With modern bullet construction and technology I think that the 6.5 is capable of most of what the 308 was decades ago and excels in sone other areas beyond the 308
Appreciate your input and discussions on Scout Rifles and their use, sensible n' good information. Both excellent cartridges and both have their place. Yes, 6.5 Creedmoor will shade the .308 beyond 800 yards. Might ask yourself: "Is that a requirement I really need a Scout Rifle to deliver?" Target or fun plinking out to lonnng distances, 800 and beyond, is asking a standard Scout Rifle to stretch beyond what it was designed to do. Nothing wrong with that, but if planning on 800 and beyond, I'd select a more specific tailored rifle for such precision performance. Which of course is fine, as then I'd have 2 rifles!!!! Further, aside from having a few cases of mil surplus 7.62x51mm, the use of .30 caliber cast bullets/handloads lends another avenue for plinking or woods foraging with my .308 Scout Rifle, extending it's utility into a small game gathering iron. Do not misunderstand here, I am a big fan of 6.5mm, using 4 Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1903 6.5x54mm carbines. As long as we're slinging lead, what's not to like!!
When you do select a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle, it would be worthwhile to see your requirements and process used for picking the idea GP 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. I believe that would make for an interesting video.
That is currently in the works. Appreciate the interest and the suggestion! Moving to the 6.5 is a big change for me and the crow eating... well, its fine. LOL
What Nightforce are you running Steve? Longtime fan and fellow Scout own × 3 two of which have the 1.5-5×33 Leupold Scout Scope. I am ready to learn more and was looking at the same scope as my Seekins Element which has a 4-16×42 Atacr Illuminated.
That is the Nightforce SHV 3-10 which I recently sold. Not a bad scope but the lack of parallax adjustment meant it was not very sharp at ranges beyond 300 yards. Not horrible, but not sharp either. Just enough to annoy me. I'm about to pull the trigger on an Athlon Helos BTR gen2 2-12X42 which is heavier than I'd like but has all the features I want in an MPVO
Do you have the means to stock up on it, and run through ot training for the cart you want? That you will and can shoot or learn to... that might do what you want it to? Locally can you get ammo? How many places for sure. If reloading and i m stupid then your not. Can you get the stuff and things and shishkabo s to boom boom?? Can you practice weekly 33rounds with Charlie from Garand Thumb.or should you just get an air soft and a cold STEEL CHETETETE

Thank You Sir
6mm Creedmoor with 110SMK, 108gr Hornady ELDM or 103 Hornady ELD-X
There are guys with .260 Remingtons in their racks next to their previous good idea purchases in .280 Remington.
Yes, but neither of those ever achieved the commercial success and development that the Creed has.
@@cliffy109 exactly!
