My only concerns regarding the rooms are that the “study nooks” is are way too small!! Teenagers need space and light to study, so being sequestered into a narrow corner is not great. I would be much better to have a long desk with plenty of bookshelf space and a window for inspiration. Additionally, no child needs two beds, I feel as if it’s just a waste of space that will just gather dust throughout the week.
Florence Mouille Teenagers do need two beds. My parents got me a second bed because of all my sleepovers and friends....also my own room phone (before cellphones) and I literally had the coolest setup. My friends always appreciated a sleepover space and my mom was happy because it meant I was spending time at home.
I think they are a great size and space, its a good reminder to keep study/computer time minimal. Also, kids have friends sleep over all the time, if not their friends then relatives so i think its a great use of space
I agree. I think that a decent space to study id more important than additional bed. I mean, if there is space for that then do it. But if not focus on the important stuff
The extra bed gives an option for Harley to move into his brothers room if he ever grew out of his tiny room. Then a little study area is given to the kids! Not to mention the desk in the downstairs guest room/sitting area is a working space for them too
As a middle child, I felt forgotten about and given short shrift so often growing up, and even into adulthood. I agree wholeheartedly that they did the middle child dirty. They nixed a cool bed for budget reasons??? What about all the money spent elsewhere? Spend a little on him, for heaven's sake!
Agreed. Also, they'd call the eldest and youngest children by their names and referred to the middle child as The Middle Child. Sure, they mentioned his name, but there was so much emphasis on The Middle Child and "poor him". I'll bet when the kid watches this video, it'll sting to hear them speak that way about him. I feel so badly for him.
Love all of their designs but a lil bit disappointed that they didn’t add some hidden storage/drawers into the stairs of Jade’s bunk bed. Either way, can’t wait for the finale and to see the family’s reaction 😍
lol I was thinking the same. I would have either have the treads of the stairs open up for hidden storage or made the side of the stairs be shelves Or maybe even do both for tons of storage.
The eldest sons bedroom is stunning! When I seen it it gave me such beachside vibes and was so calming, I love it, you women have really outdone yourselves, this is so inspirational!
Kai got it too good I’d forever hold a grudge as a sibling 😭😭😂 and no matter how many times you try to convince me Harleys study nook is cool he got the short end of the stick😭🤧
I know in my house the youngest gets the smallest and my parents get the biggest And then the oldest child gets the second biggest in the middle child gets the third
Love the aesthetic but there is some impractical use of space in my opinion. Most students need a private space like their bedroom to study, unlike a kitchen/ dining room where there's family around. The oldest son might have to add a study table in front of the windows in the near future. And yes idea of a daybed is super cute but for the girls bedroom they could've used the bottom bunk space to create a vanity area/study desk area instead of 2 beds for 1 girl essentially. They designed these spaces around "sleepovers" rather than necessity/lifestyle, but maybe this family does a lot of hosting.
Completely agree with you on the first part. They should have definitely used some space for a desk area in the oldest child’s room. But, Lana says on 5:04 that the little girl was desperate for a bunk (bunk bed)
Seriously, I'm so glad that Simply Nikki suggested this channel, it is a real treat being able to watch the many transformations. I'm addicted! I just love the wall panelling and cupboard doors in Jade's room. Going to be trying this out for a client. I've binge watched every episode. You girls are amazing and such an inspiration to us in a similiar field.

So pretty!!! But I do think that the double beds are going to be a waste of space if the other boy doesn't share a room with his brother in the future. If it was ~my house~ I would have gone for a bigger study space (that tiny confined space wouldn't work at all for me).
Hi Marina, thanks for the feedback! The two beds were an important feature to allow plenty of space for sleepovers as well as creating more bed space in lieu of a designated 5th bedroom x
This bathroom reno has saved my life! Planning first ever reno with a small bathroom and don't want to lose the tub. I'd love to see you guys doing renos on smaller houses.
Making the beds built in in the kids rooms is very impractical , kids grow fast and they have a lot of space in their rooms. Why not leave them the option of updating their rooms for when they get older. When I got older I got rid of my bunk and got a queen. And if either of those kids gets super tall, it's going to be so uncomfortable staying in a twin
Both beds in the A frame were double bed and if he gets older and needs a bigger bed, there is still room for one. The little girls bottom bunk was also a double. I had a single bed until I left home. Somtimes I suppose it's about affordability also.
Good thing about those solid doors is that when the boy grows into a teenager and rages at video game he won’t be able to punch holes through it, great thinking!
I really don’t like how there’s two separate double beds in Kai’s room I don’t see the point its a waste of space you could’ve done a wardrobe or something
Hi Grace, the two beds were an important feature to allow plenty of space for sleepovers as well as creating more bed space in lieu of a designated 5th bedroom. There's already a big wardrobe and other storage in this room, so that was taken care of x
@@graceisabel9106 LMAO it's not your house girl! The mum and dad gave them a brief of what was important to THEIR FAMILY and then it was handed over to the 3 birds.. Don't like it? Don't live there! Not that the house is for sale anyway 😑

