What Is In My Admin Pouch?

  • Whether it's tactical accessories, support equipment for your weapon, or sustainment gear for yourself, there's a lot of bits of kit that are crucial, whether that's for a casual day at the range, or something to scratch LARP itch incurred by countless hours CoD brainrot. In this video, I detail some of my support gear and go into their use case. This is by no means a definitive list for everyone, as everyone's needs are unique to themselves, but hopefully this serves as food for thought in order to evaluate your own kit further.

Nitrile gloves are great, but my recommendation is to dump the tactical black for some standard medical blue, or white. The color of bodily fluids is important to notice and they all kinda look alike on black gloves, you can use the brighter color as impromptu hi-vis for signaling, and you can menace space cowboys two-by-two.

For sure, I do keep blue gloves in my IFAK for this reason, I just have ran out and been running black ones for other purposes for now.

Good kit! One small improvement would be to swap out one of the black electrical tape rolls for red or white, so that you can write on it with the sharpie for labeling.

I either wrap each battery separately in plastic wrap or take a latex glove, cut the fingers off, insert one battery in the finger and tie it off. It keeps the batteries from getting wet, rubbing against one another, and helps prevent any additional damage should one start to corrode.

For spare batteries I picked up a small eva case (5"x3"). It's a little bulky but it has stopped me worrying about shorting batteries with them rolling around loose and really helps keep the coin cells together. Have you considered adding a usb power bank to your bag? More things are moving to rechargeable batteries so it's handy to have.
I also have some cable ties, a few yards of paracord and a poncho that live in my outdoors bag. I'll always dress for the weather but being able to throw up a shelter with the poncho and ties is always handy.

    • @TacticoolGirlfriend
      @TacticoolGirlfriend  ปีที่แล้ว +9

Yes, a battery bank is always a good idea to have. I keep one in my car as well as bugout bag for this purpose, I'll toss it in the pack when I get to my destination if I'm going the distance.

As soon as the cat ran across the floor my attention left the admin pouch and I NEED a 15 minute video on the kitty now! Also for battery storage I run two Thyrm Cell Vault XL battery storage cases. In one case I can fit 6 CR123 batteries and the other can run either 8 AAA batteries or 4 AA batteries but I split the two and 4 AAA and 2 AA

On the Baofeng, you might also want to get the battery case that allows you to use standard AAA batteries as an extra backup. I have one of those and have 2 sets of rechargeables specifically for that case, plus a fold up solar charging panel that puts out 2.3 amps at 12 v to charge my batteries and a small charger that works on AC (through wall wart) or 12v DC (cig plug).
On your tape, get about a 4-6 inch long piece of 1/4 fiberglass pole (driveway markers) and wrap duct tape, electrical tape and friction tape around it. It takes up much less room, plus I have other types of tape available.
I would add a second pair of good wool boot socks, but that's about it.

Lots of good tips. I haven't heard the spare bcg recommendation in years, tbh I used to carry a spare gun so I don't have to worry with headspace. Though, I don't have a ton of land to roam on so it's not hard to haul two guns

I'm working on getting redundant battery charging set up for my carrier and battle belt currently since carrying around a ton of disposable batteries blows, and I'm trying to standardize my batteries as much as possible to reduce load and volume, and something I think everyone in a modern shooting environment needs are rechargeable batteries that don't require a dock to charge. A bunch of companies make cells with usb charging ports. Between those, a solid low profile high capacity charger bank, and one set of disposables for redundancy, you'll probably never be left without power again as long as you're good on your kit maintenance which now includes charging a ton of batteries when you get home from the range

Hey TCG, great video and production values, keep up the good work, I enjoy the pacing as well.
I know backpack/bugout bag items can be endless but being in the PNW, having a small packable poncho can be handy in the event your rain gear rips or use it to a small shelter starter.
Also, you could consider using Ziploc on batteries so they don't get wet.

Agree that everyone has their own needs and copying directly isn't ideal, also found several items you have that I don't and have to amend, like the electrical tape, that little Spud's lense cloth, and the paint can opener for extracting stuck cases.
One that I add is if you keep your headlamp in your admin Pouch on your chest rig/placard/etc, I've often had the issue of pressure activating the lamp. During the day it's a problem of killing the battery, at night (if you're in a situation where you don't want to be seen) it becomes a safety issue where your admin Pouch is glowing like a beacon. To solve this I went on Amazon and found a hard pill case, shaped like an old film roll tube. I like the Streamlight Bandits, and it fits perfectly and is protected from accidental activation. Other headlamp models are larger than my Bandit but I'm sure there are many similar items on Amazon that are cheap and accomplish the same task.

You might also consider carrying some 550 cord with you. I know you have some on your bracelet. But there are several things you can use it for. Polyken 231 mil spec duct tape is good, too. Also, a few thick and beefy tie wraps. I can't afford night vision. But if you have some IR chem lightsticks or regular glow sticks, they may be something to consider, too.

skeletool is so good. paired with a victorinox cadet nutnfancy was right.
extraction tool is CLUTCH. i need to add that to my stuff. i always forget it.
headlamps are so handy. princetontec makes great ones. i remember getting one for 20 bucks but it did red, green, and white light. gave one to my mechanic cousin and he used the hell out of it. ive got 2 wowtacs now but theyre not available anymore. just get a headlamp. you wont regret it.
your battery game is so strong plus the boo boo kit. those will be highly used.

The NUUM tablets that you carry are an excellent choice. The legendary instructor, Pat Rogers (R.I.P.) used to hand one out to every student in his class. Hydration is very important. If you don't pee before 10 am on the range, then you're dehydrated.
