I know this piece by hearing so well on organ, but this way I discover other melodies in the piece that Bach left us ;-) Bach was really a MASTER of melody, harmony, rhythm, counterpoint, ...
wonderfull....so clean and pure....he has a restrained control to playing and it demonstrates his clarity and musicality, much preferred......so many of this current generation of pianists are noisy key bangers...hopefully his career takes off
This piece, originally written for Organ, into this Listz 's Piano Transcription acquires something special, with new sonorities appearing, like In a fog full of sounds. In the Wonderful Fugue I appreciated the not so quick pace the Pianist played it.This allows the beauty of counterpoint to rise out in all its intensity. Thanks for uploading this video!
Riveting performance throughout. Hard enough to enunciate on the pipe-organ, here the inner melodies sang through very clearly, I appreciated the precision of the whole. Many thanks
I'm by far no fan of playing Bach on a modern piano, but I really like this performance! There is so much sensitivity, such a moderate and sophisticated handling of emotion. Well done!
Just for clarity. This is a work written for the organ it is a transcription for piano and requires the tonal resources of a quality concert piano. It is not a piece for harpsichord or clavichord. Hence it is a Liszt transcription which is amazingly true to the original. It must be heard as such.
The song played here is Liszt S.462 No.1 in A minor (sheet here: th-cam.com/video/CWkg0NSfFvY/w-d-xo.html) The original Bach piece is for organ... Bach Prelude & Fugue BWV 542 in A minor (sheet here: th-cam.com/video/AAw55Fnb-MA/w-d-xo.html)
He did very well to keep his concentration with all those cars, trains and cameras moving around him... not the nicest sounding instrument too, but well played!
1) He’s not facing the window, so he can’t actually see those trains and cars. 2) I’d hazard a guess the windows are very soundproof, so he can’t actually hear those trains and cars. 3) He’s a professional concert pianist, I think he’s used to cameras by now. 4) It’s a Steinway piano, may I suggest you rethink that statement. 5) Well played indeed, that we agree on!
Onze muziekcultuur !
I agree with you on the twangy aspect, but not necessarily on the brightness. This is, after all, a piano transcription (and a mighty good one) of an organ prelude. It would be especially interesting to hear it played on a straight-strung Erard or Pleyel which would give more clarity and definition to the voices in the fugue. That said, isn't Hannes TERRIFIC?!!
Magnificent and definitive ! Bach by Hannes Minnaar . United superbly by God, that ressonates and spreads this sublime music over all Universe. An infinite fited, adequated, stage for them. And the galaxies and stars fully absorved by both brigthens more and more. Ars Plena.Vita Aeternum. Yan Ayrton, eine young composer. (Listen to my "Roach' and my Petite Galop Cromatique piano compositions)
SLAM IT DAMNIT!!! Nobody does! It Needs more intensity, this ain’t your normal modern sissy music, this is Bach! Sorry for this kind of expression, but it’s only for educational purposes, Bach even did punish his students for not getting his point across. And Even Steinway can’t make an instrument compatible with such ethereal music, Bach would not approve of these modern instruments. Besides Bluthner! But even that’ll need some improvements for Bach’s standards.
It has more to do with the recording and postprocessing, but I agree it's such a shame. However, if you forget to hear it, it can also dissapear from your perception.
@@DStrick2008 The upper octaves sound better to me than the mid and low. The regulation might be off due to recent performances and temperature changes. Could stand to be voiced. That'd be my guess + wonky room acoustics and perhaps poor audio mastering if any was done at all.
FANTASTIC ! Bach, Liszt, Minnaar !
Fugue made me cry...I've never got so emotional by listening this piece before. Very elegant and calm.
I know this piece by hearing so well on organ, but this way I discover other melodies in the piece that Bach left us ;-)
Bach was really a MASTER of melody, harmony, rhythm, counterpoint, ...
Listen to Maria Yudina playing this.
@spinxt +1
What a beautiful performance... Especially the Fugue, which is gorgeous

Very fluent and confident performance. There is something passionate about this piece. The more it is played con fuoco the better it sounds

Bravo for so clear playing

Wonderful performance Thankyou Bach-Liszt-Minaar!!!
Thanks for sharing this young upcoming pianist's artistry. May he have a very bright and promising future ahead of him. God bless him! :-))
Gorgeous! OMG! And the fugue!
Meesterlijk.

Really sublime playing!

Sounds like you are becoming a fan. Mustn't listen too much then, lest we sway you to the dark side.

Such a humble, sensitive and profound reading!
This is great !
Just an outstanding performance.
After the performance of this work by Svetla Protich, I simply cannot listen to anyone else, she plays this piece so brilliantly.
'Bach Prelude and Fugue in A minor BWV 543 - Martina Filjak LIVE video' ?
Fugue at 3:25 - great ! Thank you !
really speaks to me!
Schitterende interpretatie!
My god ❤️

Beautiful playing, but what's up with the tempo change in the middle of the fugue?
Nice AB recording. With a distance of 37,5 cm?
Hannes Minaar. 💯👋.
❤

Wonderful... I'd like to meet her to work this piece...
PIANISTAZO!
La exelencia
Wonderful. Maybe the fugue playing was a little fast near the end.
BWV 543.

not sure why the blinds couldnt have been closed,,,,doesnt detract from a beautiful performance

Only death is defintive !
Hannes
Remerciements
In confronto all'organo ,col pianoforte si distinguono meglio le linee melodiche
CAMERA:))))
Did camera more or less;)))))))))))...?
BACH was the best.
no color no contrast , no joy, monotone
So fast!
Bijna antimetrisch

What's wrong with this piano ?? sounds horrible
It has more to do with the recording and postprocessing, but I agree it's such a shame. However, if you forget to hear it, it can also dissapear from your perception.
I think it’s an issue with the acoustics of the room

This Steinway is much, much too bright and twangy for Bach.........
A minor....ffs!
Not a fan of the constant speeding up of the tempos. It's rushing!
