Really like the part at the end. Often times when I’m behind I tunnel on “get CS and stop dying” but I don’t think of impacting the map in the way he did. He still got his wave pushed and backed but he also was present to help out his team. Something I need to learn.
very good analysis, i also often get stuck in the idea that farming is the only good consistent way of staying relevant and getting resources. Helping the team can give such big advantages though, need to learn this too.
My constant problem with midlaners. As mid laner you should definitely work with a jg mentality since you have so many options available to you.
@@antonioguardado9398 indeed
@@antonioguardado9398 Not necessarily. A coin flip roam is risky and not always worth it. Sometimes, especially with lane dominant champions, you might want to prio mid. Too much roaming with high risk for failure isn't worth it. Sometimes your sidelanes don't offer any potential for ganks from the mid. Esp. lvl 5 orianna offers no cc and no engage, if your sidelaners have none it's doomed.
@@disadadi8958 dunno why you're assuming all jungles are taking coin flip roams but sure with that mentality definitely don't do it
I started watching videos to improve how I play. I did improve but I still don't have the drive to climb. I'm busy with school and a part-time job. I found out enjoying the game is what I like more than climbing up ranks. I'm really thankful with this free tutorials. I'm broke so I can't buy coaching but I'm already grateful enough.
Its too expensive anyway
Same here, i find myself understand the game a lot better after watching these amazing guides for over 2 years now and I can play decently against mid-Plag while i am only gold 4 (duo with friend)
But still, life's been too busy and i cant find the right mental to climb
@@touchthis3372 Coaching is too expensive unless you are rich, or League is your life and getting better is all you care about. It can't be cheaper though, it needs to pay the coaches at least more than a minimum wage job per hour.
Skill-Capped is a reasonable cost if you buy the 1 year plan for $59.99. That works out to $5 a month. IMO, if you like the Skill-Capped content and want to improve, then pay for the 1 year plan, watch as many videos as you can on the platform (there's a lot, esp if you prefer mid, jungle or top, but there's an ok amount of ADC content I guess). If you don't improve much 5-6 months into it, contact Skill-Capped support and you can get a refund. Just don't abuse that to cheat them out of money if you actually did improve :)
Well you can see neace video he is coaching a lot of players and kingstix if you play jg
I feel you, bro. Good luck 🤞
I feel for the graves. I knew fairly obviously that he would win trades and should have fought more (not even realizing he had ignite) I understand the mindset of fearing the enemy champ so much you overestimate them no matter how the state of the game is.
Been there with Zed and Akali. I know the damage they do so I am just kinnda scared to die to them even once unless I am on my main( Lissandra)
Yea that's why there are different ranks. No one is really stupid i think, people just Lack experience
@@wotizlove Wise word
@@wotizlove usually these kinda go hand in hand in league
the first clips, Sylas vs Graves. It isn't a ''missunderstanding of how the matchup works'', it is straight having a bad idea of how laning works. He simply refuse to trade, sooooo many laners are only looking for opportunities to deal free dmg and will refuse to trade HP at all cost.
for sure
a lot of people pick meta champs without understanding why they're so broken
this graves here clearly is one of them; he understands that graves has great wave clear, but forgets that graves also has one of the highest early game damage output in the game
People don't understand the concept of trading I mean they freaking using it everyday yet when it comes to lol it has to be somewhat different lmao.
@@wzt9376 The everyday trading that people do usually does not see them and someone else beating the shit out of each other, though
It certainly isn't just an misunderstanding how the matchup works, even on a burst ap mage without spell up would should still trade more than Graves did in this situation. That said, it seems clear that this guy is afraid of the Sylas. He knows that these type of champions are meant to 100-0 you late game(and probably experienced it a bunch), but fails to realize that they can not do such things at level 2.
Graves probably had some prior bad experience because after lvl 5 graves most certainly can't win those trades any more unless he got ahead. After that lvl 1 mistake he did, he also did not want to risk with his positioning knowing that sylas is very well capable of dealing that 50 % health bar that was left with a combo something similar to e, ignite, auto, w, auto, e hook, auto, (and a flash, auto, auto on top of that if needed, theres also a thunderlords proc in the combo usually) That whole combo might look like it's a long time on paper, but in reality, it all happens inside about 2 seconds usually. Graves could have died and he chose not to risk it, probaby also being scared of a possible jungler intervention. Yes, ive played the hell out of sylas ;)
I played orianna a lot and you really feel like a caster minion when you're behind. This guide really help me with that
One of the things I do if I fall behind on Orianna mid, I look for someone to play around and basically become support for them. I stop looking for dmg from my q w combo and start looking for e w shield with speed boost for someone that can carry me. And of course to land a good ultimate in teamfight, which can turn around it even when I am behind, couse it is insane teamfight carry. Of course I do it while power farming, so I can comeback and become control mage as I Orianna should be. I am also not stressed in falling behind, as Orianna scales well to late game, so I will catch up ewentually.
