    “Aerospace grade” titanium is traditionally specific grade of titanium. Grade 4 to be specific in the Apple Watch ultra. Its an unalloyed CP titanium. Where Grade 5 titanium is a blend of titanium, aluminum, and vanadium. You usually see grade 2 or grade 5 in normal mechanical watches. Grade 2 tends to be darker and rougher in finish. Grade 5 tends to be brighter and more polishable.

    I know it sounds silly to some, but there are different alloys. They’re used for different purposes. There are aerospace aluminum alloys, aerospace stainless and aerospace titanium. Does it matter for a phone? Remember a few years ago first Apple, then Samsung and other phones were found to be bendable? Well, Apple went to 7075 aerospace aluminum and the bending stopped, because it’s twice as strong as more often used alloys. I assume that other companies did as well. Same with stainless, strong and weaker alloys. Titanium 2 is weak while titanium 5 is strong.

    Given that Tim Cook is the previous COO and primary handled supply chain, my bet that given the fact that if you can buy a crap ton of anything it becomes cheaper per unit, it would probably be USB-C for both. • @bosstowndynamics5488
      @bosstowndynamics5488 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thunderbolt being trademarked isn't a barrier to using it, Apple codeveloped the standard and uses the official trademark on their ARM Macs. The biggest barrier is that they would need to design a PCIe interface and Thunderbolt controller into the much smaller A series phone processors, and there wouldn't be any real benefit (the jump from 480Mbps USB2 to 20Gbit USB speeds is already plenty of bandwidth for a phone).

      What would you use Thunderbolt for on a phone though? No one's running an eGPU on iOS, and pretty much everything else you would do is just about raw bandwidth, with Apple up to this point having considered 480Mbps USB2 to be plenty. Plus, there's no M chip in the iPhone so they would either have to have a hilariously underclocked and cut down M2 or design a PCIe controller into their A series processors

    I’d bet Lightning on standard, USB-C on the Pro. Still think Apple want to drop the port from the standard and go with MagSafe only for charging, so it’d be risky to put USB-C on the standard then take it away in a generation or two. And god help you if you want to play or something during that time because it'll be troublesome to play with a magsafe in the back. Plus it heats up the phone so much it would just kill the battery. Apple does not make any money off usb c accessories so they might end up going the magsafe route as a replacement for lightning and in order to have usb c, you would need to buy a magsafe accessory or magsafe accessories. For example, the magsafe accessories would have a usb c port, but if you wanna buy a power bank, the power bank would have to be magsafe with usb c ports. I even had to use my mobile data hotspot since it was faster than wifi we used. We did not have comcast, we had the slow century link or some other kind of internet provider for slow wifi since comcast would not install wifi but the people in charge did not want to pay for comcast faster internet since the company was being very cheap and we were told by comcast that comcast would have to charge extra to install extra equipment just to have faster internet. Dealing with e-sims was a terrible experience and was annoying to deal with since the e-sim requires a qr code to activate but some qr codes would say that it's already used even though the qr code was just sent to the customers email and it would happen multiple times with multiple people that I was helping and the qr code can only be used once. To makes matter worse, when the customer was trying to activate the e-sim over the phone with customer service, there lines would automatically get disconnected in the middle of the activation process. Even certain model of iPhone 14 models that came from outside the U.S. would not activate the e-sim since it was having issues with trying access the network even though everything is up to date and I even had customer service over the phone helping me try to troubleshoot the issues with an e-sim and the only option that would work would to buy a new physical sim card. However, all iPhones starting with the iPhone x and newer requires an e-sim activation since cricket wireless would not take physical sim cards for iPhones unless the iPhones were having issue with the e-sim. There would be people that had to use there older iphones instead of the newer iPhones since the issues with activating an e-sim were too common and the only way to use an iPhone would be using an older version of the iPhones that only accept physical sim or older iPhones that were older than the iPhone x. I did the necessary steps when trying to activate an e-sim for iPhones even with certain models of the iPhone 14 models over the phone with the help of customer service but nothing worked. Using e-sims was a pain in the ass to deal with, physical sim cards can be locked for security but you would need to know the puk code to unlock the sim card otherwise customer service over the phone is the only way to unlock the puk code. There is no option to unlock the puk code in stores since it requires the help from customer service over the phone since customer service over the phone can provide the puk code to unlock the sim card, if you did not want to deal with customer service to get the puk code, you could always buy a new sim card.

