a bit of a cringey concept but i have the headcannon that one of my oc´s ( his name is tanizaki after the famous japanese author ) who is the phanthom thief with the power of transformation ( he is a raccondog that explains his powers in japanese lore) , Reguarly disguises himself and steals food from the cat´s restaurant and the oldest of his teammates has to lecture him about stealing stuff ( his teammates are named muse and metaal , and muse calls him the idiotic tanuki ) and metaal is amazed by the food he brought them.

Strelka and Belka sound definitely like female words. I don't know what's up with the gender neutral stuff
@@Milomannz different cultures have different opinions on what sounds feminine and what doesnt. in english we consider names that end with -a to be feminine, but russian doesnt share the same preconceptions. for example, the name sasha. its typically feminine in english speaking countries, but typically masculine in slavic countries. strelka and belka are presumably the same.
@@hunterfunnyguy I'm slavic and Belka is a "female word" around here. I'm not sure if it's really a name because it means plank, but I thought it could sound rather feminine for a slavic word.
We have a shortened version of Jakub (Jacob) - Kuba.
The name is masculine, but if it's used for mentioning the country Kuba (Cuba), it's feminine.
If we have a plank (Belka), then it's feminine. But if that's some guys name, then it will be masculine.
Also our names Wiktor(Victor). It can be shortened to Wiki, which is both masculine and feminine (From Wiktoria)
The third one is a bit off the path (sorry I love your name), but I hope you understand my point of view.

Maulty just looks so much like a pure little dumpling boi i can't stop smiling, i really needed that today.
11:19 Also one of another iconic character with the teal and yellow combo is Rosalina and Luma. And funny enough she's from space too lol. Although she doesn't use yellow in her own design apart from maybe her wand. He and Luma are paired up a lot so they are like a duo.

Hmmm...how about this:
-KB could be a hired mercenary for Eggman and Slickus/possible rival for Rebound.
-Maulty could be Rebound and HBO’s boss (what with Rebound originally being a food retail mascot, maybe he works in the kitchen and soccer is just a side-career) or maybe their adopted father (We need more mixed families in the Sonic universe)
-And the space twins could be the boys best friends or close allies. Say their planet (Thought about them maybe being aliens) gets attacked/mixed up in one of the Eggman theme parks, the boys save the planet and they decide to help them stop Eggman’s schemes.

I think that not only are they siblings, but Belka and Strelka could be twins! Fraternal twins obviously because they have different color placement, but something about them makes me go "oh, twins!"

Headcanons for Sonic(-style) designs:
Rebound is the main character of the spinoff game where these characters can be found.
Meanwhile, Slick (Slickus) the Shrew is the main villain.
Obee is Rebound's little brother and an NPC seen occasionally in the game.
Maulty Manx is a friendly NPC who provides food for Rebound to heal himself with.
Killer Bee is a (recurring?) boss who Slick hired to deal with Rebound.
Strelka and Belka the Dogs are two more player characters, or at least NPC allies.
And all throughout, it's made clear that this game takes place in the same universe as the canon Sonic games.
Rebound and obedient could be related to sonic in some way like cousins or nephews

i think this batch of redesigns was my favorite yet, tho the standout for me is def Strelka and Belka (YAY TRANS REP!). the y2k clear plastic look (god i miss early 2000s fashion), the color schemes, the space motif, THE FACT THAT THEIR HEADS ARE STAR SHAPED its all so great! You really did that!

You did an awesome job on all of them! I especially liked the last pair - the color schemes work really well, and the background info is nice!
Quick note on Russian, though - it's one of those languages that gives its nouns a grammatical gender. So, the nouns themselves can be divided into masculine, feminine, or neuter category (basically, you can replace a noun with a 'he', 'she', or 'it' among other things). Based on that, feminine nouns can give feminine names for animals.
Meaning of a word may, but doesn't have to play, into a noun's gender, and a grammatical gender is something that I think will always be lost upon translating into a language that doesn't do that at all.
Just thought I'd put it in here so you'd know.

Yeah, that first one is definitely firework packaging. Although the legality of mortar shells depends entirely on state legislation since they're just gunpowder charges and not high explosives.

The killer bee and the cute chef cat would make for great canon characters. I also really like belka and strelka, but I think if the plastic parts on their outfits were pink or orange (taken from the cream looking girl on the original design) it wouldve made it even better

How do you color something so it looks clear and see through like at 11:40 ?
I’m an “artist-in-Training” you could say and making clearings like colored windows and stuff is something that has been bothering me a lot .
Any tips or something?
Transparency is a feature on most digital art programs.
You basically make a new layer and find the opacity adjuster and lower it. If it’s still not enough you can lower it.
