@@OVER-RANNUSunfortunately there’s a lot of things Forrest has done that’s not true. For one the leopard discovery has been greatly called into question as there has been no further proof of these cats five years after that trail camera video on a small island. Many believe the footage was of a mainland leopard passed off as the Zanzibar leopard. The tortoise, caiman, and langur he “discovered” were all discovered and documented way before any of his ventures but he got credit for their rediscovery. And the tortoise especially he and his team did no work in actually locating the tortoises location all that Galante did was tag along with a camera crew and got all the credit for the discovery. I feel bad for galante, he genuinely loves nature and found an extant island Galapagos tortoise. He was so excited for the tasmanian tiger, but knowing that its fake.
You brought up many of the points I did when commenting on the Forrest's video, one thing I will say, I personally don't feel like Forrest is trying to pull one over or anything, The Thylacine is his Great white whale, he's gone on a bunch of expeditions looking for it, gets super excited about it, I feel he's just doing his due diligence to confirm or deny, at the start he seems very excited but as the video goes on you can tell he's believing less and less, I personally don't mind there being some kind of record kept as far as something real or if it's a hoax, plus since this is probably a hoax, there's a public record of the guy doing it and he won't be taken seriously in the future, that's one positive from this. Forrest has a You tube channel though, of course he wants clicks, every TH-camr does, you do, Mr. Beast does, it's literally no different than any other creator, at least though he's not taking this hook, line and sinker and is actually trying debunk stuff.
I agree with you. I was hoping by the end of his video he came to a conclusion or did some research into the photos but he didn't. That's what got me. He seemed to only truly be convinced by the photo that looked straight at the camera. In the photo the head is far too small in comparison to the body for it to be a thylacine. So it's up to other people to show that these are fake.
@@AGamingBeaver For sure man, I'm pretty sure most people are leaning towards hoax, at least I am, which is unfortunate, I would love to see something thought to be extinct make a come back, but for now it seems it's still extinct until real proof comes out.

I love that people are bringing attention to stuff like this, trying to see if a species is extinct to try to protect it, but hoaxes just arent helpful, and instead just make every video just seem like a clickbait hoax. Its like trying to prove the existance of an endangered species by catching it in a bear trap. This video is very adeptly edited to remove the explicit times Forrest says things are fishy, all the times he caught the guy slipping up. Well done, Beaver.
Although you’re right about them opening their mouths extremely wide, like very very wide. It’s not in the way of the photo as im sure you know. I'm gonna be honest I don't think beaver knows much about this topic but I do respect him covering it but forest galante is legit he's found extinct animals many times
So the thing is: that isn't actually true. A lot of the animals he 'rediscovered' were either never thought to be extinct, weren't ever valid or were rediscovered by someone else years before he did. The caiman was found a year earlier by a local herpentologist and the monkey was even photographed SEVEN YEARS before Forrest 'proved' its existence. Some, like the Zanzibar leopard, are also likely not real findings, as much as it pains me to admit it, given several details in how they went looking for it don't add up at all. The Javan tiger we can't give him credit for. People who didn't work with him discovered the evidence it might be still around. Forrest had zero impact on that discovery. Plus, there's already new evidence out that debunks the claim.
@@noelramirez1551 Did he? Sergio himself doesn’t appear in the episode, unless I’m misremembering. And while Forrest made promises of funding and helping Sergio and other local zoologists, according to said zoologists, no help really came from Forrest after that. No funds, no contacts, nothing. Forrest did give Sergio some shoutouts later, but all of these only occurred after the allegiations. Sergio discovered the caiman a year before Forrest did, so Forrest’s claims of discovering it were a lie from the start. It’s why he’s actually been blacklisted to.
@@megadracosaurus it's said he helped with the episode that could be anything from showing him the areas he can find the caiman to being the middle man for making sure Forrest and his crew had everything they needed while in Colombia idk I think he cares more about the fame and recognition more than actually preserving animals

The tortoise, caiman, and langur he “discovered” were all discovered and documented way before any of his ventures but he got credit for their rediscovery. We're probably gonna clone one in our lifetimes.
@@kakahass8845 I heard that they’re subjects for cloning. But why is cloning extinct animals harder than alive animals?
Why tho? It's literally the marsupial equivalent to canids. So much so that the skulls are almost identical.
Not to mention the fact that their extinction was the result of fearmongering caused by people deliberately spreading misinformation about the animal attacking livestock
@theangrysuchomimus5163 well they are a unique species for a marsupial. Both male and females have pouches, could rear up on their hind legs for a better view, open its jaw 80 degrees wide, and they make yip yap calls. I just find it's speacial features interesting, if you don't that's fine too
Also let’s not forget Forest ran in front of the researcher (who spent his life trying to find the last fernandina Galapagos tortoise) to grab the tortoise and say he himself found it. I love that in the beginning he claims a ranger from Queensland saw 4, however thylacines have never lived that far north, it's too warm for them. Evidence only shows them lived in south Australia, Victoria and of course Tasmania

i love the video and breaking down the obvious hoax however i think that you ended up villainizing forest a lot. the dude is most likely one of the single most important people when it comes to critically endangered species and extinct species rediscovery and conservation. The guy has rediscovered 8 formerly extinct animals such as the Zanzibar leopard and most popularly the Fernandina Island tortoise which hadn't been seen for 113 years. I highly encourage everyone to follow forest and his efforts. Forest is an extremely reputable source and while he may be overly excited about the Tasmanian tiger while watching the video you can see by his body language that he is extremely disappointed.
A lot of his videos are full with tons of misinformation. He is also really rude, he will catch all the fame for „finding“ a creature and literally running ahead of the camera while the guides that found the creatures (the tortoise for example) were pushed aside with no credit.

Forrest is not very legit. About the tortoises… check his Wikipedia/google searches to find out why he’s banned from the Galápagos.
The tortoise he ”found” was just a random already extant tortoise
No it wasnt WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT
Wait do you mean extant or extinct

"Like the while thing? It's almost an hour!". Reminds me when the Gaming Beaver made almost an hour long videos about the tournaments.
Tbf he has found previously thought to be extinct animals like most recently the javan tiger well helped find
@@megadracosaurusand the caiman had already been discovered by a Colombian scientist named Sergio and he helped Forrest on that episode
@@noelramirez1551 Did he? Sergio himself doesn’t appear in the episode, unless I’m misremembering.
