I was not wearing them as i should at first, but now that I have fully committed to a more full time ware, I can feel the shift / pull, and my tongue does not stick out beneath my teeth when I try to poke it through. before I saw this, I really didn't have an idea of what was exactly happening, I was just told to wear the bands and they will help fix my bite. I am more of visual learner and seeing exactly whats happening really helps me appreciate the process and makes the anticipation for the finished product even more grand! Thank you!

this is the second set of elastics i’ve been given now during treatment and these are 10x worse than class II elastics i use to have those didn’t hurt at all, but these hurt like a BITCH the thought of taking them off to eat and brush and THEN putting them back on makes me wanna cry day one for me 😭
Are elastics suppose to hurt in general? They never hurt when I put them on. Only when it’s in combination with an adjustment and those don’t even hurt anymore either
I dont get it, i have the traingle rubber bands, but this video shows that you have an ''open'' bite and the rubber bands will help to place them in a good way, but I dont have this problem but I still need to wear them.. (Sorry for my bad English, I am from Holland).
smileforyourself xo I have that too all my teeth are straight and my overbite is 100% gone and all my gaps are closed and they are no longer having me wear my rubber bands for my overbite any longer and they just had me wear by bands in the triangle but I have no idea what it’s for

+Victoria Byrd in addition to the vertical force to your upper and lower teeth it applies minor retraction force to your upper front teeth and minor protraction force to your lower teeth. you must have very small overbite that your orthodontist is correcting.

I’m assuming it moved your jaw in the correct position. I had a rounder/softer face at the start of my braces, 3 years later after wearing a forsus spring for 6 months along with currently wearing rubber bands, my jaw shape definitely changed to look shaper and more ‘square like’ tbh I don’t care, at least I’ll have a Hollywood smile.
