  • 1 can chickpeas and 1 sweet potato! Simple and delicious chickpeas recipe. One of the easiest chickpea recipes I know! Simple and delicious recipe everyone can make at home!     🥣Roasted chickpeas ingredients:
    120g | 4.5oz | 1/2 cup chickpeas (1/2 can)
    1 onion
    1tsp paprika
    1tsp ground cumin
    1/2tsp garlic powder
    1/2tsp Korean chilli flakes (Gochugaru)
    pinch of salt
    1tbsp oil
    🥣 Chickpea and sweet potato base ingredients:
    120g | 4.5oz | 1/2 cup chickpeas (1/2 can)
    250g | 9oz | 1 sweet potato
    1 onion
    1tbsp oil
    black pepper to taste
    1/2tsp Korean chilli flakes (Gochugaru)
    pinch of salt
    4tbsp chickpea flour
    🥣topping ingredients:
    2tbsp tomato sauce or salsa
    dairy-free cheese
    chopped fresh parsley
    🧑‍🍳Cooking tips:
    ❗Feel free to add your favourite herbs and spices to the recipe to get your favourite flavour.
    ❗ If you do not have Korean chilli flakes (gochugaru) you can substitute it for crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper (reduce the amount in half as gochugaru is milder).
    ❗You can substitute Salsa sauce for pesto sauce.
    ❗For oil-free recipe use water or vegetable stock instead of oil.
    🥣 Method:
    Add 120g | 4.5oz | 1/2 cup chickpeas (1/2 can) to a baking dish.
    Slice 1/2 onion and add to the baking dish.
    Season with 1tsp paprika, 1tsp ground cumin, 1/2tsp garlic powder,
    1/2tsp Korean chilli flakes (Gochugaru), a pinch of salt and 1tbsp oil.
    ℹ️Korean chilli flakes (gochugaru) can be substituted for for crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
    ℹ️For oil-free recipe use water or vegetable stock instead of oil.
    Mix well and roast in the preheated oven at 390F | 190C for 30 minutes.
    Mash 120g | 4.5oz | 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas (1/2 can).
    Peel and grate 250g | 9oz | 1 sweet potato.
    Grate 1 onion and add to gated sweet potato.
    Add 1tbsp oil.
    Season with black pepper to taste, 1/2tsp Korean chilli flakes (Gochugaru) and pinch of salt.
    Combine and mix in 4tbsp chickpea flour.
    ℹ️ Be careful not to add too much flour.
    Heat a little oil in a non stick skillet and add the mixture.
    Cook on a low heat with the lid on for about 7 minutes.
    Flip over to other side and spread with 2 tbsp tomato sauce, salsa or pesto sauce.
    ℹ️The bottom of the mixture should be golden and still soft. 👩‍🍳 Do not worry about the veg base cooling, it holds its shape well.
    Add roasted chickpeas and some dairy-free cheese.
    Add some chopped parsley or cilantro.
    Cook on low heat with the lid on for about 7 minutes.
    Let it cool down.
    Cut into wedges and enjoy this delicious chickpeas recipe! 😋

    Excellent recipe that I really should try out. I’m used to Swiss Roesti made with grated regular potatoes, but this version looks so tasty!     Just made this for the second time and it was even better than the first time!! Love it, other than subbing the tomato sauce for my fave pesto, I followed recipe exactly as written. Thanks for a wonderful different taste profile, so different than most of the recipes I see here in the US. Not that our food is bad, it's just different :)

    Just made this for lunch. I used half the cayenne pepper. I used pesto instead of tomato sauce. It was very good! I would probably cut the cayenne a little more. I like to taste all the flavors without the heat overpowering everything. Yum!

      she used Korean chilli .. dont know what that is but cayenne would be extra, she also used paprika.. which is not hot..Cayenne has a different heat than chilli and is bitter hot.. im a lover of chilli (enjoy small whole chilli or 1-2 sliced just to myself- love a hot chilli pikled right from the jar..) and would not use that much cayenne.

      you would indeed require the kitchen sink for the clean up process so you arent wrong there. this recipe primarily requires ingredients that most already have in their pantry, or their substitutes! each to their own though😁🫶⭐️
      please dont eat your kitchen sink!

    I made this twice my family loves it. I use a processor for less prep time. I don't have chickpea flour, so I use all-purpose flour, which requires more to maintain shape. Chicken peas flour is probably better. Thank you for sharing. Love to watch prep.

      sweet potato and chickpeas are the primary ingredients in this recipe. I like to show recipes with flavour, hence the inclusion of all other ingredients. feel free to omit those, if thats your personal preference!😸💗⭐️

    Some what smaller in size is called chole tikki in India. More spices are also put but this also good chole or kabuli chana will be more prominent.

Using a high powered blender blend the chickpeas for about2 minutes until fine and the consistency of flour. Sieve the chickpea flour to remove any lumps.You can store your home made chickpea flour in a labeled airtight container for 8 weeks or even in the fridge.

    May I offer a humble suggestion
    I prefer to use fresh chickpeas which I soak overnight for about twelve hours before cooking and I add a 1/4 tsp.baking soda.

    I just made & unfortunately I couldn’t get it to not stick to bottom of pan & come out on a plate as easy as you did. Not sure if I used too big of a sweet potato and if I did, maybe I should’ve put more chickpea flour in regardless it has a great flavor and I will make this again. I’m not sure if anybody knows this answer I’m doing Weight Watchers and I wouldn’t know how many points to count this has, does anybody have all the nutrition information? I would love to post a picture, but it doesn’t let me. It looks good in the frying pan but I just can’t get it out like a pie again delicious flavor.

      The recipe doesn’t use paprika. :)
      The red spice you see is Korean chilli flakes. If you can’t have any peppers, I think some cumin could work for flavouring.

    I’ve asked many people and no one ever answers, how do avoid -stop gas ⛽️ from chickpeas? 🙏🏼 I don’t eat them anymore because I suffer

      Many people get gas from beans. And probably even more so if your body is not acclimated to eating them. It seems to me that it would be caused by your digestion and your micro biome in your gut. First, chewing and the saliva must begin the process (starches begin digesting in the mouth). So, chew well! (It is also possible to slip off the skin of the chickpea between your fingers to remove that fiber. Takes time but it might help). Next, is how strong is your digestion? Your HCL (hydrochloric acid) and your enzymes and bike production? An herbal digestive bitter might help here. Lacto fermented vegetables may actually help with digestion over time. You can make your own sauerkraut or kimchi. Lastly, it is important to soak dried beans over night, pour off that rinse water and then add fresh water to pressure cook with a small piece (one inch square) of kombu seaweed. Hope these suggestions help!

      You could try to get rid of the outer peel by rubbing the cooked chickpeas between your hands. The peels are fiber that might be heavy on your gut if you are not used to them. Also add cumin, fennel seeds and ginger to your cooking, those are spices that are supposed to prevent bloating. Start with small portions if you are not used to legumes and chew them really thoroughly.

Do not use canned/tinned cooked chickpeas, use raw chickpeas and soak them in water for 12 hours before cooking. Then cooked them and use in a recipe.
