i can see the skate paddle being cool if it is marketed towards specifically, the long-boarders who also paddle board and surf, and i can see the bumper dams being useful in theory, to push wheel-stopping pebbles out of the way for a newbie or someone who has poor balance to begin with to help them, until they can develop better balance , then work on navigating debris and small obstacles.
a good alternative to the summerboard is the freeboard or better yet the freeboard 5x as it is much cheaper and supposedly feels more like a snowboard, the only downside is that it is not electric and would be ridden more like a longboard.
I can honestly see a niche market for skateboard paddles: I just recovered from a knee injury, and I'm still being really careful about how much pressure I use on it, and on my stance/posture to keep from adding stress to it. I see the skate paddle as a good way for boarders to get by when they've hurt their knee whilst skating, or older skaters who are developing lower joint issues but don't want to give up the board. Definitely not an average skater's everyday use- but could be helpful to people who are feeling the effects of age, or really messed their knee up from a noncommittal attempt at a difficult trick which hurts your knee. Just sayin.
I was never in the skater crowd or doing tricks. I got a ripstick mini as a kid and a longboard later in life. In my mind they're just alternative products with a different purposes. I love the comfortable and easy of use for linger commutes.
personaly I think the snowboard-skateboard hybrid is useful for people who dont really want to trick around with their board or people who just want to ride around in groups, It's not as stressful for the muscels so in my opinion its okay, if you just want to ride around the city. still, a bit pricy so ye
I feel that I was attacked a little bit here😝. I can’t, for the life of me, ride a skateboard for any longer than five seconds, but I find it early easy riding a rip stick. 🤣🤣🤣
I have a morf board. The deck is gardage and heavy, but the trucks are amazing. Great bearings and wheels. So i took the trucks and slapped them on a regular deck and it worked beautifully.
I have something like the summer board or what’re but it’s shaped like a snow board and it has the coaster wheels too it’s rlly hard to ride when I was six
Riding a ripstick, or as the oldies remember, wave boards, is much harder than skateboarding. But they're not meant to be used as skateboards. They're made to just cruise around.
I owned a pair of suspension trucks. They deff gave u more pop idk what u mean. Also they did feel smoother rolling and grinded faster. Heavy tho u right. Only stopped skating them bc i started to prefer tight trucks and those feel constantly bouncy
On the skateboard paddle. After years of skating I have a pretty strong lower body but my arms are still noodles. I always felt like skateboard paddles could be a good way to get some upper body in while still doing the thing you love. 🤷
For ripstiks, I read somewhere they are good for simulating snowboarding. I’ve never been snowboarding so I can’t attest to the similarities, but that shit is still fun af to carve around on
in 90 my dad used to cut small parts of suede to a form of the shoe tip, then he used to make holes for laces. it is placed between the laces and the shoe
this video is like my teenage kids texts. dont need your thought bursts every 2 seconds 🤣 just do the video ..and perhaps ponder the importance of community and non digital communication now and again 😅
I remember when I was a kid there was some shoe company that made shoes for sliding down rails, I wanted them sooo bad. Looking back on it now, it seemed like a dumb idea and I don't blame my parents for never buying me a pair.
Saying the ripstik sucks because it’s not a skateboard is like a snowboarder saying “yeahhh man skateboards are neat n stuff but they are just ripoff snowboards” and a surfer going “yeahhhh snowboards are cool and stuff but they are just ripoff surfboards” this guy is completely ignorant and ripstiks are not just a “toy for kids” anyone can use them and they are awesome, this is coming from someone who skates longboards, skateboards, ripstiks, snowboards, and surf boards, ripstiks are awesome!
not many people do ALL of that. so for someone who really wants to use skateboards, the video is saying ripstixks are not like skateboards exactly. or much. and they're right. and they really were overpriced back when I wanted to buy one for my son. for what it was. everything is fun. shit I had fun with my sons kneeboard. the video didn't say that it was a pos. just that it wasnt a skateboard. for those who actually want to get a skateboard but may get sold on all the things that try to compare itself to one
I bought a paddle for my longboard just because I have a heavy permanent injury on my right ankle that really limits how much I can use my right leg to push myself long distance so for a regular skater the paddle might be useles but for injured or limited skaters like myself it's a god send I don't have to stop doing what I love wich is cruising along and skate with my son tricks and hill bombing are out of the menu for me after the Injury but at least I'm still on my board
Probably that your arms are otherwise hanging limp by your side and could be put to good use by adding power in addition to your legs. That's probably what they were thinking.
