Steve Coogan masters the 'total plum of a middle aged English man' so perfectly - a cross between a Tory MP and Richard Plum Madeley.
The character is partly based on Madeley and a few others Coogan came across as he began his TV career.
By far his bes AP series..not a single moment went to waste..incredible

Those comments are redudent and frankly boring. His new stuff is hilarious and evolved. Why would he just parody his old stuff? Its called evolution of a character and Alan is older now and trying to fit in with social norms. I actually prefer his MMM stuff over his original stuff. All amazing content but the currently stuff just highlights Steve Coogans comedic timing and cleverness my issue is if you don't like the new stuff guess what? You don't have to click and watch the content. There is absolutely no need to rag on his current stuff and pretend like yes made a mistake because he hasn't. Some of the current stuff has made me laugh more than the very early Alan stuff

I always assumed that they workshopped some of it, which gives it an improvised feel, but that it's all scripted. That's only my opinion, though.