Other than the bathroom door hitting the toilet when you open it, that entire floor is FANTASTIC! The COLORS are INCREDIBLE! I can hardly wait to see the look on the kids' faces when they see their rooms!
Focusing isn't most kids' strong point so a nook is perfect. It is like a study cocoon. The distractions from the rest of the room are behind them and they are in a snug space where focusing will be easier and when they DO fall in a groove, they will stay in it longer.
Very nicely done! The oldest boy’s room would’ve been my dream bedroom as I was growing up. All I really wanted was a place to read and when I was younger, to play, not with dolls, but with my horse collection. I even had a grass green carpet! That was in the 1960s.
For Kai's room I love the tucked in beds, but I think I would have preferred one tucked in bed and one recessed couch with a flat screen mounted on the wall across from it. Then you could have 2 different zones since it's such a long room. I also agree with the longer desk being needed, as a teen you often end up with a notebook, multiple text books and a laptop all laid out at once. I also think for Harley's room a loft bed would have been cool, with a hammock underneath! Something fun where he could hang out and read or be on his screen.
This was so fun. I hope my kiddos don’t have to share a bedroom (so far I have one girl and one boy, but we plan on having more), but I LOVE the idea of having bed space for friends to come over!
Wow! You knocked this one out of the park and well beyond! Well the others (episodes) too clearly but the rooms before seemed such a challenge and I can't get over how everything came together and so much better. My biggest learning was definitely the bathroom. From tiny and blah to spacious and chic. Hats off to you ladies!

All though little bathrooms is about what I'll have. Can you do a video about granny flats pleeease? They are a big business now. Please help me make it look bigger. ♡♡♡♡
Hi Maureen, thank for your gorgeous comments! This is the only granny flat we've done so far. We don't have another planned yet - but never say never! x
Wow, wow and wow!! The end result is amazing! I love your videos, I'm so happy that they are a little bit longer, so we can see the process behind more! A question, was there a reason behind the smaller bath? Why wasn't it made the full length of the back wall? To create a styling moment or maybe so that a parent can sit down?
So gorgeous! 😍 The sign with the hand is a hang loose sign haha Only thing I'm bothered about is that both boys got 'study nooks' and the girl didn't get any kind of desk to 'encourage her to study' as you said. Could have fitted a desk next to that bed! #smartgirls but other than that honestly you know your shit, it's insane how much you've changed those spaces! x

Hi ladies I absolutely LOVE your work! Can you help me find where the palm tree light in the oldest boys bedroom is from?? I’ve been googling the freedom website but can’t find it? What store is it from I’m dying to get one for my daughters room! 🥰
Hmmm, so why wasn't that big room the master bedroom? The parents could have had a scrumptious bathroom and walk-in closet!! Another idea is that bedroom could have had its own bathroom.
Hi Petranilla14, good question! The budget for this reno didn't allow us to move any walls so we felt it was more suitable for the parents to retain their bedroom and ensuite. In this room we wouldn't have been able to give them an ensuite and the bigger space is great for kids to hang out when they have friends over.
You're quite right, we didn't build a desk in Jade's room as she's only six and we thought that the space would be better used at the moment for sitting on the floor and playing. We made sure there's space in the corner where the round hanging shelves are so they can add one in future, should they wish xx
I second this! That’s the problem with built ins, the bed won’t be going anywhere, in 5 years the room is no longer functional. It just creates work for the homeowners. Don’t get me wrong through, it’s all beautiful!
Great episode ladies! Which bath did you use? Literally demolished our main bathroom today, need to pick a bath for a bath/shower combo ASAP. Our bathroom is a similar size, 2200 x 1800
Hi lovely, isn't this a great little bath? It's the Kado Classic from Reece. You'll find the details of all the products we use on the 'Get the Look' pages on our website: www.threebirdsrenovations.com/getthelookbathroom xx
As always, your work is incredibly beautiful. However, without moving walls, as you explained to another person who commented that the huge room should have been the Master Suite, and that was the reason why the huge boys room couldn't be the Master Suite, it could easily have become so. The previous Master suite would have the wall blocked in so it was just a bedroom, with no ensuite. This would become Kai's room. Then the master wardrobe and ensuite would have been combined to create a much larger Family bathroom. The entrance to this would have been from the existing hallway, at the top of the stairs. Then the hallway that used to go to Kai's room would have been filled in and had walls added, so instead of the bannister overlooking the stairwell, it would have been a hallway that encompassed the old family bathroom. Then you could have had a complete parent retreat with it's own bathroom, the existing cupboard that was next to the family bathroom could have been part of the master suite ( I'm sure Bonnie could have designed some gorgeous feature doors for that cupboard ) and the sloping area that you put the 2 beds in, would have been an incredible wardrobe. The room could have had a bedroom area and a small lounge room type area, as it is such a great sized room. Voila! Parents Retreat :-) Thank you very much for the longer videos; they are lovely to watch. Kind Regards
Could you have fit a separate shower and bath if you had taken space from the master walk-in-robe (turned that into a built-in-robe) and added it to the main bathroom?
Roger Riverson oooh that’s a good idea ..... but the walk-in robe is basically a foot-in robe so not sure it would have nabbed us enough space for a shower 🤪
we need the kids reaction when they see their room

