This home has a lot of of soul because it’s character. It's filled with earthy colors, especially within his son's bedroom as well as throughout his home. The gorgeous sunroom windows and stripped canopy create the coziest ambience. I think I would enjoy eating there every day for brunch. Absolutely beautiful home--so warm and welcoming. I know Shelter Island from many visits in the 20th Century with a school chum whose family owned homes (yes, plural) on the island. The first time I said good bye to my hosts and thank them for a lovely time, they told me absolutely just not to tell anyone where I had been. At that time, Shelter Island was a sleeper, a magical place not many knew, and they wanted to keep it that way.
