Thanks, for the reaction. Stairway to Heaven is definitely a song that can really be appreciated by anyone, even if they are not a fan of Rock or new to Rock. I was fortunate enough to see Led Zeppelin live twice in one week back in 1977 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Zeppelin wrote the book on hard rock, and heavy metal. They are the real deal, no band has been able to reach the heights that they reached

You have to do LED Z "Kashmir" Live at Celebration Day Concert. And for another great band and possibly the best guitar solo ever listen to Pink Floyd "Comfortably Numb" live at PULSE Concert. Pink Floyd and Lad Zeppelin are 2 of the dreastest Rock Bands ever with 2 completely different sounds

This was the lads at the peak of their power. The gods of rock n roll. If you should travel thru the library of Zeppelin, you'll find they really did it all in their 10 years. Heavy metal, love songs, ballads, folk songs, etc. Never boring. To me, the superlative rock band, the GOAT. All three surviving members are still out doing it, and not in a shy way. New subscriber. Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest bands, every member was a master of their craft… Robert plant (singer) knew how to use his god given voice. Jimmy page (Guitarist) not only is one of the greatest guitar players but he produced all their albums. John Paul jones (bass) was the handyman of the band, he could play any instrument. And John bonham (drummer) is still considered the greatest drummer in rock history… he sadly past away and that’s the reason the band broke up

Great music is great music regardless of the genre. What you just witnessed is one of the greatest rock bands ever, playing what is considered one of the greatest rock songs ever. The thing about Led Zeppelin is that they don't have a bad song in their catalogue. Several songs rival this one in their creativity, beauty and artistry. Each of these 4 men are the best of the best. I'll let others recommend songs. Just pick one, you won't go wrong.

Instrumentally, Led Zeppelin is what rockers call a power trio, It gives the three musicians room to work. That's why it feels like they are playing differently. They get to riff along with the structure of the song.

Led Zeppelin is among the great bands of this era, there are several which I will mention a couple, they may spark debate but these are among my personal favorites that you may enjoy as you explore rock and roll before moving into anything "heavy", Queen and Pink Floyd as they are like this band with songs that flow and are done by bands that feel the music. And with Queen it doesn't hurt having Freddie Mercury as the front man and his voice was amazing.
Thank God for mistakes. By that I mean, let it be human, let it breathe. Let it be real. This solo has mistakes and also moments of brilliance. They left it all in there. Thankfully. It's a gorgeous, emotional ride because of it.
Just watch Page's face during the solo and you can see this is a man suffering for his art; he stretches and reaches to squeeze out every possible emotion and makes his guitar sing, cry, wail, laugh and ultimately takes us on a journey of light and darkness, energy, motion and transcendence.

Here's a fun fact; the musician playing the keyboard""( mellotron ) is none other than John Paul Jones , probably the most underrated musician in history. He's not only playing keyboards, but he is ALSO playing bass with 4 foot pedals at the SAME TIME! Think about how incredibly hard that would be to do!

Hi Liz, great reaction if you want to hear Jimmy Page make that guitar cry, listen to “Since I’ve been living you” live from this same concert. It is Blues Rock at its finest and Robert Plant’s emotional singing will bring you to tears.
By the way the Double Neck guitar has 12 strings on top for that Haunting double string feel and the bottom neck has 6 strings for that rock shredding during the solo.

Do Led Zep - Kashmir, may surprise you.. Zep was so versatile, from bluesy, soft, to hard rock. From soft to complex almost classical acoustical arrangements. For different spectrums of this band, try "Kashmir" then "Thank You".. enjoyed the vid, thanks for sharing..!

That was a great reaction! You definitely have a good ear. Most people wouldn't recognize that the drums, played by John Bonham, we're different, un respect that he tended to accompany the guitar as opposed to the typical rhythm section of bass and drums. I think you are a blues and blues rock lover just by the fact that you got the stank face pretty quickly! A lot of people have preconceived notions of what rock and roll is without ever experiencing some of the best! I suggest Since I've Been Loving You live at Madison square garden! Also anything by Beth Hart live for a more contemporary blues rock sound.

Well, I do enjoy different type of genre in music but youre correct that most people, including myself have this misconception of what really Rock n’ roll really is. Led Zeppelin 4 was released today November 8th 1971 so this song is now 51 years old today and I’m 54 just to give you some perspective! Enjoy!
Also this will sound trivial to some but at 6:40 On here the full sound of the original Jimmy’s guitar and John Paul’s recorders and bass it reminds me of being baptized in the warm water of the church ⛪️ baptismal pool! It takes my breath away!

It's called a double neck guitar. Jimmy Page uses it when he needs to play both a 6 &12 string guitar in a song. With that guitar all he has to do is just move up to play the 12 string or down to play the 6 string. Jimmy Page improvised the guitar solo on the spot. You should check out Heart's cover of Stairway to Heaven from the Kennedy Center Honors program.

Chrome tune-o-matic bridges. Kluson tuners. Inlaid mother-of-pearl Gibson logos on headstocks.

Its a double neck. Jimmy had Gibson build him one for when they went out on tour. So when he was on stage he could tune each neck to whatever he wanted like say standard tuning on one and then down tune the other neck to drop D or something similar. Instead of having to keep switching out guitars. Jimmy Page was the first guitarist to ever own a doubleneck guitar.

I was just 14 when this concert happened. At the time parents didn't send their kids off to shows like this.
I am a little disappointed that 4 years later when they were back at the Garden I didn't get tickets.
I beg to differ - I think parents were much less protective (on the whole) than they are now. I went to an Alice Cooper concert and saw Elton John at 14 and my first Zeppelin concert at 15 - along with about a half-dozen of my friends, who were all around the same age. My parents (and my friends' parents) were not overly-permissive either - it's what teens (even young teens) did back then - at least where I grew up (L.A.)

Just knowing there are people out there that don't know who led leppelin are blows my mind.
This isn't even Zeppelin's best song, however... It is one of a handful of perfect songs written. This, Bohemian Rhapsody Queen, Paradise By the Dashboard Light Meatloaf, Dream On Aerosmith and Baba O'Reilly (Teenage Wasteland) The Who & War Pigs Black Sabbath. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. And I'm sure people's lists vary. Like I said the Crazy thing is. None of those are my favorite by that particular band. However they all truly descend time. Even my favorite band Floyd does not have that one perfect song. They are just top to bottom amazing. Most bands I listen to songs. With Floyd I listen to Albums.
