Thank you for this great video. Amazing work. I have the exact same problem with my 2012 Note. Water in the back footwells, damp smell and growth, condensation on the driver window on the inside. The car is not worth that much, especially with a dented driver door so probably not worth me spending money or time getting it reparied. Such a shame. Nonetheless, engine wise very sound.

I've got the same problem on a Tiguan 2016 R Line. Tue drivers and now the passenger side get soaked when it rains. Obviously a common problem with VWs. Will be the last time I buy one. Shocking.

Vw company completely failed me

I had two identical water problems like yours, one at the back, and maybe the mechanic fixed it by doing something in the middle where the bumper is underneath, and indeed, they forgot to connect the parking sensor. I believe the problem at the back has been solved; I haven't seen any more water. But in my B-max, I still have the problem on the passenger side under the upholstery, and it's damp. The body shop guy says that there was a missing plug in the door hinge area. But now it's still damp, and I think maybe the problem is with the A/C leaking condensation or the drainage tubes are blocked. Or even in the hood filter where the windshield wipers are, there's a cover that gets dirty a lot, and there are two holes that could be blocked. auto Germany

You don’t need to change the drain hoses, just extend the ones on the car with a short section of garden hose & cable tie, I’ve done it on the 2 rear drains & the passenger front, they also come with totally useless grommets which block up or actually become detached, throw them away & do the above, guaranteed problem solved.

Hello. I have damp and waterlog in my rear footwell foam under the carpet behind drivers side on my Fiesta ST. Everything else is dry, rear boot no water, liners and all other footwells appear to not have water when I push on the carpet. as the car had sat so think already had water in it. Roughly how much would it be to dry the foam under carpets?

Any chance you guys opening another branch up north towards Yorkshire??

Not in many Hondas: they use some type of foam beneath thick rubber mat on tof of which there's the carpet. In this way the foam soaks all the water and the thick rubber mat on top can't make the water in the foam to evaporate, trapping the moisture. With time the rubber mat breaks and the carpet on top gets wet. All with mold smell and mold on top of the carpet. Stupid japanese engineering.

Is it possible to remove/replace the grommet from inside the car? It’s very hard to access from the engine bay in my 550i.

Wow, we just bought a new 2024 Tiguan and opted for NO panorama sunroof, after reading about all of the problems they caused in earlier models. It seems inevitable to me that some leaking will occur over time with these things. One less potential problem. Even though those roof windows are beautiful, there is hardly anything worse than water damage, and where I live that means MOLD!
