I love when artists take a story or a silly video series and put some depth into the characters and making their own little stories, while still keeping the original in mind. I can tell from this video the Benrey didn't want to be the villain and after all is said and done, you can see he regrets it. He just wants to be with them.

God, HLVRAI was a fucking journey. One that has legitimately changed me in some small way. I had this music video recommended to me about a week ago, and I almost didn't watch it. I'm really glad I did, because it really highlights a lot of the deeper aspects of the series that I hadn't even considered. It's fucking beautiful and you should definitely be proud, especially after having to start over basically from scratch. What you have made here is something incredibly meaningful, and I sincerely hope that the people involved in HLVRAI see this some day, because it's fantastic. I've watched a bunch more music videos made about the series, but I think this one is still my favorite, because I keep coming back to it. It's something about the facial expressions, the humanity in which you draw all of the characters. It gives them life, which is not to say that the others don't do the same, but this one just feels different. God, and the last scene where Wayne is sitting alone in his room, that fucking got me the first time. It's so tragic and beautiful and just very very well done. Thank you for making this, and I wish you nothing but the best in life.

When Coomer shoots his clone in the dumpster and the LIGHTING of it?? Incredible. The scene change from Coomer falling to Bubby in his tube is also my favorite transition tied with the rocket to bullet. And the bittersweet end gets me every time
When you posted about the hard drive loss I was hollowed. Having seen the few things you had posted before that it was "wow damn this will be fantastic!" - let me say, for the record, it is STILL FANTASTIC. It is beautifully thought out and executed, and somehow even the 'unfinished' final presentation seems very fitting indeed, given the song itself. You done good.

I might be a year late to this BUT the amount of EMOTION and FEELING you put into the characters is awesome and I loved how you put in each of Gordon's milestones that he faces!! And at the end when he takes the headset off and contemplates what just happened, he can still feel that Coomer, Bubby, Tommy, and Benrey are still right there with him. So epic.

I’ve had this in my tabs for nearly 2 months dear god- I just wanted to say thank you for making this. I always loved the initial animatic, which ended up introducing me to this lovely song in the first place. I also still consider the transition from the rocket to the bullet absolutely masterful. It‘s beautiful seeing how this project has developed. Also, I know it’s only been 2 years since HLVRAI came out, but it’s a nice blast-from-the-past!

I was only just introduced to HLVRAI by my partner, and god I'm so glad they did- I was initially hesitant to the whole thing but after watching the whole series, and finding masterpieces such as this I don't regret a thing. As sad as I am to have missed when the fandom was at it's peak, everything I've found has been incredible. Granted, I'm still very new to the fandom, as such this animatic is one of the first I've seen, and it truly is a masterpiece. I love your designs of all the characters, and your art style is just amazing. The transitions between characters are absolutely gorgeous and even the less animated parts are a sight to behold. I genuinely am so invested in how you potray them, to the point I started tearing up at the end. I know some people here have been here from the very beginning, but as someone who's just starting out in the fandom, I thank you for this beautiful piece of work and for inspiring to start drawing for fandoms, starting here!

This is genuinely so amazing and nearly made me tear up, you captured the energy of the height of hlvrai so so well! I remember when the first WIPs came out and introduced me to half alive in the first place, and the second I saw the thumbnail for this I clicked as fast as I could. This is so, so wonderful and amazing and I can really feel the effort and love that went into this, especially considering how much of it you lost (rip computer malfunctions, it’s almost fitting considering it’s about hlvrai but still Jesus that’s a lot of content to loose) I guess it’s time for me to rewatch hlvrai cause damn :’) I miss these guys
god i damn near cried at the end, dr coomer's last message was heartbreaking really hopin they do hl2vrai and damnjamboy, if you somehow see this bra-fucking-vo, this was amazing, from how you perfectly captured the characters, the story, little details like tommy seeing gman watching over him, to the art itself looking amazing, the details in the end boss fight and wayne taking off the headset with everyone still with him God, and knowing how difficult animation or animatics can be, especially one that is really damn good takes serious skill enjoy the rest of your day
I cannot begin to explain how much I love this animatic. I was out of this world excited to see this in my youtube subs box--I still rewatched the wips from time to time! This project was one I've always been excited to see more of, and you exceeded any expectations I had by far. Also, this was the project that introduced me to 'still alive' and half alive in general, and now they're one of my top listened to spotify artists, haha! I'm so sorry about the original files, but I do wanna say that I think any and all work you did on this is fantastic. I hope that everything is going well for you!