I had a friend who was kind of an entrepreneur… some successes… some fails… his BIGGEST fail was buying 300 hoverboards in 2011 thinking they were only available in China. Whoops.
i gotta say tho, ripsticks were awesome. of course as a skateboard replacement its completely dumb, but i had so much fun just cruising around with my friends
Tbh it was easier for me but that’s definitely BC I started skating way before I tried the rip stick a bit (still skate more btw) and the rip stick was easier
I'm an old man. 37 years of skateboarding. We used to take scraps of old bicycle tubes slap them on the ollie area with shoe goo and stitch around the outside of it when our shoes wore down. It takes a bit of work, but you'll get at least another month out of your shoes.
@@mikecynic5167 That's amazing. I was never able to ever skate, though I was always around folks that did so I would help out taking pics or gluing scraps of cloth to their shoes. I think I'll finally give it a go when I have the money though I'm still really worried since I do have a blood condition. Though the thing that gave me that push to actually do it now was a social media post of a dude with the same condition I have that skated all his life, not super insane things but miner tricks and the like. I'll definitely keep your idea written in my notes! thanks!
I wrote a comic called devil pebble when I was 14. It was about a bad ass skater punk who battled it out all the time with devil pebble skater punks arch rival and enemy who was out to destroy skater punk with his clan of street pebbles as well as other's who skate. I only made like 1 drew up 1 copy but it was supposed to be ongoing but i never kept up with it. That is hilarious I reckon you would get laughed at for having that contraption on your board😂😂
I actually got my Ripstick over 2 years ago, I paid 30 euros, waited like half a week and the only thing damaged is the back wheel but it didn't break, it's just "well used"
I don't remember the name of the company but back in the 90s, a truck company came out with tricks that instead of the wheels being held on with a nut, they were held on with a C clip, which constantly fell off and you had to carry extras with you, the didn't last long in the market.
instead of the rubber shoe cover, buy some non abrasive grip tape for just like 10-15 bucks and works the same as normal, just don't get it too dirty or it won't work and is totally a better option at saving your shoes.

i can see the skate paddle being cool if it is marketed towards specifically, the long-boarders who also paddle board and surf, and i can see the bumper dams being useful in theory, to push wheel-stopping pebbles out of the way for a newbie or someone who has poor balance to begin with to help them, until they can develop better balance , then work on navigating debris and small obstacles.
More accurate title: things that I have not tried but do not like
a good alternative to the summerboard is the freeboard or better yet the freeboard 5x as it is much cheaper and supposedly feels more like a snowboard, the only downside is that it is not electric and would be ridden more like a longboard.
They're not very fun to ride on flat land. Summerboard can go anywhere, which is a lot of fun. The price point just sucks.
Just sayin.
bullshit
if you need a stick to push with after knee surgery then your knee hasn't healed enough for you to skate with OBVIOUSLY.
I was never in the skater crowd or doing tricks. I got a ripstick mini as a kid and a longboard later in life. In my mind they're just alternative products with a different purposes. I love the comfortable and easy of use for linger commutes.
The push stick, in my opinion, is more for upper body workout.... At least that's why I use mine 🤣
personaly I think the snowboard-skateboard hybrid is useful for people who dont really want to trick around with their board or people who just want to ride around in groups, It's not as stressful for the muscels so in my opinion its okay, if you just want to ride around the city. still, a bit pricy so ye
Where and what skate shoes cost 25$?? In Canada (quebec) more like 100-150!
Suspension trucks and a rock buster with broom bristles instead of a plow, would be great for long rides on eBoards
I am for saying thatI love watching your videos I watch them almost every day
I feel that I was attacked a little bit here😝. I can’t, for the life of me, ride a skateboard for any longer than five seconds, but I find it early easy riding a rip stick. 🤣🤣🤣
Rip sticks are fun until the wheels shred off. The thing that gives you movement is pumping. So you’re just grinding them poor scooter wheels to dust
Someone knows what the surfboard with green wheels is ? (8:42) thx
I have a morf board. The deck is gardage and heavy, but the trucks are amazing. Great bearings and wheels. So i took the trucks and slapped them on a regular deck and it worked beautifully.
P.S I manages to ollie that 10 ton thing and when I ollied on the regular deck I almost flew away
P.S.S the trucks are made of metal obviously
I used to have a spark strip on mine I loved and worked real well
I'm 72 years old and my Land Paddle helps me cruise the boulevard on my long board while listening to the Beach Boys on my portable 8 track boom box.
By seeing the swelltech (8:40) as the best option for surfskate, I defo knew that this is one of the best vid of worst skateboard products
nice video, keep up the good work.
I guess the rock deflector would be ok on cruiser boards bit as a skateboarder I can see why not to use. new sub 👍
I got the morphe board at a discount store for 24$ for the whole set, definitely terrible but glade I got it for so cheap
This video was waaayyyyy to on point
I have something like the summer board or what’re but it’s shaped like a snow board and it has the coaster wheels too it’s rlly hard to ride when I was six
Riding a ripstick, or as the oldies remember, wave boards, is much harder than skateboarding. But they're not meant to be used as skateboards. They're made to just cruise around.
