“There’s that cattiness again! I mean you’re clearly a character! You definitely are” 😂😂😂
The writing of Alan is unrivalled
It's only rivaled by previous incarnations of Alan but still top notch
@@johnnythunders78 Back of the net!
It's textbook
Some of my TH-cam comments are just as well written and funny.
Footnote; not this one.
So is Steve Coogan’s! 😃 (I think that would be a pedantic correction AP would make).
Steve Coogan is an absolute genius.
Gush more
No, a genius is someone like Norman Einstein!

@@SpeccyHorace Oh, I see, you're ridiculously woke.
"his scalp was bleeding"which takes us right back to the hair clinic 😅😅😅
If you're ever having a bad day, come back and watch Alan. Genius therapy
I love Simon never being able to get the wall working correctly
It happens all the time on news programs or live reports like zoom calls etc, instead of filming people properly they do all this fancy shit trying to look hi tech and it inevitably breaks down or won't work live on air and then they just look stupid and cheap for not recording people properly.
I don't think many writers could think of new ways to get longevity out of a character, but Coogan does it brilliantly with Partridge. I don't even think the genius of Gervais could bring David Brent back with the same success. Classic comedy!
Agree. Love the office and gervais, but everything Ricky's done without merchant has been below par
I think Gervais, Coogan and Atkinson are each at that level. As far as the actual characters go (Partridge, Brent, Bean), they have depth in that order, but the comedian genius behind each are essentially level.
@@dg8620 You’re pushing it by including Bean. One of the most insufferable comedy creations inflicted on the world.
@@deepzepp4176 I don't know how well it aged, and the movies were awful, but at its time it was really revolutionary. Atkinson has always been a magician with breaking comedy down to the mannerism more than the dialogue, and Bean was the extreme case of that. His Blackadder pronunciation of "Bob" is another example of that, or various sketches in his two man Live shows with Angus Deayton
@@dg8620 I agree, but for me Edmond Blackadder is a far better example as opposed to Bean. As you say, the pronunciation of “Bob” and the sarcastic lines are superbly delivered. I agree with you that only Atkinson could play the role of Bean. I just don’t think the character is on par, with Blackadder, Partridge or Brent.
The Gibbins brothers are brilliant. Thank you for finding so many new aspects to Partridge, boys.
Who are the Gibbins brothers?
@miraho1391 Rob and Neil Gibbons. They write Partridge now along with Coogan, taken the mantle from Ianucci!
@@miraho1391They are two writers who have helped wreck the character. The first book was very good and promising, along with Mid Morning Matters. Then Coogan decided to make the dreadful film, and it’s been downhill ever since. This Time, is without doubt the worst thing Coogan has done with Partridge.
@@deepzepp4176The film is awful but you're wrong about everything else
@@monkeytennis8861 You think “This Time” is good?
The Holly Willoughby line is hilarious.
Can't stand her.
It certainly is.
I absolutely love the woman playing his co presenter. She's hilarious and gorgeous.
Maybe show your love by finding out her name?
Which I did, but couldn't quite remember it (I'm older, memory failing). And rather than go to Google and check it, I just carried in typing my message here. Is that okay boss?

Steve Coogans Alan Partridge just gets better with age, i think.
Comedy genius
No it doesn’t. This is utter shite.
Love the bits with Simon Denton on the touchscreen. The awkwardness is off the charts.
The whole thing opened with the monk scene and I was almost done already 😆😆 The little pan to his multi coloured socks with the tag sketch is so subtle but absolutely brilliant
Coogan's grimacing with the cocktail shaker. 😆
"stop looking at me!"
29:30 "slightly harder to win"
brilliant 😆
Hey baby girl never gets old
This is one of the funniest shows I’ve seen this year, pure brilliance 😂
the passive aggressive monks

Oh they were messin with him, strangely same thing happened to me with another group - theres no clearer communication haha
The greatest comedy character of all time. Clearly
A brilliant writer and performer - a one off !
Looks like it's time for a new This Time compilation. About time

