The 289 is a splendid motor. Mustang history is very interesting because of Ford's long term consistency with styling and performance. Rarely did they disappoint in either category over the past 60 years. Hoping for 60 more. Thanks for this treat of a review, Joe.
When you look under the hood today, it's confusing, and you don't know what you're looking at. Joe, I'm glad you were able to locate the flux capacitor so we could go back in time and experience this wonderful K-code Ford Mustang GT. I think this may have been the best car of its era.
I used to love it when the secondary barrels on the 4 barrel carb opened up. Another buddy had a '67 Chevelle Super Sport 396 with the red line tires. Another great muscle car of that era cruising Woodward out to Ted's drive in. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you Joe and Steven for showing us such a great car. No fake vents, elegant interior, elegant wood trim in the driver and passenger areas, red line tires, a-pillar with nice visibility...truly beautiful. I hope that one day car manufacturers would try to design new cars based on such classic cars.
This car started the revolution. It’s hard to match anything better… than the originator ! All the others that followed…. Played catch-up. Without this car, you have no Camaro/Firebird or a Challanger.
Hi Joe, great vid as always. The Mustang is a true icon, and your enthusiasm for the old school cars is great to see and appreciated. Nothing like the force of a v8 manual throwing you back into your seat, and that v8 sound 👌
When he says everybody has a Mustang story oh trust me I have mine too! Had a blue 2008 Mustang fastback with the 4.0 V6 still had power and I got lots of stories with that car! Miss That Car So Much!
Had a 66 fastback k code and pony interior in the turquoise like thisone. 4 spd 9" rear. Wish I never sold it. Built motor with a Hampton 671 supercharger. I now own a 65 Galaxie 500 LTD the same Caspian blue
Love the 1965 Ford Mustang K-code & even if it's low on tech by modern standards I still love how it looks. Yes it's not the most luxurious as a new car but looks.
Thanks for the review on such a beautiful, vintage Mustang. A buddy of mine had a blue '67 Stang fast back with 289 4 barrel. He ran the hell out of it.
I've got a 2015 convertible v6. I noticed some retro vibes after seeing this one. I understand some people love all the modern technology and styling in the current Mustang generation. It's just not for me though. I like the classy retro look. Hope a Raiti fan wins it! Remember you can always use the alternate free entry method.
Rather have a 1968 Bullitt Mustang but this one is probably very close to that and fun to drive. Certainly there are days when I wish I'd never sold my 70 Chevelle SS with 396 and 4sp Muncie, it was a Texas car and I bought it in Lubbock Tx when I lived there and it had no rust !
The K code is what I have to remember my grandpa by. Grew up riding in his early 65 K code coupe. Still today, it is thee most INFATUATING car I’ve ever driven
This Mustang GT 1965 Fastback Looks Absolutely Awesome Joe!!! Another Cool 😎 Ride On Raiti's Rides Today!!! Joe Has A 2020 Mustang GT 350R Heritage Edition & That's Pretty AWESOME For Joe!!! This 1965 Mustang GT In Blue Metalic!!! That's Pretty AWESOME Joe!!!
The original 65 mustangs never had a vin number at the base of the windshield. The vin number was always under the hood on the drivers side there was also a hidden vin number underneath the passenger side fender.
I know we can't get this slim anymore because of all the modern rules and safety measures, but imagine how cool a modern day, S550 Mustang in this size?
289 small block 271 hp. and 4 sp only. Some people say an automatic was available with this engine. If so it would be extremely rare. Base V-8's were 200 hp.
My favorite year and body style. My dream is to buy a Revology reproduction/restomod with a Coyote V8 and updated suspension. Perfect size, looks svelte and nimble.
Now THIS is a Mustang! It’s not electric, it’s not a sedan, it’s not AWD. This is what a Mustang is supposed to be. An affordable, sporty car for the masses. As much as I’m a Mustang guy, I feel like ford is starting to lose sight of what made the Mustang the beloved car that it’s been for 60 years.
Joe it sounds as if the motor was misfiring and missing while on throttlein the higher rpms? Am i wrong.. Great review on such a great piece of Americana history
They were the 10-15 year old cars we could afford in our early 20s. Common place. I scraped together $1,100 for a sweet 68 Cutlass. First year of the fastback for that line. Really thought I was something. 😂.
'Ya know what I don't know is why Eugene Bordinat, (the chief stylist OF that car), his name has NEVER been brought up in common terms. Your thoughts ???
NICE RIDE MY FRIEND HAS A 65 COUPE BUT MY 79 BLACK GHIA FORD MUSTANG SMOKES THIS CAR. 271HP HAHA I GOT 1050 HP 900 TQ FROM A BBC 632 INCHER. RUNS 7,9 @ 180 2350 POUNDS WITH ME IN IT. I WOULD NOT REV THAT ENGINE OVER 6K PS I ONLY BOUGHT MY MUSTANG BACK IN 1990 FOR 300 BUCKS I HAVE LIKE 40K IN IT. NOT BAD FOR ALMOST 35 YEARS
You can't beat the classics!
Amen.
You better believe it
Best car reviewer on TH-cam😎
Absolutely! Rati's is the #☝️
Thanks Marion ! I appreciate you having my back
I would put Raitis rides at #1 also … Sarah-n-Tuned is my number 2 although she can be cringey she goes over a lot more info than anyone else
Regardless of the blacked out cars of today, chrome is still classy. I smiled through the whole video. Real engine, the joy of driving.
Such a beautiful car.
You can say that again Omar