GOD i was already having an emotional night and now i'm losing my mind over this i need a minute the expressions, the designs, each section dedicated to one character - AUGH i hate (read: love) that i get so emotionally invested in the most goofy silly little guys. god. incredible work all around. look at those transitions to each part. _fantastic_ also, speaking from experience with losing tons of progress on a project, that is _devastating,_ genuinely. kudos for persevering and getting it almost fully re-finished anyway. the final product is absolutely wonderful

It's fucking beautiful and you should definitely be proud, especially after having to start over basically from scratch. What you have made here is something incredibly meaningful, and I sincerely hope that the people involved in HLVRAI see this some day, because it's fantastic. I've watched a bunch more music videos made about the series, but I think this one is still my favorite, because I keep coming back to it. It's something about the facial expressions, the humanity in which you draw all of the characters. It gives them life, which is not to say that the others don't do the same, but this one just feels different. God, and the last scene where Wayne is sitting alone in his room, that fucking got me the first time. It's so tragic and beautiful and just very very well done. Thank you for making this, and I wish you nothing but the best in life.

When Coomer shoots his clone in the dumpster and the LIGHTING of it?? Incredible. The scene change from Coomer falling to Bubby in his tube is also my favorite transition tied with the rocket to bullet. And the bittersweet end gets me every time

When you posted about the hard drive loss I was hollowed. Having seen the few things you had posted before that it was "wow damn this will be fantastic!" - let me say, for the record, it is STILL FANTASTIC. It is beautifully thought out and executed, and somehow even the 'unfinished' final presentation seems very fitting indeed, given the song itself. You done good.

I might be a year late to this BUT the amount of EMOTION and FEELING you put into the characters is awesome and I loved how you put in each of Gordon's milestones that he faces!! And at the end when he takes the headset off and contemplates what just happened, he can still feel that Coomer, Bubby, Tommy, and Benrey are still right there with him. So epic.
THIS... THIS IS LOVELY. ive recently started getting back into hlvrai (mental illness made me beat hl1 five times back-to-back and i was like "yknow what? im gonna watch hlvrai again instead") and this animatic is like exactly what i wanted to see right now. i absolutely love your designs for everyone and the fucking BOOTS bubby has 10/10 would scrimble again (i am sleep deprived)

I just wanted to say thank you for making this. I always loved the initial animatic, which ended up introducing me to this lovely song in the first place. I also still consider the transition from the rocket to the bullet absolutely masterful. It‘s beautiful seeing how this project has developed.
Also, I know it’s only been 2 years since HLVRAI came out, but it’s a nice blast-from-the-past!

I was only just introduced to HLVRAI by my partner, and god I'm so glad they did- I was initially hesitant to the whole thing but after watching the whole series, and finding masterpieces such as this I don't regret a thing. As sad as I am to have missed when the fandom was at it's peak, everything I've found has been incredible. Granted, I'm still very new to the fandom, as such this animatic is one of the first I've seen, and it truly is a masterpiece. I love your designs of all the characters, and your art style is just amazing. The transitions between characters are absolutely gorgeous and even the less animated parts are a sight to behold. I genuinely am so invested in how you potray them, to the point I started tearing up at the end.
I know some people here have been here from the very beginning, but as someone who's just starting out in the fandom, I thank you for this beautiful piece of work and for inspiring to start drawing for fandoms, starting here!

This is genuinely so amazing and nearly made me tear up, you captured the energy of the height of hlvrai so so well! I remember when the first WIPs came out and introduced me to half alive in the first place, and the second I saw the thumbnail for this I clicked as fast as I could. This is so, so wonderful and amazing and I can really feel the effort and love that went into this, especially considering how much of it you lost (rip computer malfunctions, it’s almost fitting considering it’s about hlvrai but still Jesus that’s a lot of content to loose)

I cannot begin to explain how much I love this animatic. I was out of this world excited to see this in my youtube subs box--I still rewatched the wips from time to time! This project was one I've always been excited to see more of, and you exceeded any expectations I had by far. Also, this was the project that introduced me to 'still alive' and half alive in general, and now they're one of my top listened to spotify artists, haha! I'm so sorry about the original files, but I do wanna say that I think any and all work you did on this is fantastic. I hope that everything is going well for you!

also, speaking from experience with losing tons of progress on a project, that is _devastating,_ genuinely. kudos for persevering and getting it almost fully re-finished anyway. the final product is absolutely wonderful
