Install a dehumidifier. If you take the humidity out of the air, the heat or cold does not conduct to the body. Your self cooling from sweat works better as your body does not have to push moisture out. It gets sucked out because there is no moisture in the air. You do have to close your windows not open them for airflow. Which is counter intuitive but it works! Also its cheap to run! It only needs a very small amount of your solar. It also stops damp in your boat!
@@milkdrinker7 Not totally true... most air conditioners have a dehumidifier function. it is just trying to remove the water from the air in a more efficient way most of the Europe dehumidifiers are more power efficient than air con, that said as Jordan in previous clip air con or a dehumidifier would be running more power (diesel generation) not necessary cost effective when you are running on a budget. ( will say the further south you head it’s some thing to think about as it becomes a fight against the build-up of mould.)
I just thought of this, and not sure you will get this, but please get a VOC monitor whilst pregant and limit your use of solvents, paints, hardners, glues etc.
All I can say about this week is, the most important aspect of life seems to be happiness, family, and friends. Have a safe week, be careful and see you next week. Thanks you so much.
I had a lot of morning sickness too. I hope you feel better. Keep up with your basic nutritional needs. I also became iron deficient in that time. I was SO tired all the time until we figured out the iron problem and I got my energy back.
What a wonderful grandma! We don't have grandchildren yet, our kids are in their twenties. But the blessed day comes we will take her example. She made us smile!
the saying goes "you can always tell how a woman will look when older by meeting her mother" and I can tell you Jordan, you are a lucky man. Dez, you are beautiful and so is your mother ❤
Incredible footage taken this time. Enjoyed the meeting with school buddies and family. Loved mom's arrival. Hope it helps in the pregnancy. GETTING CLOSER TO SPAIN. Be good to each other.
This eppy was soooo good I wish this eppy was like 3 hours long!!! Hope when you guys come home this huge fan who loves this channel will be able to maybe meet you someday in Anna Maria/Siesta Key!
Great episode guys! You got a couple of shots of Casa De Brelly in the Poros anchorage! Great info on the Corinth Canal and great to see your reaction as you went through. We reacted much the same way -- for a ditch, it's a pretty special experience! Good luck on your passage to ME.
Thanks so much you F o u r, Long time subscriber. And enjoy all of your episodes. Nice to see your mother again, Desiree, She still looks good. Keep going jordan. Thanks so much and look forward to you again.❤❤❤❤
23,488th tag-along view. The drone footage captures are almost always my favorite part - getting to see the boat underway and the surroundings. Next group - 9:00 - "The FatherHood - The Stroller Brigade".
Yeah for Grandmas! Des, Try eating just 2 bites of cheese every couple of hours. Keeping a full protein in your GI system will REALLY HELP fight off nausea.. 😊 (mom & nurse here.. )
I really enjoy your videos. Of course, they are enjoyable to watch but also so educational. You have allowed us to vicariously experience parts of the world that we’ll never be able to see in person. Thanks.
I loved the show, great job on the editing. It's wonderful to see Abuelita getting to do some sailing. Little Isabella is really getting to be quite a star. Love you all!
Ahhhhh.....yessss...! Our Saturday morning breath of fresh air from Sailing Project Atticus here on the west coast of US. The scenery is always breath taking, quiet, calm music, with a bit of sailing, food and friends. Happy and safe travels to the entire crew.
Nice that you switched from lip sync videos to sailing. a much better subject. I am amazed and humbled by how Jordan takes care of his family and the boat. I am envious of your travels.
That is the definition of impatience when the boat behind you can't go at a slower speed for 4 miles. The resemblance between Desiree and her mother are obvious.
We went through the Panama Canal last February on the Princess Ruby. The fee was $450,000! We were in shock, and couldn't figure out how Princess could afford that. Again, a top notch ❤video. I'm sorry you got that laryngitis! I had it too and we were going through Hurricane Beryl. A house full of family, one shower, and me sleepy and unable to talk! I felt like I had my hands tied behind my back! 😂
It is one thing to be on a yachet in port but even better to enjoy a voyage at sail in open water. I'm sure Desiree's mother very much enjoyed that experience and will remember it forever.
I was just there last month except on top of the canal where they bungee jump from and at the entrance to the canal where the vehicle bridge goes down into the water instead of rising up. Nice to see it from your perspective. Also at the Acropolis Museum, after climbing to the top. Unbearable heat when I was there too.
Okay, you just blew my mind. I grew up in Santa Cruz, California. I'm a bit older, born in 72. We must have similar friend groups. I live in Asia with my Japanese wife and 2 kids. We split our time between Japan and Thailand. So cool.
Great video, nice that you had time with friends. In the late sixties I spent time in Athens, obviously much different now except for the heat. It was so hot, our shoes stuck to the pavement. At nite one slept outside on the hostel balconies cement floor, no mattress, nothing. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