That 1965 style has aged very well. This car doesn't look dated at all. My Mustang was a 1983 GT. Thanks for the memories Joe.
Another legendary car, Classic Mustang. , beautiful. You are awesome, Joe
❤❤❤🙏
I’m so glad that I can bring it to you!
This car was made in the same year I was born. The car looks much better!

Thanks for taking the ride with me!
This beauty will never, ever be surpassed. It's horsepower, 0-60 times, functionality, and good looks will never get old, and will always turn heads.

Best body style!
I absolutely love it!
Awesome Joe. This is a real Mustang!!! Unlike the fake one that’s electric 😂😂😂
Truth 😂
The real deal for sure

Facts 😭😭💀
I just saw the Doge video lol
Simple and clean. Beautiful classic mustang.
Beautiful car. More drivable than a Shelby and without the Shelby graphics so it looks cleaner. The cabin interior is gorgeous. Like old Wedgewood.
Yes please

If my dad were still here, Joe, he'd have loved your reviewing the 49 Mercury and 40 Ford. I hope you run across them sometime.
BAD ASS MUSTANG!!!!
Absolutely!!!❤❤❤❤❤

My brother had a 6 cylinder, 3 speed 64.5 Mustang.
You done outdid yourself on this one joe. Very nice.
That means so much!
My uncle had a notch back with a white vinyl top. It was like that silver greenish color.
Love the 1965 Ford Mustang K-code & even if it's low on tech by modern standards I still love how it looks. Yes it's not the most luxurious as a new car but looks.
My first car was a 1965, 289 2bbl.
Such a classic! I really love this Mustang
Damn Joe. You bring back memories as if me and you grew up together. You are the man for real.
That means the world brother!
Thanks for the review on such a beautiful, vintage Mustang. A buddy of mine had a blue '67 Stang fast back with 289 4 barrel. He ran the hell out of it.
the mustang is 60 years old
One car with no zonks!
Thanks Joe and Steven! Another great review. I was hoping you'd review this car.

beautiful car, thanks so much for showing her off Joe.
Love your car video
I saw a Mustang Mach E today so thank you Joe, this is so great!
Fantastic! And I think wood steering wheels should make a comeback in sporty cars.
Drop dead gorgeous, Joe, WOW! What a beautiful Mustang!
The K code is what I have to remember my grandpa by. Grew up riding in his early 65 K code coupe. Still today, it is thee most INFATUATING car I’ve ever driven
That is so awesome! Thanks for sharing that with me!
Awesome video Joe, it’s Great to see the true Classics .
I am glad that you enjoyed this one Steve!
Absolute classic !!! What's up with the console ? Thanks Joe !!!
That's some after market console. The originals were longer and were made of hard plastic and had two lights on the rear of it and a ash tray.
Love this old school car.
Definitely my favorite car!
Love the K code cars. Nice to see such a nice example. What was with the antenna? Great video!
Glad you got this 1965 Mustang classic car to review bro
A 2nd Generation Trans Am would be awesome!
The original 65 mustangs never had a vin number at the base of the windshield. The vin number was always under the hood on the drivers side there was also a hidden vin number underneath the passenger side fender.