It's why I prefer niche products like audiophile companies since they are interchangeable with each other however there is snake oil. I don't go very deep in the rabbit hole in my audiophile hobby otherwise I would be addicted like nicotine in cigarettes. I'm already addicted to 4k since 2014 lol. My sony xperia 1 iv android phone has a 4k oled 120 hz display, my 2022 razer blade 15 has 4k at 144 hz has an ips display, my samsung chromebook has a 4k super amoled display. I play pc games only in 4k whether or not the game/games have ray tracing.

    Thinner Bezels....do we care? Hmm I would have to say form should follow function. I am wondering what effect this will have on repairability? Are we reaching the point where the phone screen is just not repairable? I am hoping that the European Union will step in and mandate screen repair, battery replacement should be consumer-repairable and replaceable items. Thinner bezels will make a phone less repairable. It has been reported that Apple is having issues with manufacturing phones with thinner bezels. This portends issues with the repair and replacement of damaged screens.

    Maybe replacing the mute switch with an action button would force Apple to rethink the entire notification/sound muting system, which honestly was behind the curve already ten years ago. Android had a do-not-disturb mode that disables all sound coming from the phone (but allows sound in headphones) for either a set amount of time or until the alarm for ages. It's not a difficult concept. And while hey're at it, the alarms can also be completely trashed and implemented from scratch. 😀

    A term like "aerospace grade titanium" would mean it has to meet and be certified compliant to a particular specification. Not that any random titanium could be used for an aerospace application that specifies titanium to a particular specification.
    So even if your chunk of titanium meets the aerospace spec; absent the certification it is not useable in the application that calls for titanium to the spec.

    The island gets in the way of a lot of things, get rid of it. I am a driver and when I get notifications, I have to get rid of it it to view my important app. Annoying. And color doesn't mean anything because everyone, me included hates the slick coating of the phone itself, everyone buys a cover that either simply just looks cool to protect it or an expensive one that looks cool plus is impact resistant. The most important thing I would like to see is 1) TRUE Gorilla Glass Impact Resistance so we don't have to go out and spend another $50 on DBRAND and C charging. Another huge plus would be a better way to have multi screen applications. I am many others are starting to become independent business owners / drivers and to have a phone that can handle more than 1 app open at a time would be amazing. Functioning split screen.

    what they really need to add is individual volume sliders for ringtones and notification sound alerts , then go to alarm clock add another volume slider.. then really over haul the DND function and the focus function cause really do not need 2 things that can do the same job, and because of this cause issues with the ios software for not knowing what to do with notifications eg when both these are disable , you can get a notification pop up with no sound alert , due to ios not know what to do.. Also add a battery that last longer then a day no one really cares if the iphone going to be a little thicker or taller this is proven with screen size getting larger and ppl are still buying them. For the dynamic island just get rid of the notch you already acknowledge its a eye sore , and trying to hide it with dynamic island which really is a useless function that cant really do anything great.

    They’ll have to put usc-c in all or they won’t be able to sell all models worldwide. Not only eu has ongoing regulations about this.
    And they won’t lose money on lightning accessories at all… there are tons of lightning iPhones and iPads still active for years ahead that will need lightning support - most of people don’t care about this at all and won’t upgrade their phones because of this! Most of people will only upgrade their phones for vanity or out of need. The truth is the phone loop is longer than ever. Phones from 3, even 4 years ago are still pretty good for the majority of consumers
