I legit almost started crying near the end, this series (while goofy) is so good, and tells a genuinely great story. I'm so happy it's still relevant years later.
The transitions between animators when Gordon jumps the elevator shaft was so good!! This whole thing is so good though. I also loved the bit during the boss fight when you see flashes of Wayner in the vr gear, it’s reminiscent of gundam anime when they show pilots in the cockpit
Just commenting to point out my fave parts because aghhhh there’s so much talent here!! 1:32 LOVVVVEEE THE cartoony designs and tommy with the splatter looks v cool 1:52 THAT BENNY design is VERY FUN 1:59 through to 2:06 are soooosocoool like the whispering between bunny n benrey and then the black and red scene is AMAZING 2:20 KILLED me that’s a great use of the beats of the song All the way to 2:30 PERFECT nailing of the most dramatic part of the song and Gordon’s expression is so good 2:44 is an absolute favorite I remember seeing it posted a while ago, the lineless style is so good and the shot of wayner turning to freeman is 1000/10 3:09 ;--;;;; so amazing. And of course the closing illustration Huge kudos to everyone that worked on it. Superb choice of song. Amazing animation. Crossing my fingers that there’s more projects like this in th future cause they seem like a blast to work on!! Congrats!!

I love the section from 2:01 - 2:06 so much! The artistic interpretation of Gordon’s capture by the HECU and Tommy trying to help only to be held back is just perfect.
i can't tell whose style that is because i can't count, apparently, but the person who did the scene with gordon and coomer where it flashes between gordon and wayne... that was so gorg, i remember being mesmerized by it 9 months ago and im mesmerized by it now
it is so god damn cool to see this project finally finished. i've been around here for a while; i was there at the height of hlvrai's popularity and i remember seeing this project announced and some of the earlier completed entries posted alone. so fucking cool to see them all here. i think the timing of this is Perfect. the amount of time it's been since the original series release and the map announcement combined with the themes of the song make it hit really hard. i adore seeing everyone's styles and designs. i adore the interpretations of moments throughout the series. i love the transitions between parts. there's So much strong imagery and effective storytelling here; personal favorite examples are the Betrayal and the Ending Fight (that running shot starting with the coin flip is so fucking solid). i hope everyone who worked on this is Sincerely Deeply proud of what you've done here because it's really god damn impressive. it's clever it's emotional it's funny it's really something special i fucking love this video

I’ve never expected this media product as saga to hit me that hard. All the time watching the series feels like you’re playing Half-Life in party of your friends online. It gave me shrill, and still comfort. And when it came to an end it felt like “All right, pals, that’s all for today. It was really fun. Let’s cooperate tomorrow in DC and play something else together” - unless, “tomorrow” never happened and everyone went offline for no reason. Such a warm sadness. And recently I gave it another try and watched again. And suddenly my fyp recommends me this masterpiece. Cool collaboration and the moments we’re chosen carefully. I really enjoyed this MAP and glad that a bunch of talents could make a great summary of this journey through HL. Keep going, guys! And thank you for this great job, it’s beautiful!…
I just want to say that I'm shocked this was only a year and a half ago. It has the same vibes and emotions as the early MAPs. Despite coming into the fandom late, I cannot express how much it means to me. I've found so many friends through this series. So many creative fanworks. My own creativity! I'm even over halfway done with hosting my OWN HLVRAI MAP. I never would've imagined participating in one, much less hosting it! I've found the perfect part of the fandom that is wholesome and welcoming and I love y'all, if you ever see this.

I honestly used to be terrified of this song. It’d come on in the car and i’d have to cover my ears- i think it was because I was really paranoid and unmedicated for mental illness and the like- and i took it more literally than it was intended. Watching this was a challenge because I guess it brought back some memories, but it was so incredible that the song is now one of my favorites! Instead of thinking about the end of the world, now I can think of this incredible map and it helps a lot.
I'm SO glad this was finally finished- seeing its process over all this time has been such an honor and I'm so glad you guys made such a wonderful product in the end! It's genuinely so fun to watch over and over and I'm shocked I haven't left a comment yet.

You should all be increadably proud. The different styles perfectly match the energy of the scenes they depict, the characterization is so strong it carries over between artists and art styles, and the song ties it all together. I am ugly crying tears of joy ❤❤❤

I honestly used to be terrified of this song. It’d come on in the car and i’d have to cover my ears- i think it was because I was really paranoid and unmedicated for mental illness and the like- and i took it more literally than it was intended. Watching this was a challenge because I guess it brought back some memories, but it was so incredible that the song is now one of my favorites! Instead of thinking about the end of the world, now I can think of this incredible map and it helps a lot.
