- Welcome to the first "episode" of Sonic Sketchbook! A new series where I redesign Sonic characters in various situations, such as how they'd look genderbent, how their future kids could look like and what certain characters would look like in the Modern Sonic games! Let's begin with Sonia and Manic from Sonic Underground!

I've seen people do this super cute thing where all the siblings' eyes are each other's fur colors (Sonic's are green, Manic's are magenta, and Sonia's are blue)
I've seen that too and I love that idea! It's so sweet and cute, while it also seems kinda symbolic, showing how the three are connected to each other.
I actually really liked Sonic Underground, like unironically liked it.

Same. I liked it a lot. I’d say it’s a middle tier show as I enjoyed it more than Adventures and Boom but not as much as the other TV shows. Plus I liked the original characters such as Sonic’s family.

8:10 If someone's ever planning on rebooting/reviving Sonic Underground, but make it ten times better than the original - since Ducktales 2017 reboot - they should definitely hire you for the job as Character Designer! Because these look legit!

And here I thought Underground was just a weird fever dream. But I always remembered Sonia being my favorite. I just wished she had a different VA because they were voiced by Steve Urkel

Sigh... I wish they could bring them back, even just once... Sonic Underground, and mainly Manic for me, was (and still is) my absolute LOVE.
I really love these redesigns! They fit really well in the Modern Sonic design sensibility. I'd be interested to see you continue with the sonic underground route! Maybe redesign Sleet and Dingo? Just a suggestion. I still really love this video!!!
Sonic's brother and sister needs to come back in the future
Do you have an idea on how to get these characters back from the stubborn writers and artists of SEGA? No matter how much we say it, they don't give a damn which I'm close to having their business ruined.
They're nice enough, but the lack of shading makes them look a bit awkward.
I wish Sega would bring these two back. I loved Sonic Underground as a kid and the dynamic the three had going on.
I had zero hesitation clicking on this video. Sonic Underground was that weird lost show from my childhood that was only uncovered through the use of yahoo answers. I didn’t exactly hesitate in buying the complete DVD set at the dollar store a few years later either. And yea, it’s a bit cringey, but the trio has a nice dynamic and I personally find the show interesting.

Sonic Underground was my introduction to the sonic franchise, for better or for worse. I love these redesigns so much. They bring the characters to life so well.
Nice work. Good to see sonics.soblings get some more love. Personally since idk what the eye color of their father is, but if Queen Aleena had purple and assuming his father had green eyes, I think the boys would have the green eyes while Sonia has her mother's purple. That or they all have hazel/brown if you go by a grown up classic look, rather than the modern look.
I love 'em! I can see them struttin' down the sidewalk of Station Square with Sonic and Tails! Sonia carrying Tails and locked in conversation with Sonic and him, while Manic is constantly trolling everyone on the street. XD
i remember coming here has a child and hearing the sonic dub of the 20 years later thing, i'm glad this channel is still up and running. Has for the character designs they where absolutely lovely!,tho i do think manic seems like the fingersless glove type.
Omg I cant believe I forgot about this channel! I was rewatching Ask the Sonic Heros and when I clicked the link to your channel, I remembered how much I loved watching your videos! In fact watching your videos helped me make my own sonic characters! I’m so happy I found this again and I am happy you are still energetic as ever! Keep up the awesome videos!
Totally love to see your take on Archie, Fleetway, or IDW characters some time. These designs are really swell, and I will admit, definitely something Sega would greenlight, no doubt about it. I will say that if I were to redesign Sonia, I'd keep the messy bang look and have it be a lot more extravagant like it was in the cartoon. But regardless, I think the short quills look really nice on her, and the redesigned attire, whilst it's not redrawn entirely, is also immensely well-drawn, and I think adding more pearls onto the belt also adds a bit more definition to it, and brings out the regal princess angle a bit more. As for Manic... what can I say? The dude looks awesome, regardless of who draws him.

I do unironically enjoy Sonic Underground
Well, Manic is a bit of a wild card. Hes always ready for an adventure and has a lot of energy! I admire her sense of freedom and the way she marches to the beat of her own drum. But sometimes I think hes should try to take it slow for a bit and just enjoy life in the present moment
They're great I agree with giving manic brown eyes as a brown eyed guy myself and giving him blue eyes would make him look like scourge
Yeah I love them. SPD giving him brown eyes was a good move on her part cuz Manic would look even more like Scourge than he already does. Also I love your profile pic lol

Well in Sonic Boom Sonic seem to like Amy for somereason besides Archie Sonic is Different from Modern Sonic and Boom Sonic sooo.....we must not lose hope for Sonamy! Still Silvaze for life!

When I was in the Sonic fandom, I used to ship my OC with Sonia because nobody gave her much attention. I felt sorry for her. :c
That and because last thing I wanted was to join the trainwreck that was the Sally vs Amy debate from raging fans.

These are Cool residesigns. Just one thing. You realize that many artists have Manic Red eyes at some point right and these days most artists give Manic Blue eyes. Anyway this is great Art Work. Thank You for this great Art.😁😊😊
Sonic Underground was the reason I like Sonic, it was the first Sonic show I watched and the thing that got me into it. I really wished Sonia and Manic were in the games despite them being only exclusive to the shows...

Sorry to be quite the late viewer but I love these redesigns, as a 90's kid I grew up with Sonic Underground (and I still watch it today) and I have to say I would love to see the return to Sonia and Manic in today's games, even Sonic's buddy Cyrus then again that could just be the child in me
Damn! Manic and Sonia in Modern Sonic style? Damn! Somebody render this with Maya and RenderMan. It would look very interesting with Paramount-style fur and Modern game designs combined.

These are awesome redesigns for sonia and manic. If sega decide to make them canon go the games best guess they should be from and alternate universe remiicent to the archie comics were along their big bro, sally and knuckles are part of the freedom fighters since underground seem to be loosely takes place in a similar scenario were eggman was making cyber animals and enslaving the planet.

I think Sonia and Manic Should have their backstory being changed And not be related to each other or sonic.
For my idea: they met each other at a young age when they were kidnapped by sleet.
Sleet: Unlike his TV version, He's more competent, ruthless ruthless, Emma and lacks any comic relief or leave or redeeme qualities, similar to robot satam. He used to have a partner named dingo, comma until he murdered him from petty reasons.
Sonia: She was one of the Royal families until they were killed by either sleet or infinite. Like her version, she has enhanced strength and is skilled in hand to hand combatant.
Manic: he's the hybrid of zeti and mobian and was raised by either pirates, banbits or other crimminal orginaization. Like the zeti's species, manic has the power to manipulate magnetic fields, controlling machine and electronics.

Also sweet redesign on Sonic’s siblings, i always did wonder how they would be if they stayed from the show in modern games, I say you captured them very perfectly like this, the two do stand out well, so was Awsome to see the design work, definitely got a lot of practice if to make good sonic art, so once more, sweet work, and looking forward to future projects