My goodness the kids bedrooms look awesome 👌 I gather the bath was a must for the family?
you guys are the only people i would trust to decorate my home!! everything is flawless in my opinion :D
I’m a 20 year old and I want that little girls room! 😍😍😍😍
Love those built in beds
All these built in eds remind me of the previous house you did. Love it!!!
Yay! So exciting!
Love from Germany 🇩🇪 💋
Wow, wow and wow!! The end result is amazing! I love your videos, I'm so happy that they are a little bit longer, so we can see the process behind more! A question, was there a reason behind the smaller bath? Why wasn't it made the full length of the back wall? To create a styling moment or maybe so that a parent can sit down?
the middle child got the best room in my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with smaller rooms, my room in particular is the same size.
So gorgeous! 😍
The sign with the hand is a hang loose sign haha
Only thing I'm bothered about is that both boys got 'study nooks' and the girl didn't get any kind of desk to 'encourage her to study' as you said. Could have fitted a desk next to that bed! #smartgirls but other than that honestly you know your shit, it's insane how much you've changed those spaces! x
AnnswerMonster she’s only 6 so she doesn’t need one yet and they left ample space for her to fit one when she’s older and has use for it 😊
@@caseysheather7377 Ahhh alright! Understood 😊
Wasn’t planning on watching this at 6am ... but went so fast and everything looks so good 😊.. G’morning from Toronto

Where is the neon light and the carpet from in the oldest sons room? SO BEAUTIFUL!
Love❤⚘💋 them they came out so nice but question not even a trundle bed for the Meadow child as you say the one that only has a 1 singular bed I don't understand why did I miss something?
I adore you ladies and the inspiration that shoes give not only in your work but in your friendship peace and blessings🙏💜🕯⚘

The inspiration that you Share through giving...⚘❤⚘🙏💜🕯
Okay❤ 2nd time around ⚘I heard it was a boat bed?/budget.. ok. But 1st you know I Love uses Ladies! This really bothers me because it is for a child and you have 3 of them. 2 in beautiful bedding with 2 beds in each Room so they can have company.
You have this child in a beautiful! Yes beautiful tent on the floor. No way to grow or share it with his friends. Help me Ladies. I say this only with Love❤ Peace and Blessings🙏💜🕯 #PAE
They just wanted everything to look beautiful. Impractical use of space for me though.
Hi ladies I absolutely LOVE your work! Can you help me find where the palm tree light in the oldest boys bedroom is from?? I’ve been googling the freedom website but can’t find it? What store is it from I’m dying to get one for my daughters room! 🥰
They could’ve donde storage in the build ins. For example, The stairs in the little girls room could of doubled as drawers, etc.
It all looks beautiful, my only question is why you didn't give the girl a desk? Surely she needs one just as much as her brothers?
You're quite right, we didn't build a desk in Jade's room as she's only six and we thought that the space would be better used at the moment for sitting on the floor and playing. We made sure there's space in the corner where the round hanging shelves are so they can add one in future, should they wish xx
I second this! That’s the problem with built ins, the bed won’t be going anywhere, in 5 years the room is no longer functional. It just creates work for the homeowners.
Don’t get me wrong through, it’s all beautiful!
Post-lunch Monday work or watch this!!! You saved my Monday!
This is beautiful what paint brand did you guys use for the color lipgloss
Ms Bling And things it’s Dulux 😘
LOVE the bathroom! Going to steal that "bed nook in the eves" idea in the teen's room for my kiddo!
Absolutely beautiful!!! Every area is so special!!
Wow what a transformation! Absolutely amazing
Best episode yet! Amazing transformations! 😍
All these built in beds remind me of the previous house you did. Love it!!!
Wow, so visually pleasing! Totally nailed it once again 💙💙
What dulux white did you use on the walls? Thanks
Great work girls. Fantastic team. Good luck loved everything thank you
Great episode ladies!
Voila! Parents Retreat :-)
Thank you very much for the longer videos; they are lovely to watch.
Kind Regards
YES!!!!! Obsessed! These rooms look amazing! Secretly sad that I don't have a tent bed haha.
Bonnie is a genius!
Tip put draws in the steps for storage
On the bunk beds
Very simple, neat and clean.
Could you have fit a separate shower and bath if you had taken space from the master walk-in-robe (turned that into a built-in-robe) and added it to the main bathroom?
Roger Riverson oooh that’s a good idea ..... but the walk-in robe is basically a foot-in robe so not sure it would have nabbed us enough space for a shower 🤪
do someone knows what app does they use to do the plans for the constructions?
Beautiful job ladies!
Love the tiles in the bathroom but I think I would have love a bigger sink since it's shared among the kids. Love the all bedrooms though.
Yessssss another great episode!!! 👏🏼❤️
