I've been living in Philippines for couple of years and have been to Korea as well as a tourist... In my experience I have to say Filipinos are the nicest, most welcome and friendly people on earth. Who said that they have low education system? God, Philippines basically using english as their major language and most of successful foreign people in the US are filipinos. I have to admit Korean can be racists and get rude sometimes specially to those who have dark skin colour...when you have to choose your supervisor between Korean and Filipinos I have to say I prefer Filipinos cos they usually are the kindest and their english are mostly good, therefore it minimize the misunderstanding and language barrier. This is based on my experience so don't attacked me for sounding my opinion and no, I am not filipinos.

Well, I don't know the quality of translated book in Korea cos I've never read any korean translated book, but in my country and in my own field (medicine), I find way better understanding reading from the original english text book/ journal as compared to the translated one. 🤷

Cultural differences. Some of the rude Koreans have crossed the line that's why We Filipinos have to react to it. Not all other countries are educated about the history of Korea and even some of the Koreans don't know about other's (countries) history. The bottom line here is: RESPECT SHOULD BE MUTUAL. I understand that the Rising Sun has "meaning" for Koreans, but it doesn't mean that it also has the same meaning for us, FILIPINOS. We don't deserve to be treated this way by "some" toxic Koreans. Calling us POOR (even if it's true) , UGLY, UNEDUCATED, STATE SLAVE, etc., is totally a low blow on us. It is soooo heartbreaking for us Filipinos, after all the help that the Filipino soldiers did for South Korea's freedom and for TEACHERS like me to teach Korean students, for them to be able to speak English and communicate well, sacrificing the very need of the Filipino students who also need my help as an educator. Why not accept the fact that South Korea has a serious racism problem? They still cannot move on from the past wars that is why they are still holding a grudge. Their hatred has now evolved into racism which has become deeply ingrained into their culture and society. They should address this problem once and for all. Koreans and Filipinos share the same experience of the horrors of the war and colonization. We understand each other. But our only difference is, Filipinos forgave and moved on from the past. Koreans and Filipinos fought side by side during the Korean war. We were the first to answer their call for help. We fought for them and accepted them as a brother. We Filipinos just cannot accept the fact that even though we loved the Korean people as a brother, most of them still see us as trash. We are belittled and mistreated and we do not know why. We are sick and tired of being ridiculed and belittled. We just want to be respected and be treated as equals. If you do not like someone, the very least you can do is to be respectful. Respect begets respect. At end of the day, Filipinos will (and always will) continue to forgive, love and endure because that is who we are.

@Sergeant Major Gross i do agree that to filipinos the measurements of intelligence is learning to speak english, but to be honest filipinos are very fluent when it comes to English especially Bisaya speaking people, and as a person who speaks English ever since i was young I was always complimented on how smart I am because when I speak english I sound like an american but i did ask them why they think like that and it’s because mostly the language here on our text books is in English so as a person who can understand English very well of course we our considered smart for we can understand the module more clearly and more faster than them, and actually its kinda like a filipino comedy of being fun of your English grammar and we filipinos just laugh at it to be honest and we never actually put the comment to heart, even I sometimes pretend to speak in English in a Grammatically incorrect way because its all for fun, tease and games.

In my experience I have to say Filipinos are the nicest, most welcome and friendly people on earth. Who said that they have low education system? God, Philippines basically using english as their major language and most of successful foreign people in the US are filipinos.
I have to admit Korean can be racists and get rude sometimes specially to those who have dark skin colour...when you have to choose your supervisor between Korean and Filipinos I have to say I prefer Filipinos cos they usually are the kindest and their english are mostly good, therefore it minimize the misunderstanding and language barrier. This is based on my experience so don't attacked me for sounding my opinion and no, I am not filipinos.

I am just trying to open people's mind who thought that Filipinos are uneducated by giving them my years of experience living in the Philippines. as for Koreans I was only mentioned about their attitude towards their foreign employee/partner cos I've ever dealt with several Koreans / Filipinos in different length of times, thats why I dare to came out with that opinion cos it is based on my work experience: English is very important to make workflow better.
Well, I don't know the quality of translated book in Korea cos I've never read any korean translated book, but in my country and in my own field (medicine), I find way better understanding reading from the original english text book/ journal as compared to the translated one. 🤷
A Korean citizen once said " Koreans never forget history" but why most Koreans forget that Philippines are part of those countries who helped your country not to be invaded by other countries. I'm not complaining or wanting a reward just like that, all I want is respect cause we are humans too. Why not accept the fact that South Korea has a serious racism problem? They still cannot move on from the past wars that is why they are still holding a grudge. Their hatred has now evolved into racism which has become deeply ingrained into their culture and society. They should address this problem once and for all.
Koreans and Filipinos share the same experience of the horrors of the war and colonization. We understand each other. But our only difference is, Filipinos forgave and moved on from the past.
Koreans and Filipinos fought side by side during the Korean war. We were the first to answer their call for help. We fought for them and accepted them as a brother. We Filipinos just cannot accept the fact that even though we loved the Korean people as a brother, most of them still see us as trash. We are belittled and mistreated and we do not know why.