Oh man, as a person who abused Graves before his Q mana nerf I physically felt pain when the Graves would dash away when 1 auto did more damage than Sylas' entire combo and he would still play safe.
Would rather play against him than Trynda mid
Dopa clips were super inspiring, good reminder that kills aren’t the only way you can affect the game.
wdym, he literally roamed to get kills
So we are all going to ignore the fact that mcbaze has a smurf acc called “DADDY DOPA JUICE”
and DOPASEGIRL xD
Holy crap, didn't knew I've been doing the perma freeze stuff for a long time now, this actually helped
Recently saw a faker clip that was titled something like "faker has NO LIMITS on akali!", but in the clip the opposing Syndra uses her qe and misses, but then walks up to auto faker for some reason. Faker has flash and ult, and easily kills her for free. The syndra walked all the way up to near fakers Tower, so to me it seemed an obvious punish. It's also the same concept mentioned with the syndra fizz example.
For the first example, the root mistake Graves did was queueing for ranked before understanding the limits of his champ, and thus being afraid of every matchup that comes his way. Always play some normals before queueing for ranked so that you're not afraid to die.
Often when your enemy on mid lane go in for the kill on you and it seem like a stupid engage, it might be their jungler is on the way, and the right thing to do is to back off.
I agree in 1v1 situations when you are sure about where enemy jungler is, but its always a good idea to disengage, in the first scene you showed.
But it was a lvl1 fight. No Jungler ganks at level 1, and if they do they are terrible at their role
If you gank level 1, your jungle is lost
@@AdeptoDiChuckNorris this is what always happens in low elo, lol
Something I need to work on is figuring out these in the moment, because when I look back at the replay or just even after the play I always see tons of mistakes. But in the moment, it's hard sometimes to realize that there is an opportunity to make a great play.
What people (nor the creators of this video take into account) is that they're literally watching a replay, you wont always make the best choice while you're playing, if you did you'd be challenger
08:13 , that's gonna be my second ritual before entering the darkness of solo Q, ty SC!, you just keep gettin the good advices all day long.
gonna be honest, as a new player I struggle to follow which champ is being talked about as the new names are getting thrown around constantly.
would be nice to see a image of the champ and their name for reference.
*Its just me or Hector went missing?*
Been a while since you've made any Top lane guides.
First time i ever had to put subtitles for english just to try to comprehend some words you're saying. Enunciation is your best friend laddy
Ye btw the vlad wasnt freezing, he was letting you push him in cause he wasnt sure if he would win if he fought for wavecontrol. That is just not knowing your champs damage or that specific matchup and has nothing to do with ‚freezing too much‘
well, freezing is "akin" to not taking action
if you didn't notice at 6:00, they clearly put "freezing too much" ALONGSIDE "not pushing", indicating that they are similar and generally have the same effects on the game
if vlad were to ACTUALLY freeze here, he still wouldn't have prio to any scuffle down in the river or down bot which is NOT what you wanna do when you're super ahead as he was
I like the videos! I like when the YT thumbnails can reflect positive encouragement as well!
Hey guys I have noticed yoy make videos on how to counter assassins or how to play against them as a mage. Could you please make a video that teaches us how to play as an assassin in midlane for this season? How to play when behind as an assassin when you are getting pushed in etc.. For example i always lose lane as kata because i dont find good opportunities to trade and then i get shoved in and cant roam
lmao I always love the excessive amount of reverence given to Dopa. Yes, he is an S++ tier player and borderline genius at times, but saying things like "praying to the Dopa altar" or "the greatest player of all time" always make me smile.
i feel like their is a lot better clips to use then these as examples but gj it makes it clear.
like t1 said mid isnt the hardest role cause if you are behind or if u cant get kills in your lane you influence other lanes
wow really enjoy the last part I have learned a lot with this video thank you very much for this very useful information.
haven't played in quite a while downloading it now. used to main mid all the time
This vid is pure gold
So basically, it amounts to reading lane matchups, looking for and punishing mistakes, and control the waves
Great video, I’d like to see one for every role now 👍🏽
*Always good to see a fellow Dopa's simp*
How do you get away with hard shoving all the time when junglers exist?
Please do a video on closing out games
as someone new to league i thought freeze = good but this video showed me to push. i remember being fed thanks to my cousins carrying me and not doing anything about it. Thanks.
