"Had" one since the CX was launch... like 10 years ago.
Thought that had lost it a few weeks ago... so bought a new one.
Currently 2022's CX does not have that carbon fiber finish. Not sure what material they use now.. Some sort of pastic or composite with black matte finish.
Thats the only component that looks cheaper. Beside that everything is the same.
Happily found yesterday the old one! So now I have a spare one. :)
Beside so many years of every-day-use is still in great shape compared to new one.
Black steel frame has a few hard to notice scratches. Also minor signs of wear in edges that makes friction in pocket. Blade of corse lost it shine but still great. Only some rust appeard on main bolts and indentation of pliers.
Overall, its in mint condition. And best pocket knife / multitool I ever had!
carry it every day for more than 6 years now. it's just the best knife ever!!!!
Agreed. I think the biggest benefit is that it is so easy to pocket carry.

I like all of the Skeletools. Less functions than the larger tools but very useful and easy to carry.
Absolutely. I carry it far more often than I thought I would. The size and weight balance to overall utility is hard to beat.
I purchased this tool specifically for restaurant/bartender work. This is the perfect tool for my needs.

I have to admit. I like it even more now that I have had it for some time.
I went skeletool cx, and bit kit, and every option for it, including the sheaths. I love it, but not cheap or easy to get in Asia, had mine sent from Canada, and it was on sale.

Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment. As for the leatherman tools, excellent choices. The others you may want to consider for work are the wave plus and the surge. The wave plus has a better price point minus some of the tti features. The surge is bigger and offers the interchangeable saw. The tti is a great fit for me and I do enjoy it. I hope you do enjoy what u end up getting and get good use out of your gear!
wondering when you have a multi tool in hand do you really need a glass breaker. I've never use a glass breaker before but I would imagine using the tip of plier to hit the glass will do the same? At the close position the bit covered by the frame so it makes the glass breaker fast deployment useless. Once the tool is open wouldn't be better just hit the glass with the tip of the plier? thanks for making the video, I'm just brain storming and not want to spent extra money to buy unnecessary items. I'm in the processing of buying this tool so just studying more about it.
I would get the tool first, see how it fits in your rotation, and then get the glassbreaker tip later on if you still need or want it. What you stated makes sense but frankly I don't know how effective the plier head would be without having tried it. When I was doing research I compared the CX to the Rx and noticed the blade steel was different, along with a serrated blade and the glassbreaker tip that comes with the Rx. I went with the CX and I am happy that I did but I also splurged and got the tip. I have a few other leatherman tools and I knew that the accessories are compatible along the leatherman tool line so I justified the purchase. But if you are a gear head like me I know that there are several items on your wishlist. Get the skeletool first and u can always add later as needed. A bigger issue is that cars use increasingly more lamination, even on sides, and breakers don't work on them, you need to create an entry point and than saw, like with the vitorinox rescue tool. Ok to have, have it on some flashlights as it can be a "tactical" gimmick there, but would not purchase a tool for that unless it has other options specific for rescue.
Skeletool cx and victorinox camping is my combo
That sounds like a great duo for camping trips. With various functions available by combining the two tools you have quite the coverage for your needs. Camper looks like a solid tool especially with the saw and the awl.

Damn this is insanely pricey here in Mexico... Almost $250 dlls for the one with the extra tips.... Luckily I grab one without nothing, just the tool for $100 dlls, still pricey but nothing beats American made quality
The RX comes with a glass breaker
That it does. 3 main differences with the rx. 1) the serrated blade for the rx 2) the red color for the rx. I prefer the look of the cx and the non serrated blade. However I also understand that the serrated blade is much more useful especially when trying to cut the seat belt etc. I use the skeletool cx as an edc. Whereas I view the rx as something that I would keep primarily in the car. Thank you for the comment!!
