You remove the plate from inside the engine bay. It has 4 torx screws. T25 or T30. You can then see all the trash that's against the yellow plate. Clean it out and silicone all around the plate to seal it off. Then to the right of that clean out all leaves everywhere. For extra measure you can put a hole in that plate itself near the bottom. Bmw really messed up here. No longer is this a luxury car
Is it possible to remove/replace the grommet from inside the car? It’s very hard to access from the engine bay in my 550i.
Yeah, but you have to get the carpets up. It's not an simple job either way.