I'm not entirely sure how a Vlad is supposed to outpush an triple AOE Q Aatrox with a whip I'm assuming. He is largely a burst mage these days, not a sustain brawler like Aatrox. His E isn't even max rank when he loses the tower. Add to that the fact that he may be not used to playing against Aatrox mid and he might just know he is against a smurf.
Also Dopa probably thought 6 minions advantage is worth a damn at level 2. I kind of did too.
Men crashing 2nd wave early is useless, better crush 3rd to have time window to help jg and have stronger, more sustain wave to poke if jg not need help. Otherwise 3rd wave wont crush and it will slowpush towards u canceling your window, forcing you to freeze or overextending during 3rd/4th wave.
Can u do a video about good and bad team comps? Or a video where u analyze the best possible team comp during pick and ban phase?
Nocturne appears already 5:19... Surprise surprise he walks out of the bottom side bush 5 seconds later lmao
I just get excited whenever I see a McBaze video
im new to the game and im sorry if this is a dumb question but how are you able to tell what skills they still have and how many potions they have
as for skills, u gotta know the cooldowns by yourself.
but as for potions, u can press tab which shows the scoreboard and u can see what items your enemy has
First and second examples of graves weren't that bad but that last one of graves omg ... such a health disadvantage on the Sylas and graves backs off lmao
tbh i didnt even know that graves autos do more damage the closer someone is, so maybe that graves didnt either?
nah 1st and second were still really bad
@@basiceclair4195 its not particulary more dmg, but it is a shotgun and if an enemy is on higher range not all parts of the shot connect
in the first example Graves doesn't have E, remember? he also has 0 bullets, so he cannot cast AA's and his Q is on CD
how would he ever kill sylas?
he has flash and ignite wdym?
"Instead of talking about a specific matchup". Begins with a specific matchup and details.
yeah but that dodge at 5:50 is pretty nasty
Eh the beginning is debatable. Sylas can use minions to block graves aa. Especially for the 3rd. Graves can’t kill sylas there prolly with minions. But maybe his f perhaps
too easy to say so , but if you're watched enough games of DOPA playing, you realize that his understanding of the rift isn't something that can be taught.. the man just predicts and knows how things will unfold ahead of time. thats why although he's not mechanically good like faker, he can still top any pro through macro.
REALLY don't like characterizing vlad's play as "permafreezing". He was letting the waves crash, and not zoning aatrox off the wave.
Same.
@@Stargazer3147 5 kills vlad destroy atrox 1 v 1 anyday of the week.
@@westonprice6272 A modern day Vlad is not going to outheal an Aatrox with grievous. He has nothing to outpush him with either so while he may be 5-0 into 1-3 he is likely down CS and definetly down 4 plates and that not not nearly as high of an advantage as it's made out to be. It's also a plat into a challenger smurf, which isn't something you wanna yippee ki yay as the plat.
Waiting for top lane one
Looking for some good mid guides as a Ziggs main, he's in thumbnail potrayed as a bad mid laner. 😢
Honestly best advice i never took was to watch a guide or two a day on a champion i dont play till ive watched a guide on ever champ lol
Dear korean father in heaven hear our prayer, may your wave control be absolute in our challenger and iron games. In the name of the father, TF and the Orianna, Amen.
good mid 10 - 0
bad mid 0 - 10
that's all, guy's
Good mid 0-0 120cs at 13min
Bad mid 0-0 80cs at 13min
you didn't understand sh1t
Thank you
im silver 4 in flex, solo ranked im iron 3, but i bought a smrufs account that is gold 4, but its in smurfs que i believe, wow the game is pretty insane.
So essentially;
-Play around your ward and pull the wave towards there
-Punish opponent cooldowns on important skills
-Evaluate how enemy jungler can help kill you
-Use smart wave manipulation and buy yourself time by shoving the wave and roam for potential kills.
I get it, but some situations confuse me when I think of this. Recently I was playing Pantheon against Vex, and waiting for an important skill in this matchup is just a waste of time. Like Vex E stops my only engage ability W and so how can I punish her E, when she only uses it defensively, there's no way I can just bait it out cause I'll eat a lot of damage from her W and Q. So what are my options in that kind of situations?
@@sargischshmarityan9657 shove and roam like there is no tomorrow 😉
@@DraxTheDestroyer ok, but in some matchups I can't shove when they are in the lane too, like lux or xerath, or every aoe high damage champ, they just annihilate the wave and it resets. Is it a good timing to roam, because I think that way I'm gonna give them free tower plates, or even an entire tower?
