Crocheted Wasp Nest Decoys / Beginner Friendly

I can't believe that I hadn't heard of Wasp Nest Decoys before! Let alone crocheted ones!
These are so cool and will make awesome gifts for family and friends.

If you would like to give this a try I have linked the pattern below. It is for the 3rd loop double crochet like I mentioned in this video, but you can altered it like I did if you choose to.

We have a bad hornet problem! My husband just vacuumed out the city water meter box. It was full of hornets. Filled the vacuum almost to the top and there were still more which he sprayed. Im going to make some of these for sure! Thanks

Oh wow! Remember it has to be placed where there isn't a nest already or it won't work. And be sure to place it at least 20 feet away from the real nest or it will cause the hornets to come to your nest to fight.

Yes I knew. I purchased yarn last month to make one, but I never found the energy or time. I found a 3d file and I decided to print a couple. So now to find a good sticky tape so I can mount them around my deck and pool.

Would this work for bees as well we have bees in our shed

It doesn't seem to work as well for bees. They don't recognize the nest as one of theirs kinds.