i'm driving a triumph bonneville chrome edition in baby blue and chrome and this would fit perfectly :D
Truth be told the Le Mans stripes were a dealer installed option just most dealers put them on the Shelbys
Lucky Raiti Ride's Again... 🤠 🐎
289 small block 271 hp. and 4 sp only. Some people say an automatic was available with this engine. If so it would be extremely rare. Base V-8's were 200 hp.
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
My favorite year and body style. My dream is to buy a Revology reproduction/restomod with a Coyote V8 and updated suspension. Perfect size, looks svelte and nimble.
Classic cars Wil always be cars man!
Absolutely a gorgeous car. thank you
A reminder that screens in cars are pointless. And bigger screens are just embarrassing.
Digging the Red Racing Striped “Hot Wheel” Tires ✊🏽👍🏽
Perfect analogy!
Love this ford mustang. What a horse ride it would be.
Joe you went back in time without the flux capacitor.
Oh Joe !!! My #1 They were $3000 brand new, can you believe it ?!? YES better than anything !!! I may be biased ;-) What a pristine example !!
That is so crazy to even think about Robert!
I saw a video on this car on Jay Leno's Garage. It was a 1964 1/2.
Mine had the hubcaps with all the spokes and the tachometer and the clock it was that green color like Steve McQueen mine was it 66
Beautiful pony car!!! Great video as well

I like the way that you think!
🎉Joe that's a classic I would love to own one😊
I'm digging it!
The REAL mustang
She is a beauty ! 👍😎
Joe it sounds as if the motor was misfiring and missing while on throttlein the higher rpms? Am i wrong.. Great review on such a great piece of Americana history
Good ears Justin. The carb needs just a little tuning.
Caspian blue ♥️
One of my favorites colors on a 65!
That’s A Very Great Classic Car👍🏻👏🏻🐎🚗💨!!!
1965 $4k 2024 $40k in today's money. Collector value $80 to$ 90k.
How true 👍
Why was the console lying in the back?
Classic 🔥🔥🔥
That's the America I want to live in!
Any plans to do a video on the GTO or the Hurst Olds?
I am planning on it Thomas. Please stay tuned!
It's very beautiful Kcode mustang. Please let your subscribers know if you get the chance to track test
a GT350R mustang?
Does it have a limited slip rear differential?
Yes it does Bobby

A fastback Cutlass? Really?
Trump's cousin telling lies
It's got more room in the back than my 17 5.0.
You better believe it!
'Ya know what I don't know is why Eugene Bordinat, (the chief stylist OF that car), his name has NEVER been brought up in common terms. Your thoughts ???
I miss my Hot Wheels '65 2+2 Fastback...
Full experiencie...cool!!!!
You should tell us what the parts do like what does the carburetor do and that kind of stuff, because we don’t know any of that does.😂
Your married
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Damn, she’s a beauty, someone is going to win a sweet ride.
This is nice
I cant even buy a winter beater for this msrp price
Nice.....😎
Elenore.
Yeah that looks better than the camero
Why does it have a rally pack?
Why not? It was a factory option.
Hell Yeah!!👍
I can comfortably say in 1965 that any Mustang was better than any Camaro on the road 😅
Sure it was.... considering that the Camaro wasn't introduced by Chevy until 1967!
cool!
NICE RIDE MY FRIEND HAS A 65 COUPE BUT MY 79 BLACK GHIA FORD MUSTANG SMOKES THIS CAR. 271HP HAHA I GOT 1050 HP 900 TQ FROM A BBC 632 INCHER. RUNS 7,9 @ 180 2350 POUNDS WITH ME IN IT.
