- Sharing the experience of crashing my Porsche GT4 RS! I know this is not the usual type of content I create, but I wanted to be open with you on the JWW Uncut channel. This video is not meant to glorify the crash or make light of it, but rather to show the reality of being an automotive TH-camr. Thankfully the both the Porsche and I were all ok!

@@PS3Cooooooool Yes, there is mostly no run-off areas there. And if there is, it will not save you from a full spin at 130mph. The car would probably be totaled.

I love that you actually use these amazing cars as they are intended. I will likely never get to experience machines like this so it is amazing to see what they can actually do and not just sit in a garage!

Stop saying that. If you keep saying that you won't really get one. How can you get something you don't believe? I have never ever said that. Sometimes I'm not confident about myself but about success (dream) I never say that
Based on alot of the car you tube channels, there are alot of garage queens out there!
@@chrishaley5257 Yes okay I agree, but a gt4 isn't that exotic to keep in the garage and I think not that good for investments. I agree it needs to be driven, but there are some rare art peaces that is enjoyable to see. More classics not just new exotics cars

Glad that you are okay James! You always push the envelope with your content, and this is proof of that. That Porsche though took such a beating from that gravel and just shrugged it off! Shoutout to all the JWW team, and also the Silverstone team!
Wow, what a day of emotions. You literally had me in stitches with the random flyby. And then only a few minutes later, I'm sitting here almost in tears as I see you bin the 4RS. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the 4RS lives the lap on another day.
Most importantly thank God that you are okay James. It could have been worse. Grateful for another day living life.

Well done for taking it on the chin MrJWW ,many a man would not have included their excursions off the track . Worst bit for me was the stones trapped between the rim and caliper ........ooft painful to listen to it .

Glad that JWW is ok and car didn’t suffer serious damage , JWW is fine driver such incidents can be attributed to many factors and there has been many discussion on Rennlist forum about track tires suitable for GT4RS along with recommended track steering wheels alignment .. I plan to adjust my GT4RS steering alignment after break in period even though I hardly track the car . Would prefer more feed back over tire life span .

I feel your pain and disappointment with even the tiniest of scratches on such a beautiful Porsche. Gravel happens to all of us track junkies at some point in time. Even the best of the best have had to get drug out of the gravel or dirt, if not, then how would they know where the limits are? Glad you and the car are ok!!
Any day at the beach is better than a day in the wall!! Greatful you are safe!

James you got a great attitude when it comes to shredded wheels. Def a 1st world upper class issue, so smiling and joking is a must. What is more concerning, why did you fly off course? Maybe some more simulator will help. I'm just being a friendly Canuck. Well pop some Champagne and Caviar for appies tonight as usual, lol.

Treat those magnesium shavings with respect. A light to those might do a lot of harm.

Sad to lose a set of pricey wheels like that. Glad you weren’t hurt and the car wasn’t damaged. It’s a good excuse to order a set of those beautiful HRE carbon barrel wheels and a lesson as to why people have “track” wheels. Those scored wheels WILL separate under load James and you need to have the rotors inspected.

Is there a recovery cost to pay if you have an off & if so how much is it? I'm guessing it changes depending on track/barrier damage etc.

Sorry good sir but in case you haven’t noticed: there is 1 pebble in your front air dam. Oh, i meant gravel quarry 😆 Love that you DRIVE and use your cars as intended. Nothing worse than pure garage-queens.

So happy you didn't put it into the wall, that is one of those "Jesus take the wheel moments" lol. I cringed watching the front wheel not moving when it was being dragged, but it took it like a champ on the chin, and you handled the situation pretty damn calmly too, bud.

First of all I am glad you're okay. Second, and I do not mean to smartass, but that's the reason I'd not spec the magnesium wheels and why I hate ceramic brakes for a track car. I mean it comes down to me not having enough money to be able to risk destroying them I guess, but yeah, what a shame.
It’s risk but I’m willing to roll the dice, sometimes the house wins 😂
Why risk ? CCB's even with a pro driver are maybe 1/2 second a lap quicker

I feel like these cars are so capable of maintaining high speeds in the corner, is there a reason why the car spun out? Is it due to the tires being too cold or the track not being prepped properly? Would love to hear what went wrong

impressive you managed to get that close to the walls at silverstone circuit, its got like half a mile long run off area, you gotto be special to do that!
Thanks for sharing. Expensive, but „only“ money. Safe to say these fancy magnesium wheels (and so are the pccb) aren’t exactly made for going off-road. aka track use as you pointed out with the McLaren carbon splitter reference 😅… some protrack alloys and steel discs will do the job too ;) I guess these things happen when you use this toy properly… stay safe out there..
You can keep those wheels for other days on the track…. They are baptised.👌🏼

What kind of track is this that they do not provide you with a truck to load the car and avoid further damage?
Save some of that gravel James and plant a small cactus in it. One for every gravel trap expedition on a different track? Good for the memories.

We got one GT4RS in Sweden that rolled and was destroyed in a Time Attack event earlier this year 😢
Sorry to say but you never pull the car out like that from the gravel. You have a wheeled Loader with a big plate that you put the car on.
Seen the front wheels get damaged like that with just normal driving. Very common issue stones getting trapped easy repair 👍
I'd be so gutted if I went gravel surfing. You got all eyes on you and its like oops. Super glad that you and the car are ok. Track days can be wild. You do need to warm things up before pushing. Keep that beast inside of you from pushing hard on the GO GO pedal while tires are cold. That corner you lost it on is a hard braking corner that you have to track out on to get a great exit. The tires just broke loose on the down gear change. The only other option would be to put your foot in it a little and drift the corner. But you would need some angle on the front wheels to do that.

Any speculation on what happened and why the rear end broke loose? You were braking with some steering input. Maybe that was just too much speed for that angle of steering input? Or do you think you came off the gas a bit too quickly along with a bit of steering input which removed to much weight from the rear tires?
I can’t work it out, the car looked twitchy before the corner entry but the actual steering input looked like it was barely beginning to turn in so looks more like something on the track
That sounded a whole lot worse that it was. Thank goodness! 🙀

You just gotta love copse on cold tyres, i was a show a good few years ago and got some track time, in the briefing they said the pace car would be out for 2 laps but no one told the driver so he came in after 1 so the 2 cars in front of me disappeared so i booted down the straight on cold tyres and was going sideways over the inside curb and across the track thankfully kept it of the gravel, got the van going again (yes a rwd Transit) and off i went making people laugh 😂