I have the OG snowboard on concrete aka the freeboard. Basically the summer board but only manual.
I owned a pair of suspension trucks. They deff gave u more pop idk what u mean. Also they did feel smoother rolling and grinded faster. Heavy tho u right. Only stopped skating them bc i started to prefer tight trucks and those feel constantly bouncy
bruh if you want a land snowboard just put the swivel wheel on the bottom of a skateboard, they are like 3$ a peice at home depot.
On the skateboard paddle. After years of skating I have a pretty strong lower body but my arms are still noodles. I always felt like skateboard paddles could be a good way to get some upper body in while still doing the thing you love. 🤷
Dam that six wheeled snow/skateboard looked cool, wish they weren't so much tho
That's one specific product, there are non electric versions called "freeboards."
If you can't come up with 10 bad products just make a shorter list.
The paddle is ment for longboarding and it mimics paddle boarding
For ripstiks, I read somewhere they are good for simulating snowboarding. I’ve never been snowboarding so I can’t attest to the similarities, but that shit is still fun af to carve around on
The only thing I could think about while watching this video was that skateboards are a knock off of surfboards..
🤣🤣🤣👍
in 90 my dad used to cut small parts of suede to a form of the shoe tip, then he used to make holes for laces. it is placed between the laces and the shoe
Can i use one of those P.E. Scooters as a skateboard?
what's the shoe model at 2:32 ?
Thanks for sharing and putting up this video. Great info!
Those rubber shoe covers would be dope so my shifter on my motorcycle don’t mess up my kicks
Letttsss goooo new skate box vid!!!!!!
this video is like my teenage kids texts. dont need your thought bursts every 2 seconds 🤣 just do the video
..and perhaps ponder the importance of community and non digital communication now and again 😅
What type/name of the skateboard I should get
I have a penny board but I can’t do tricks and I feel like it just isn’t fun
I remember when I was a kid there was some shoe company that made shoes for sliding down rails, I wanted them sooo bad. Looking back on it now, it seemed like a dumb idea and I don't blame my parents for never buying me a pair.
Soap shoes they were called I had some but couldn't grind lol
Good video! The first one is ludicrous, a sitck to push? What were they thinking?
Probably that your arms are otherwise hanging limp by your side and could be put to good use by adding power in addition to your legs. That's probably what they were thinking.
another tip- when your skateboarding bend your knee’s a whole bunch of times and it will help you keep going longer :)
4:38 dude ripsticks are much much harder to ride then a skateboard
I kick flipped an 8foot 2x4 today at work
Edit: 3:30 what an epic dude I bet he lites that board up
I had a friend who was kind of an entrepreneur… some successes… some fails… his BIGGEST fail was buying 300 hoverboards in 2011 thinking they were only available in China. Whoops.
i gotta say tho, ripsticks were awesome. of course as a skateboard replacement its completely dumb, but i had so much fun just cruising around with my friends
For the deck board the balloon looking thing that you can out on it it’s for trampolines my cousin got one of those it’s kinda cool
Man really said riding a ripstick is easier than skating😂 I’d like to politely disagree
it is for me
it's so much easier, and more fun on hills too
I think it’s easier but that might just be me
Tbh it was easier for me but that’s definitely BC I started skating way before I tried the rip stick a bit (still skate more btw) and the rip stick was easier
exactly. How is it easier???
The Rock shield could be improved if there was a brush along the bottom to sweep away the smaller rocks
the way my hoverboard is just chilling under my bed since 2015/2016 is kinda crazy
To preserve your shoes better when skating, I think painting on a few layers of flex might actually do the tric.
I'll definitely keep your idea written in my notes! thanks!
I want to start skating what would be a good board to try
Z rollers!, Nose/tail guards, plastic truck protectors, the birdy? (Plastic 45° protector that prevents trucks from hanging up).
I actually got my Ripstick over 2 years ago, I paid 30 euros, waited like half a week and the only thing damaged is the back wheel but it didn't break, it's just "well used"
I feel like skate paddles aren't for skateboards. they're more for longboards or some of the bigger hamboards.
Perfect for long distances allowing you to use more muscles.
I don't remember the name of the company but back in the 90s, a truck company came out with tricks that instead of the wheels being held on with a nut, they were held on with a C clip, which constantly fell off and you had to carry extras with you, the didn't last long in the market.
The shoe covers remind me of billiards players that use a glove haha!
The suspension Truck are really sick. I have two friends who ride them on street and Miniramp. And they are rocking this Trucks.
instead of the rubber shoe cover, buy some non abrasive grip tape for just like 10-15 bucks and works the same as normal, just don't get it too dirty or it won't work and is totally a better option at saving your shoes.
At 10:48 as a snowboarder and skateboarding i was like, i need one of those, then i saw the price........😅
