Great review matey!, dual 18650 batteries is interesting, saying that, the feiyue battery packs are 2 18650 bats joined with a balance lead, i like the idea of 2 independant batteries as theres loads of ah's to choose from, i vape so im used to 18650's, if ya carefull you can recycle old laptop battery packs for them!, the best to look for( on ebay) are samsung, lg , sony and the purple efest's, as all of those are what they say they are, not inflated numbers (amps) to make them seem better than they are. Keep those reveiws a rolling!, always a good watch!. All the best matey.
18650 can be found on Amazon. Just make sure you search up the correct voltage, the Panasonic brand has circuit protection and the chargers can be found on Amazon.
I spoke to the sales rep at TomTop about whether or not you could use a higher mah battery. His response was NO. Nothing higher than a 1500 which is a bummer as I was hoping to use my higher 4000mah batteries. If you want more power then you’d need to use a bigger esc and probably a larger motor to accommodate it I would say. But who knows, the dogbones may not be able to handle the extra torque.
I think it has more to do with the size of the battery compartments. The Mah is capacity for more run time....and the larger the number...usually the larger the battery

Thanks for the timely response, I’ve actually got this on order as it seemed like decent quality for the money and I’m interested in the oil filled shocks on this thing as I already own the Eagle 3 which is a real treat. it's been fun watching you driving this truck. I have question for you. I got mine 3-4 months ago, love it. however, the battery that comes with it died for some reason. what kind of battery should I get? or should I upgrade the battery and go with those 7.4v? please advise
This uses two 18650 3.7v batteries running in series to give you 7.4v power. You could rewire it and change the connectors to run a 7.4v pack if you want, but the 18650 3.7v batteries are pretty cheap on amazon.

The motor upgrade brushless is almost 15 mph faster got 42 on two batteries 58 on three

Jahmen RC Think the one you're thinking of is the HBX Thruster. Very different though they share the size 1/12 and the same style of body/lights.

Yes. Just need to make sure it is the same dimensions so that it fits in the battery compartment.

I tried 5000 mah batteries wouldn’t run with stock esc but the upgraded one they work with and it can take three calls
if you cent find it i know of the chargers for it
those battery looks like 1865 batters you look any vape shop in va they will have a charger for that battery's
