    I think that Depression & Anxiety management play a massive role in beating this condition. No joke I have found that when I hit my low point and basically give up the struggle, suddenly when I am not so focused on it I do start to feel better. It’s almost like clockwork too that a couple weeks later I will randomly think oh things have been going pretty well and then BAM the anxiety starts and I will have a flare up. I’ve been battling using a combination of relaxation, low key stretching, and honestly just trying to force myself to simply not care. I have found that believe it or not has been a game changer. It doesn’t mean there is nothing there but I think it takes the edge off the nerve sensitivity that is causing the pain. Our bodies get so used to being in pain that our nerves forget it’s ok to stop firing off those signals when there is nothing wrong. Nothing but love and prayers for my fellow sufferers, I truly hope one day the medical community takes this condition more seriously!

      I like your insights. "Not caring" is huge. I use several phrases for it but they're all the same. Trust God, let go, keep training for what you were made to do.

      My similar condition is 100% stress related ....i had it for 3 months then got it 90+% under control for the last 5 years but now it is back with avengence over the last 4 weeks after stress......I have to let go realize i am in control and be postive and i can defeat this again...this also seems to have to do with a fight or flight response being activated and possibly ties in to trauma, abandoment and pstd in my opinon

    Your channel has been so helpful for me. I had almost all of these symptoms for years and I'm finally starting to see the same results as you did (in the same order!) after doing the daily exercises and walks. I went through the exact same experience of testicular pain and thought I had caught an STD, but didn't understand how that could be. Over the years following I had so many tests, antibiotics, diets, exercises, and all I managed to do was to become deathly skinny. A few weeks ago I started working on lengthening my hamstrings, and within a week I noticed that I could walk upright again with good posture. I was able to sit in a chair without being in constant pain. This past week I've noticed that my appetite has magically returned, and what I eat actually seems to be helping me get back to a normal body weight again. I've been waking up early in the morning feeling healthy and positive about the day ahead. For the first time since this all started I actually feel like I have a foothold on recovering. Thanks again!

    • @CureCPPS
      @CureCPPS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Wow, this is really encouraging to read! I'm so glad you're still in this fight. And making progress!
      About the hamstrings, there was an old PT book called "Pain Free," and it would have you stretch you hamstrings for HALF AN HOUR PER DAY. Crazy, right? But that doctor knew that modern life "hamstrings" our hamstrings.

    • @invin7215
      @invin7215 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@CureCPPS This is exactly what changed everything for me too! I had tried countless stretches and never saw any progress, or even felt worse; I felt so discouraged and thought my body was just broken or faulty somehow. Once I started spending half an hour or more just working on the hamstrings (long sessions of roller, massage, stretches, repeat) suddenly I had rapid progress and everything changed. I never realized how long it takes to really get the muscles warm, loose, and ready to work on. I hope everyone will give these long sessions a try, because once you start seeing progress you finally have a foothold and motivation to do it every day.

    Dude, I am so glad I found this. I just got done with a urology appointment and they did a prostate exam and said I had pelvic floor muscle spasms and gave me PT and had me on my way. I was super confused as I’ve never heard of this ever and I’m a very active person. When I saw this video, I was so relieved. I have had all the same similar symptoms you explained. I have had pelvic pain for 25 years. I have been told by many urologists that I have prostatitis. The pain before I had my prostate removed was where the prostate is. Once I had that operation the pain moved to the rectum where it stayed. The pain varies from uncomfortable to excruciating. I have been doing your nine exercises for two days. Do you think I have what you have described? I will do anything to get rid of this.

    • @CP-so4hg
      @CP-so4hg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@milliejaymoon I'm much better. I am >90% most days. I still get flare-ups, but they only last a few hours. I still have the bladder urges, but they are definitely not nearly as bad as they were when I was suffering last year. Some nights are still a challenge, as this is when the flare ups really happen. I sometimes have to go 3-4 times, but I believe that these too will slowly resolve. This condition just takes a long time to resolve, so you must be patient and expect flare ups. It's part of the process. You also have to work on the stress and anxiety, as I now truly believe that it's the main trigger.

