    Hi, Thank you for the nice video. You have always been great to explain everything concisely. But, whatever happened to the video for part numbers and the rebuild process? Did you hit some sort of a dead-end and decided not to publish the video? is it doable? Please let me know so I don't have to spin my wheels trying to do an undoable?

    Nice! I was going to take mine apart since I bought a big tube of the loctite rtv sealant, may not bother now that I've already seen see how it is on the inside 😂
    Mine is from an M112.912, and is somewhat simpler, with a single actuator for metal flaps, but has two metal vacuum valves on the front for the secondary air injection pump. Thanks for the video

    Yo Keith!
    Figured out why you never made a rebuild video. (maybe)
    Tore mine in half and found out the internal components were broken. Tumbler flap?
    Anyway, I searched EVERYWHERE for that specific part. Couldn't find it. They make actuator levers but that's about it. So I went to my local salvage yard (LKQ) and picked up a salvage manifold.
    Funny enough, the salvage one had a broken actuator lever. I had already purchased the repair lever online but couldn't use it for my old one so now I get to use it on the new one.
    Thanks always for the videos.

    On the older m113 models the vac hose is buried under the sealed part of the lower section. Any tips for breaking that RTV (assuming) sealed and seated section? I don't want to pry on it and bend anything. Only video I found was by an old Russian with no process to do the breakdown, just reassembly.

    I currently have my intake manifold removed in order to replace the actuator flap. Long story, but the part I ordered was not as advertised so I’ve attempted to make it work since I’m down and this is my daily driver. In the process, other old fragile plastic parts have broken. So now, I’m searching for all the replaceable plastic parts to rebuild the intake. However, they are difficult to find. Do you have any advice for me on finding replacement parts? Thx

      In my intake due to wear bank 1 runner flaps would get stuck open. Everything else is good outside just dirt inside and wear on the little white plastic bearings to call them so which hold the runner flaps in place. Some of them are missing actually.

    Yup. It's the mercedes designer making it cheaper and lighter. Suppose to be abs durable plastic. Same crap with the air intake acuator. I suppose they wanted you to replace this part but doesn't want to admit that it will fail over time since the oil fumes from the crank case pumps right back to it clogging it. Then again, they weren't expecting anyone to keep a mercedes that long as their normal clients would have trade in for a new model already.

  • @andreasortner2293
    @andreasortner2293 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    This seems a very clean manifold, I just took mine out, it’s a 2007c280, it has some oil residue on the inside. Well looks like the original one and 12years old. Also, I’ve been told it’s made out of magnesium and that’s why it’s so expensive. The hardest part on doing this repair is putting the intake back on top of the engine with out displacing the gaskets. I used some fishing line to secure the gaskets on to the manifold through the screw-holes, because those little push thingy secure buttons don’t hold them up good enough. You also can’t barely see if the gasket is in place after putting it back on. So paranoia;). Anyways, they car drives fine, after the first start the CEL was off but it came on again. I guess I still need to get the codes cleared or does anyone know if they will go away by themselves some time after the repair?

    U seems to know ur stuff on these intakes. So I’m getting code p2006
    All levers are in working order. So I think I have a fault with one of the switchover valves. The switchover valve that supplies vacuum to the middle diaphragm seems to never apply vaccuum when I command it with the scanner. I switched the switchover valves around and they both work. Unfortunately I can’t check vacuum when running because there’s no access
    But I did notice that the vacuum port coming off of the intake that goes to the passenger side switchover has no resistance when sucking through the port. Is irs the same? I was told those ports have internal check valve. So if that’s the case I have a failed check valve? Which is why I have no vacuum when actived.
