    I love TAP. I have my EVL 34 tapped out, cable guard, string stop, front and back bars on their titanium QDs. The back bar mount is actually reverse threaded on the pitch axis so the recoil of the bow firing won't loosen the pitch of the bar. Functional, well priced, simple gear.

    They are extremely durable. I always order extra foc outsert, stick it a tree, just unscrew the arrow, replace the $2.50 outsert and keep shooting. This is my third season using the rampage and x impact. I not going to change.

    I saw a guy at TAC in Park City hit the steel rhino 2 separate times with different Black Eagle arrows and they didn't blow up. No collars, just insert and field points. Very impressive impact strength.

      Yah but WHICH Black Eagle arrows was he shooting because that's where the difference lies. The thing is this has always been the case when concerning an arrow who's mid 300 spine comes in under 8gpi. You just can't make such a lightweight arrow while still being that stiff and not sacrifice durability. Easton has the Torch/Hexx which carries the same rep and from what my local dealer has told me the Victory XVs are actually worse than all as he's had several pull out of the target almost in two pieces where they broke right where the insert ended.

      I shoot Gold Tip Quantum and Airstrike in 250 spine at 9.3 and 9.6 gpi, which is similar weight to spine ratio as the x impact. They've proven to be extremely durable with everything except the steel target. I'm pretty sure that guy was shooting 300 spine in whichever model it was.

      @ThatJamesGuy88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wasn’t me, I haven’t had a chance to shoot a TAC yet. In my experience, the BE Zombie Slayer arrows seem pretty tough. 300 spine are 9.2 gpi. I have the 42 grain brass insert, but they offer a 100 grain insert, and I think maybe a stainless steel?

      @@bmills231 Yah I'm sure there's plenty of ancedotal evidence out there that would contradict what I said. Even from me as I shot the DaTorch exclusively for 5 straight years starting when I got my first Spyder back in '13 and everyone that broke was a situation where it should have. However those light gpi arrows didn't get the reputation out of thin air. The broken arrow bucket at the shop range is made up mostly of these.

    One small detail about TAP's that's often overlooked is they give the customer the choice to put their logo/branding on the stabilizer and even them it's just a colored sticker. Sure the QD'd and mounts have a TAP logo but it's quite small. Folks may thing that insignificant but there are some of the big brand stab manufactures who's branding is so large and loud that deer are going to start learning english from them

    Been shooting the BE deep impact arrows for about 6 years. Love them.
    I tried the FOCUS outserts but hated how long they are. They add an extra 1" to the arrow.
    Wish BE would start producing their stainless outserts again

    Sweet video, as always buddy! Thanks for that shoutout!! Of course, I tell you about TAP and then you get all the free gear!! 🙄😑🤣🤣 gonna have to pick me up that string stop finally, looks pretty dope on there. Every time I shoot my EVL in front of strangers I always get the “wow that’s quiet” comments. I tell them I’m a TAP ninja 🥷 Also gonna have to try those Black Eagles, they look slick! My axis 5mm just aren’t holding up to my pre-shot bending routine like they use to… Looks like I’m shooting a banana! 🍌

    I just got my first dozen black eagle rampages with the focos system. I have PSE NTN 33 set at 70 lbs and 29” draw . The arrows are 492 grains total weight 21% foc shooting 273 fps . I have never had a arrow fly so true. I also just ordered a TAP cable guard system thanks for the information on this product I had the same issue with my factory guard also.

    X-Impact 250 spine with a hit insert and Iron Will protective collar is the best arrow setup ive used. Killed 3 deer this year and blew threw every one. Zero damage to the arrow.. Broke one and that's when I missed the target and hit a massive rock. Very durable arrow!

    I've experienced the same thing in regards to spine. The Easton 6.5s I bought last year were by far the worst I've experienced and it was suuuuper obvious why while watching a dial indicator. I've found some brands/models, several far less popular ones I might add, that have excellent spine tolerance across the shaft like you described with the x-impacts.

    I’ve been shooting the x impacts with the stainless steel focus system for a year now. I have shot my practice arrows through a wooden fence multiple times and buried them in a tree behind the fence (not sure what this says about my shooting skills 🤷🏼‍♂️). Im still shooting the same arrows, didn’t hurt them a bit. I would rate them as the best hunting arrow ever produced. I’ll likely never purchase a different arrow to hunt with.

    I am a die hard Easton fan. I was shooting full metal jackets 5mm 340 spine 460 grains. Now I wanted more speed I shoot the Easton axis 5mm 340 spine 430 grains. They fly great and I use fixed blade broadheads.

    I’m shooting 300 spine BE Zombie Slayer arrows with the 42 grain brass insert. I busted one by “robin hooding” it, but otherwise have stood up to my abuse very well. Might change up next year…. We’ll have to see. Keep us posted?

    I’ve been shooting BE rampages for years and love them and the company. That said, I use the RAM spine tool and I have absolutely regularly found ends of my .001 arrows to be far out of tolerance. Sometimes up to .003 or even a little past so check them all people! I can also definitely find the spine with that tool and mark it. I don’t think any arrow company can whole heartedly say ALL their shafts maintain .001 throughout. That’s not a ding on BE but let’s just be realistic. Get the tool, check them all, and straightest end gets the nock factory labels be damned. It’s funny to go to a bow shop and have the guy say “you know you nocked the wrong end right?” Hence why I bought a press and vise and learned the skills myself.

    • @NPC-fl3gq
      @NPC-fl3gq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its quite possible they only batch test arrows, not each individual one. At least Im sure most arrow companies would test that way. Finding info on how they test is not easy.

    • @michaelswenson8399
      @michaelswenson8399 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NPC-fl3gq oh I’m sure and honestly I don’t really care how they test and batch but I’ve heard in more than one place that BE guarantees their printed straightness for the whole shaft and I don’t see that on their site so I don’t know where people are getting that. I also don’t expect that from any company because it’s not realistic and I don’t hold it against them. I don’t think that a company rep saying that will sell more product either, especially since anyone who has measured a dozen arrows know it’s not true. So I’m my opinion saying that is actually worse for them because it just comes off as a snake oil salesman who will say anything for a sale.

      Agree. I spin all my arrows (and I re-spin my old arrows to see which ones are durable) and would never trust anyone's marketing department. Engineers and material designers must hate all the BS that gets thrown around.
      At the end of the day the only way to garantee a good arrow is to build it yourself - and I don't see that ever changing.

    • @SchollZee
      @SchollZee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They spin fine. I used them all last year. The problem with the focos system is if you shoot left helical the set screw will back out over time so you have to keep an eye on them. I never busted an arrow, even shooting at steel challenge targets but I did bust the sleeves a few times. They are very thin towards the back of the arrow. The front of the sleeves are nice and thick

  • @felixmorales6783
    @felixmorales6783 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the insert go past the FOCOS sleeve?

  • @davidbuurma9309
    @davidbuurma9309 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the cable guard as well and didn’t notice any changes in sound, draw cycle, or vibration. However, it definitely isn’t getting thick grooves like my factory cable guard so I still think its worth the investment.