    So I have been dealing with these symptoms consistently on and off for about 3 months now. Finally went to doctor, got ultrasounds, got diagnosed “epididymitis”. An infection of the epididymis. They put me on a strong antibiotic Levofloxacin. But, then urine samples came back clean. I had been taking the antibiotic for 4 days but stopped since it gave me some nasty side effects. Don’t take an antibiotic until you’re sure it’s an infection! I have a feeling now that it’s really just all stress and tension. Started doing the pelvic floor stretches and am feeling better. I was getting very frustrated and depressed trying to figure all this out. It’s amazing how misunderstood this is in the mainstream medical community!

      I have been thinking the same. In the beginning, I didn't want to believe that. Because I got bad posture and misalignments according to my chiro. But Pts and chiros helped me to overcome these physical problems after 2 years. They told me that physically I am fine and I have no problems with my spine. So my last appointment with my Pelvic PT was about a concussion in my brain or a type of PTSD in which my mind doesn't want to delete the memory of pain. I remember that before this horrible pain came to my life I was having a lot of stress due to work, buying a house, and grad school. I felt a burning sensation in my back and tingling in my feet. And one day after running I went to urinate and the CPPS started. So this is not a coincidence, I tested this pain with my philosophy studies. I focused on the book and I submerged in the concept and thoughts that I forget about the pain in the groin and suddenly the pain disappears. I don't know but I am going to try hypnosis to treat my anxiety.

    Hi, i am not sure i have CPPS, however finding this videos is the best result so far in trying to identify the source of my problem. For me it started about 6 months ago, first by having a burning sensation on the underwear line. Since then, i cannot wear briefs at all, only boxers. The burning sensation started to feel soon on my inner thighs also, and sometimes, rarely in my pubic area. I went to several doctors, had an MRI for my lower back, still no exact result. More recently i started to have pain in my tale bone, being difficult for me to sit on a chair. I also started to have pain in the pubic area. I workout usually, however it got more difficult and i had to decrease the weights i was lifting. It is difficult to do squats for now. Today i did the stretching exercises recommended by Ian in is other video and i have to say it felt great after, but for a short time. will continue to do them as it felt so good. Not sure, anyone had similar symptoms as i had, i've read almost all comments, i do not have the blue balls for example. Any sharing is welcome. And Ian, great job presenting this! As others said, no doctors were able to give me this explanations. BTW, i also did physical therapy and massage in the past months, weekly. All the best to you all!

      I have the same issue with the seams on the briefs, back pockets of trousers etc. Its due to hypersensitivity issues of nerves in that area probably because of really tight internal pelvic muscles. I would say you definitely have CPPS and will need internal work by a pelvic floor specialist to help. Look up the obturator internus muscle. Symptoms include coccyx pain, Sit Bone pain and greater trochanter pain. I'm currently having work done internally to address my issues which have been going on for six years. I've had my coccyx removed 3 years ago but if I had discovered a pelvic floor specialist earlier I probably could have prevented that. Check out other TH-cam videos by Dr Suzie Gronski. I'm based in England.

    1) internal pelvic floor physiotherapy
    2) certain stretching routine for pelvic floor
    3) Reduce stressing and worrying

