only downside is his trials kinda suck (rat authority and rat swarm) as lorewise they were supposed to test you. Both kinda suck but are definitely fun to take out because you feel overpowered as hell.
@@syzerix3157 "I don't know man, the deacons are pretty cheap too in that the curse build up is kinda bullshit " ... How is that bullshit ? The guys live on top of a giant pile of cursed stuff, and their saint is a bloated fleshy mess that ate a god, how them being able to create cursebuild up doesn't make sense ? I'd say that rats that for some reason can petrify you is much more bullshit, especially when they do so throughout the fight and about as fast, although at least I guess you could say it's not automatic. "and how sometimes they can all attack you at once and just kill you." ... Yeah, that's the point of the thing, you have to both pressure the group and deal DPS on the main guy before the curse build up, or you have to focus only on the main guy to make things faster, but then you risk being overrun. I'd agree that it's still pretty cheap, but it's not *as* cheap as outright preventing you to take down the mobs that can kill you. "And fits pretty well with the world of ds2 sotfs instead of being another reference to ds1." ... The deacons aren't a reference to DS1 though :I There is nothing even close to the church of the deep or the deacons in DS1. As for rats fitting in DS2... No they don't. Speaking giant rats that for some reason developed a civilization and somehow managed to build things, that's nonsense, in DS2 or elsewhere. And for hell's sake, just because it's "not a reference to DS1" doesn't mean it's original or good >< "Seems to be more fulfilling and interesting as compared to the deacons." ... How ? Again, the deacons actually have a place in the world, they have a reason to be there, it makes sense, the rats are there for no reason, built a civilisation out of nowhere, and despite having supposedly struck a deal with a human king and have fought a war against them, there is no connection to that elsewhere. It's obviously just made up nonsense that wasn't thought through to connect with everything. On the contrary, the deacons are connected to Aldrich, pontiff, the way of white, the old gods, the abyss, and their involvement actually makes sense. I don't know what you mean by "more fulfilling", but unless your standards are very low or incoherent, I don't see how they could possibly less interesting than a freakin rat. "Both kinda suck but are definitely fun to take out because you feel overpowered as hell." ... No. First of all : no, they are fun to take out *for you*, many many other people didn't have any fun with them for example due to how repetitive and cheap the fight against both of those are, although in different ways. Second of all : why would I feel overpowered ? I may feel OP when I kill Yhorm with only a couple of swings of Stormruler, because Yhorm is very tough in terms of HP, and because stormruler has this special effect and all, but why would I feel op for being able to take out a couple of rats ? And it's even worse for Authority, since although the mobs before the boss *can* be taken out fairly easily, they also *can* kill you super fast.

Time to watch another masterpiece from the man himself
Dad: if you don't have cable what do you watch?
Me: you wouldn't understand
"Watching some dude control another dude throwing shitof other people at said people"
After years of watching this, I finally decided to give this a try as a challenge run; it's actually pretty fun!
It’s been a year bruv, how did the run go?
@@yaboisigismund6840 I got to the end of the Shrine of Amara without much trouble, but then ended up getting distracted by other games. Outside the grinding for buying items, it was a pretty fun playthrough.

Good stuff.
@@JinFreeks Sounds very interesting! I'll have to check it out sometime
DS3 Faith is broken OP. 800 AR Saint's Bident at SL 125... people think I'm cheating. I often get hatemail for 2-shotting them.

23:42 Deacons of the Deep? YYou missed your chance to call them Deacons of the Cheap...
You're actually going to make the argument that a copy and pasted rat with a mohawk is a superior boss to the Deacons of The Deep?
@@nathanjora7627 i don't know man, the deacons are pretty cheap too in that the curse build up is kinda bullshit and how sometimes they can all attack you at once and just kill you. As for lore on the rats, its better than the decons. And fits pretty well with the world of ds2 sotfs instead of being another reference to ds1.
soulslore.wikidot.com/data:rat-king
Have a read. Seems to be more fulfilling and interesting as compared to the deacons. Only downside is his trials kinda suck (rat authority and rat swarm) as lorewise they were supposed to test you.
Both kinda suck but are definitely fun to take out because you feel overpowered as hell.
@@syzerix3157 "I don't know man, the deacons are pretty cheap too in that the curse build up is kinda bullshit "
"and how sometimes they can all attack you at once and just kill you."
"And fits pretty well with the world of ds2 sotfs instead of being another reference to ds1."
... The deacons aren't a reference to DS1 though :I
There is nothing even close to the church of the deep or the deacons in DS1.
As for rats fitting in DS2... No they don't. Speaking giant rats that for some reason developed a civilization and somehow managed to build things, that's nonsense, in DS2 or elsewhere.
And for hell's sake, just because it's "not a reference to DS1" doesn't mean it's original or good ><
"Seems to be more fulfilling and interesting as compared to the deacons."
"Both kinda suck but are definitely fun to take out because you feel overpowered as hell."