The overly long walk over to simon will always get me.
32:47 this section is insanely good from Coogan. When he sits next to Simon, the characterisation is nuts, what's said and what's unsaid; then the convo with 'Tiff', utterly amazing.
Alan's jealous
Master Gaslighter :P
Huw Edwards reference.. life imitating art
The cocktail 🍸 part is fantastic! This guys is in my top 2 uk comics, along with Gervais.
The middle of the road riff on the Network monologue is genius.
Alan's resentment of Simon getting a little opportunity is beautiful....
Simon; "Finally got that promotion ma"
Alan: "Still the same money though"
Simon: "Yeah"
🤣🤣🤣
“Smells of stuffing”😂
we're gonna need more!
We need series 3!
Considering his meltdown and assault on Simon at the end of 2nd series I think it's back to Radio North Norfolk again for Alan!
@@melvert33 compared to what else has gone on at the bbc that’s nothing!
@MrCassiuschrome I saw a photo of Coogan dressed as Jimmy Saville the other day for the upcoming BBC drama, it was kinda disturbing.
Oasthouse is as funny as anything he’s ever done. Now we’re getting a new show about a year Alan spent in Saudi Arabia. Steve will always think of a new way to frame Alan’s ideas. I love that’s there’s been such variation
Yay I love these complications.
If the One Show was like this I'd watch it!
You've killed a hostage ! OH Alan ... sub optimal 😂
Shitty adds don't bother
So brilliant ❤❤thanks
Comedy gold 🤩as a long time partridge fan I LovE this show
Masterpiece.
27:56 “Hey baby girl” kills me every single time
Hope another series is in the works
give him another series
I don’t think it will unfortunately as if you listen to the 2nd series of the Oasthouse podcast he’s out of work in regards to radio/Tv
Judging from Oasthouse being on audible & with the streaming of Stratagem it wouldn’t surprise me if Alan’s next content will be on Amazon prime

' Banging on the tambourrrine.' 😂
Little observation at 1:40:
I like how they use the 'skip forward a chapter' symbol to represent 'fast forward'
why?
I noticed that to, and like you, I ABSOLUTELY love it. Tbh, sometimes I just look at that bit. It is BRILLIANT!
It took me just 53 seconds to stop, and go back and laugh a lot "there's that cattiness again"
Brilliant .
Cattteeeeeee! Love it! 🤣🤣
21:09 these noises Alan makes have made me laugh so much today
"Chicken shop wet-wipes, 5 units"
Tim Key is brilliant at awkward humour
Master of the blink
I saw him in Edinburgh and completely panicked. I shouted "SIDEKICK SIMON!" He turned around and gave me a thumbs up. I'm sure he would have loved me to shout "Tim Key!" But I didn't hear anyone else acknowledging him, so I didn't feel too bad.

Hello it's Alan Partridge I've got permission
There’s a boy’s eye…
Love an obscure Alan reference.
The network film parody at the end lol
Steve Coogan and Ricky Gervais are the masters.
gervais not so much. STEVE out does everyone.
“ Be safe. Be egg safe.” Thank you Alan for the reminder. Sorry if I’m sounding catty.
Series 3 when you’re ready…….
‘Hey baby girl!’
Alan looking more like Bryden with every scene. 😆
4:32 they made the silence during the walk just a bit too long hahaha
These presenters are great. They should take over ITV's This Morning.
A holy spleen 😂😂
Sc is a legend!
Partridge was good back in the day but coogan has created an absolute British masterpiece of a character. Alan Partridge is up there with Basil Fawlty
There's always a BUT.
Miles better. Faulty is an anachronism nowadays (especially given Cleese right wing scumbag ideologies). At least Alan happily admits his prejudice.
i thought i was the only one spotting similarities between these two!
love your profile pic btw mate (greetings from a fellow the cure fan) 🫶🏼
@@darthsenilus7504 yeah the partridge character has really evolved over the years, this later stuff like mid morning matters, this time and the ousthouse podcast is his best work yet. I'm 40 been listening to the cure since I was 9 😁
