Sometimes in life one of a kind voices connect to create the sounds of the gods. Sir Robert is still a voice to reckon with. Alison is an Angel in human form. Such talent these two possess 😊
Wow……I think I would have teared up……one of my favorite tunes. Robert is so in tune and in control with his vocals. Aware of what he can and can’t get away with.
Plant has always been a blues singer -- even I, growing up in the rock years from the late 50s to the mid 80s recognized this. So were the early Stones songs, along with The Who and the Moody Blues, and a lot of other so-called "rock groups" who had their roots in the blues. Listen to groups like Chicago, Styx, The Buckinghams, - even the Beatles - etc. -- they all used blues music to enhance the "new" rock genre. It was always new music drawn from old rhythms.
Watch the interview for Brian Johnson's show where he interviews Plant...Robert looks exactly like someone from long ago...some mystical, legendary place in British Isles...
I saw this live at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. I've seen Robert Plant a bunch of times. I was never a big Alison Krause fan, but she gained my respect with her performance on this song. Long live Robert Plant!
I never heard her voice before and WOW is it awesome!!! Imagine being able to sing with the legend of rock=Plant! What an amazing performance! Loved it
She has 26 Grammy for a reason. At o e time she had the most for a female artist. Beyonce beat her sadly. Not that Beyonce isn't good but alison is better in my opinion.
Robert Plant yelled from a hotel balcony "I am a golden god!" Here is a golden god with a golden goddess in an undeniably brilliant collaboration. Talent beyond words...
We worked the Cajun & Bluegrass festival in the 80s/90s. It was a small festival with 5000 or so in attendance. The stage was a tiny, covered thing only rising up about six inches off the ground. Alison and Union Station closed on that last night. Halfway through their set the power went out and since it was a very low budget affair, there was no backup generator. They finished the set acoustically, moving to the very edge of the stage as the audience scrunched together seated on the dirt. It was a memory.
We need much much more of this kind of music. Writers please come forth. We need anthems like this and others to light the fires of a new age of peace following the violence that awaits us. These musical geniuses have blessed us, be not in doubt.
@Shawn Everidge Better camera work than most professionally shot videos. The pan and zoom was almost imperceptible. The shots anticipated were I want to look. Well Done Thank you.
I made the tough decision when we saw them at Bethel Woods... I did not shoot this song. I wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. I also, was in tears by the end and Goosebumps. I did, in my opinion... Get a pretty good version of When the Levee Breaks! Another classic 🙂 Overall, a stunning performance from first song to last 💜
It has just been announced that they will be headlining the Edmonton Folk Music Festival in August. I will be there, with bells on and my curls bouncing in the breeze.
Wow, love it all. Robert Plant with Alison Krauss, and some awesome musicians, simply amazing. Imagine this with only Page, Plant, Jones, and Bonham. Wild and iconic musicians.
Luvvvvvvvvvvv❤❤❤ I have to edit this now that I’ve listen to the whole thing all the way through. I do believe this is one of the best renditions with Alison I’ve heard thus far absolutely stunning, bravo 👏❤Robert giving it all he’s got at the end. Love it love it.
Sorry 😢I missed seeing them so close to home! This group is magic to my ears. Watched Alison when she was at Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield KS. What an evolution for them all. Thanks for sharing this version. One of my all time favorites that was unearthed after having forgotten it. I cannot get enough of them
In 2006, I was hit by an emotional tsunami (as a close friend worded it). My wonderful husband passed away, my son was deployed to Afghanistan, I was laid off from a job that I loved, and the engine in my vehicle seized up. This song spoke to me at that time.
I never get/got that feeling of awe when meeting anyone. We are all the same, mostly, I wish I could shake Roberts hand! The only person in the world I’m see struck at. I would love to be him, even for a day. What song of Led Zeppelin sucks? None
Robert aged well. He reminds me of what I would imagine King Arthur would look like.
& Allison is wearing a medieval style dress, to match his style & the song’s!
Robert is my fav!!! But that was funny. I get it 😂
He looks like King Theoden
I LOVE that and YES!
like an oak - a monument
Alison has the voice of an angel. Robert is one of my favorite lead rock vocalists of all time. God had to be involved in putting these two together.
God and TBone Burnett
Otherworldly. I love it when music and vocals paralyze and cleanse my soul. Plant, Krause, and a mandolin…I’m 68yo and this is badass❤
I will turn 66 next week my friend and I totally agree!
A mere 57, but both were on my bucket list long before their collaboration. I'll be there 6/11/24 in Des Moines, IA!
❤️❤️❤️
Robert Plant is a Rock Star in every sense of the world ~ A Rock God! I’ve seen him about 9 times counting Led Zeppelin & he is Immortal
7 times including 4 with Zeppelin and I agree.
A true testament to the fact that classics never die
Robert Plant still has his most distinct voice...BRAVO!
Sometimes in life one of a kind voices connect to create the sounds of the gods. Sir Robert is still a voice to reckon with. Alison is an Angel in human form. Such talent these two possess 😊
well said , full agreement
Robert Plant,, His Voice Is Still Wonderful...
Robert still has that power to his voice.
Still get chills with thre opening riffs of mandolin. Mr. Plant an Icon.
LOVE THE MANDOLIN!
It really embellishes this song, does it not? Stellar! 💫💫

The indian girl gave this song more atmosphere
@@pixie706 Sandy Denny was English
@@steveelder5306 i mean I prefer Najma ..forgot her name initially
Not an Alison fan...much preferred the Indian lady's voice.
I never heard her voice before and WOW is it awesome!!! Imagine being able to sing with the legend of rock=Plant! What an amazing performance! Loved it

I love this song. It's so underrated.

Great talent is greatly appreciated.
@@AlisonKrauss-mz8fr I am from Edison, NJ, which happens to be the Birthplace of the Phonograph Record! Where are you from?
That was absolutely wonderful! They should do a solid back to back set of every Led Zeppelin song that references Tolkien's works...
Brought them back in a short, thank you🎉

When voices blend in harmony...
That was the most beautiful tribute I've ever seen!! Very well produced and performed. I hope Led Zeppelin has seen it.
Unless I’m missing something in your comment, that WAS Robert Plant (lead singer of Led Zeppelin), so pretty sure at least one of them saw it 😊
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I second your comment that wasn’t a tribute that was it, Robert Plant in the flesh, killing it
Whew! Goosebumps…

One of the better Zep songs
So depressed. Somehow managed to miss them being here. Thank you so much for the recordings.