U are easily my best sailing channel, right up there amongst a handful of my favs. I have to settle in and get everything set - snacks, drinks lol, to watch ur show on my big screen tv. Such incredible drone scenes and general photography of the places u visit. Such a treat and so disappointed when it ends, all too soon 😞😁
@@ProjectAtticusMe too. I understand how you feel. You are all a tonic for feeling better. Thanks, Mom for being such a sweetheart. It is so nice to see you again. You are all so lucky to have each other. Desiree, I hope you feel so much better. You are raising an amazing daughter, how could you be anything but great and caring parents and grandmom. You have always been such a great team. Thanks for the beauty of this segment and all of the work you put into making it so amazing.
Well, in real sailing world and planning, the Corinth Canal saves about 110 NM. But of course, when in (USofA) style exaggerating stuff, it is about 400 NM to navigate between then canal entry points, without using the canal. But also, if that needs to be in the bucket list, that is a cost then, but definately nothing mandatory. Nice videos otherwise, and good production value, while still a bunch of sailing experience/knowledge will kick in within the oncoming years. For longer passages, I would get a charger with a thick rope and a propeller. Those are cheap, easy to install and run, and provide a lot of off shore power, that much that you can keep your power hungry water makers keeping fresh water 100% topped up. I know the modern versions are the fancy outboard-styleish propellers, but those will cost easily 10x more. This rope-propeller-generator tech is from the 1980s, so nothing new, and works really well.
Dear Sailing Project Atticus family, Cool episode! So great that Desirée got her mom to help you guys. Plus I am sure grandma will enjoy the quality time with Isabella and both of you. So nice! And absolutely interesting, for me as a Panamanian, to watch you sail through this Greek canal, same principle as our Panama Canal, though here we have locks, of course. Enjoy the rest of the trip to Montenegro. Hugs, La tía Ivy desde Panamá. 🤗
Although I know this is true of all of your videos I noticed how many camera angles you have - probably not the right term - but the point is to say it makes your videos so visually appealing to watch - never a static shot. Beautiful video!
You can buy a small portable air conditioner that only consumes 400 watts of power. With just two smaller solar panels and a few components and a L4 battery, you could run the AC for 10 hours a day as long as it's sunny. The technology available today is so much more efficient. It won't be 68 degrees inside, but you could bring the temp down by 10 degrees. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
We used an eu2000i(now EU2300i) generator with our 8k btu window unit AC. Would only burn 1 gallon of gas in 9 hrs. but you could use that to just get the boat cooled down for sleep for a lot less fuel.
Look into Mabru 12v air conditioning units. I have 2. I love them. Run them all night on battery. But I do have 2400w of solar and lithium. Expensive, but game changer. Don’t have to have it super cold either, 78° and it’s awesome and zero humidity. Spoilt, but so worth it for blissful sleep and no humidity/mold.
Beautiful! I say you move up to a catamaran. Larger Kid & dog space. Bedroom for Crew or family to give you a break and air conditioning. SV Delos transitioning to Cat. I know you are pure sailors but less seasick and more space with growing family, huge. Blessings of Good health for all especially with new baby coming.🎉
Back before they had A/C (ancient history) my Grandfather owned a Food Produce Warehouse. To keep it cool (before A/C) he flooded the roof with water and let it evaporate. There is plenty of water around you and I'm sure you could find ways to let it evaporate aroumd you from towels or even the awning. It would certainly make it cooler no matter what the surface temp. Further, even the Astronauts used the same method (evaporation) to cool them in their spacesuits even with it hundreds of degrees in the sun. They'd open a valvue that would evaporate a little water and very rapidly chill them in their suits. [Have you thought about little water pipes in your clothing? Going to a heat xter/evaporation area? I did something like that to keep cool in my leather jacket on my motorcycle in the summer. It was like my personal A/C.]

True! Fans and a dehumidifier work wonders!
Cool🎉
And the water is great for the plants
I might be just wrong here but aren't dehumidifiers basically just weak air conditioners that don't send the waste heat to the outside?

It was so lovely to see the interactions between Isa and her Grandma. Such love between them both.

Been through it on the USS Aggressive MSO-422, an ocean going minesweeper, during the six days war. So cool.
Loved this video with the interactions between family and friends. Also sailing through that canal was beautiful.
I'm happy to see Isa says Bubbles!

Corinth has such a rich history. They used to drag the ships through the gap prior to the canal. Huge point of commerce.
Safe travels and uneventful sailing!
Actually crossed that canel when I was in the Navy 1973, was on a one day tour of the island
OMG you should publish your old videos, I'd love to see more Santa Cruz from back in the day - I grew up there too.
Yeah, I think those dehumidifiers use some energy also does it is a good idea on a lot of levels with a boat