@@sargischshmarityan9657 shove and immediately roam with your ulti, he has to follow or you will get your other laners fed and they will start flaming their mid, this will disrupt them.
@@DraxTheDestroyer ok thanks dude)
What should the Vlad had done? What vid is it discussed in?
Nice video, but u really counter pick enemi on ur smurf acc??
Really nice name "DADDY DOPA JUICE".Seems like your accaunt.
So the first part of this vid is something I learned from watching Tobias Fate. Whenever he isn’t trolling and playin GP with ignite he is always looking for laners to do something stupid and all in them. You’re basically not allowed to waste abilities in lane with him cause he knows when he can be aggro
1:39 Can't kill. Graves's ability is on cooldown.
in SG server you only go against plat and above in normals
I rly need an opponent like sylas
I just find myself yelling mcbaze
I know the video is a bit old but if you have the advantage on lane what are great situation for you to roam in other lanes ? Because each time I roam ennemies just back away but if they are under our tower they are at advantage in kills most of the time they have force advantage. So what are the dispositions to look for to roam ?
Vlad is not freezing but can't stop Aatrox permo push
I must be playing in different low elo games because it feels like the goal is to always push.
Bro why am I still silver
May I ask what's the reasoning behind choosing aatrox vs vladmir? I main aatrox, but he has one of the WORST late games in the game, even when incredibly ahead... vladmir on the other hand has one of the best late game scaling..
well, you do realize that hes smurfing. and vlad cant scale vs a smurfing lane bully like aatrox, he wont have any farm and will be spam killed under tower. also aatrox late game is really strong, espicilaly when ahead as a smurf
Isn't that the same situation as saying why pick xin into eve
9:56 dopa missed canon
So how do I control the wave? Sacrifice cs?
Does this also apply to top?
good - francisco
bad - MARTIM
good ones help with crab
XDD that vlad isnt freezing he is just letting u push there is a huge difference ?
Mcbaze didn't introduce himself how am I supposed to know who it is
Where's the comment with all the time stamps ?
The difference is that good mid laners give the canon for their jungler.
idk as dia vlad I always freeze its just how the champ works lol
Fizz, Talon and Ahri = Good
Ziggs, Zed and Vlad = Bad
Got it!
my bad
10:09 Doesn't LB just kill Dopa at this point? Or more specifically to the ELO that I play in (mid gold), LB for sure doesn't let me touch the wave at this point. So what am I missing about this interaction?
minion damage in early game is insane. When you look at the replay, starting around 10:02, you can see that the backline of the wave, which deals the most damage, doesn't have a target yet, so they would attack the LeBlanc immediatly when she would step up. You can actually see that already happening in 9:59, when LeBlanc already gets targeted by the caster minion in front of her. On top of that, Dopa positions in a way that would require LeBlanc to walk up into the wave in order to hit her spells, which would again lead to the whole wave attacking her. This combined with the fact that LeBlanc is only level 4 and can hardly oneshot someone with only 2 kills this early would lead to LeBlanc losing the trade or at most go even with the Orianna. Even if Dopa is 0/2, they were the same level and the 15 ap advantage from a single item that LeBlanc has is not enough to outdamage the whole wave and orianna
tl;dr for superluma fan
3 casters = 30 dmg per wave of minion aa
having around 6 means that dopa gets around 120-180 extra dmg for free
plus (on the topic of hitting spells), leblanc needs to hit her chain thru the minions wave, which dopa is playing inside
i'm not even good enough to understand half of these concepts 😆
This is hard in a practice...
he was not managing the wave correctly
thanks i got from b2 to b1
fake
the vlad is just afraid of junglers explain why playing as aggressive as you should prevents you from getting ganked so these low elos arent afraid that much
Prayge dopa
amen
Graves couldn't auto Sylas because he had to reload.
Showing zed has a bad midlaner really makes you think 🤔
its crazy that was grandmaster play, and what the Qiyana did was identical to how i was playing, and yet i got flamed at for playing that way. it makes me feel better to know that its not unusual for even high level Qiyana players to play correctly and still misplay and loose their trade.
How about what ugly laner do?
Sylas is op what you mean lol?>??????????????????????
Also graves mid is rare!
Am bad midlaner :( before watching the video am sure i xill be with bad midlaners
Dayum early, nice
LOL your ign is so funny

bad mid laners watch this video, and dont get good wow crazy
So mages just lose all mid against ad, why do you even try
that graves is so tilting..
Ah, yes. Not pushing. Fokin stupid idea not to push tbh.
So many games lost because someone had a great idea to fight every 2 minutes instead of just push because you know... Kills is what matters the most, ye?
The guy talks too fast at some parts and is too low on volume :X.