      My sympathies. I started riding frequently about 2 years ago to beat hypertension. I lost 2st in weight and my BP came down to normal levels thankfully. I upped mileage on the bike earlier this year and started doing longer rides at the weekend. (60 - 80 miles) My symptoms started with anxiety / worry about lots of things I couldn't quite fathom. I had "prickling" sensations in my todger and some varying discomfort during ejaculation (in the shaft or at the base) / some burning as described here. Then I had the urgency to pee a lot, at night etc. which lasted for about three weeks. I could feel my urethra all the time - not pleasant at all. No burning but definitely heat when peeing. Flow seems ok. My doctor tested for and ruled out UTI, Prostate, Glucose problems. My todger would sometimes throb with pain on and off. I don't mind telling you I cried every day for a week or more. Thankfully things have settled down since I've been off the bike for a few months. I self diagnosed I injured my perineum / undercarriage. I believe this has loads of nerves controlling waterworks etc. I'm doing breathing and stretching in the mornings and walking when I can. Sexual function still not back to normal but hopefully getting there. I spoke to a professional bike fitter (66 yrs old) who ran bike tours for a living and he told me all of this is quite common for cyclists. Anyhow hope you are getting better.

      @@hoagied3783 Hello I have some issues. I am a 20 years old male. Like weeks ago, I was having urgency to Urinate. I Urinated like 6-13 times. I went to get tests for UTIs or Kidney Stones. Tests were negative nothing was abnormal. When I urinate I feel like there's urine left in my penis so I have to strain or push to get the rest out. Sometimes It takes 3 or 4 seconds for urine to start even though I have urges. The stream sometimes comes in a straight line and I urine a lot and sometimes I don’t urinate a lot. Sometimes a little urine leaks in small drops. It happens whens I am done Urinating.I have like discomfort in urethra and sometimes I have like twitching or fasciculations inside my urethra. Before all these symptoms showed I had constipation, but It did not worry me because sometimes It goes away after a day. But I realized it lasted a a few more days. I also get trapped gas in my anus that I have to push, I did not had to strain to pass gas before. This is scaring me. I don't have any other symptoms like blood in Urine or fever. Before all of this happened I was always in college from January through May, sitting in class and in home I always sat to do Homework. And when I was done I went straight to bed and only walked a little bit. In May that’s when I decided to start working out, I lifted 20 lbs with my both arms and did sit ups and all types of abdomen workouts everyday. I also went for 25-30 minute runs. Did that for 3 weeks and after that the symptoms I previously mentioned showed up in May 19th. Do you think the workouts could had injured my pelvic floor and that’s what causes my Issues with Bladder. Another thing I want to say, I suffered from GERD or acid reflux and Nausea in 2019-2022 because I had anxiety and stress. Until 2022 I took therapy to lower my social anxiety and depression because of a girl. I still got stressed in college and panic and was nervous because I had a project that required public speaking. The day before my urine problems began, the girl that left me texted me on the phone. I got happy but then it didn’t last because I suddenly got sad because I remember what she did to me in the past and got so depressed and started to get flu like symptoms.

      Yes. benign prostatic hyperplasia/ chronic non bacterial / Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome all the same thing. I am diagnosed.
      It causes urinary issues bad flow pain while peeing / painful ejaculation / stinging in the utretha / pain after sex deep in the prostate and urethra burning.
      They put me on flowmax but I have constipation issues every time I have issues with that it causes a “flare up” but the flowmax has made the pain less bad and flare ups less painful.
      But it does some with a price a dry orgasm and some other sexual side effects.

    Hi Ian, Thank you for posting this inspirational video for us guys suffering from CPPS. Just curious how frequent did you need to perform this therapy to help you heal? And do you still perform this form of treatment regularly? Much appreciated.

      Hey CP, I still stretch every day, sometimes twice a day. My job involves a lot of sitting (video editing/writing, imagine that). I don't massage anymore, but I do take a walk or two every day. I probably won't stretch this evening, as I made a point of getting out of my chair a lot.
      As for frequency, check out the full day routine video. I did it nearly every day.

      @@CureCPPS Hi Ian, Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I've been doing your stretches for a couple of months and I feel much better. The urinary frequency is starting to lessen, and I still have flare-ups; although they are not as intense as before. How long did it take you for you to fully overcome your frequency issues. In the video, you mention that it was the first to resolve. Thank you so much and I will be supporting you!

    I'm pretty sure I have CPPS but I was hesitant that stretching alone was going to fix it. I was really obsessed with a magic pill that might cure me. I went on to try many different medicines and ignored stretching. None of the medicines worked and I was devastated.
    Thanks Ian for your video. I'm really motivated with your success story and I hope I can beat this horrible condition too.

    • @CureCPPS
      @CureCPPS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will beat it. Keep at it. And I'm impressed that you moved past medicines. I wish my dad would do that. He stuck to medicines his whole life, and now his back is permanently painful due to a surgery he could have avoided. I pray for him and he might get better with stretching...but it's hard to say. I'm glad you're not in that situation!

    I'm not entirely sure if I have CPPS but several doctors and urologist visits ruled out bacteria infection. My main symptom is feeling a lot of pressure around the lower abdomen and pubic area, it's like a full-blown hard soccer ball to the touch. I can't wear underwear with any elastic band. Sometimes I feel a throbbing pain around the groin like some blood vessels have too much pressure. But the doctors said it's probably the nerve being pulled. When I drink coffee it immediately gets worse, even just one small cup in the morning. It's not acute pain, it's a dull pain that's most obvious before bed. The most annoying thing is that I feel very low sex drive.
    My symptoms seem not as bad as described in this video, but I feel this is non-bacteria chronic prostatitis all right. Any comment is appreciated!

    I’ve suffered with this for nearly 10 years now. Some days are better than others, and on the better days I sometimes get lazy and don’t take steps to prevent another bad day, so here’s a song I sing now, to remind myself (usually in a country/folk style): “Pain in my balls, pain in my cock, pain in the tip, it’s always a shock. Pain in my ass, pain in my back, pain in the depths of my low-hangin’ sack!”
    ... in all seriousness though, thanks for your channel. Sometimes just nice to see you aren’t the only person dealing with this when so many other people (even doctors) think it’s all in your head.

      Sometimes I change up “low hanging” with anything else relevant. Burning, swelling, whatever makes me laugh that day.

    All my problems started after I added stomach vacuums to my calistenics routine. I did them for about a month. During that period my sex drive was through the roof and I was in the best shape of my life (sexually). But then suddenly I started having ED and penile pain, and I have the constant feeling my bladder is more or less full. My urologist said I have non-bacterial prostatitis and just gave me saw palmetto based supplement. Do you think this conditions might be due to the stomach vacuums? IMHO those exercises made my pelvic floor muscles tight, but I don't know how to tell if that's the case, I don't have that kind of physiotherapists in my country.

    • @CureCPPS

      I'm not sure, though at least one other person has said what you said - lots of peeing, but no pain. There are other forms of prostatitis, and while I'm not expert on them, I know that an "enlarged prostate" can cause this symptom as well. If you know anxiety is a factor, work on that, and keep researching in the meantime.

      My symptoms are frequency urinating, hesitancy(taking forever to pee), pain in my perineum, pain/fullness in my rectum, especially if I’m sitting, constipation, testicular pain. I’ve basically gotten rid of the testicular pain, gotten control of urination back like 75 percent, the pain in my rectum is gone but still feels full depending on how stressed I am. My advice to you is to go to a physical therapist who specialized in Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor disfunction. I see one twice a week. If you rectum pain is caused by tight/short/weak pelvic floor muscles they will give you an internal massage that helps lengthen them. That’s helped me a ton. I bought a wand that I use daily and it’s been helpful. Drs don’t know about the issue, my wife is one and hadn’t even heard of it. Certain Physical Therapists specialize in this exact problem and can guide you through fixing it. Go to PT and learn to meditate with TH-cam.

      Stress and lack of movement are huge parts of the equation. Are your symptoms worst when you're stressed? And have you been to a doctor to try to rule out infection, and even cancer? It's unlikely you have cancer, though, so don't worry.
