This is by far the best review of this game I’ve seen. Nearly every review has been little more than “We all remember how great these games were in the arcades 25 years ago, and the net code is good!” Which means absolutely nothing if you haven’t played them before. I must have read 6 reviews before one mentioned that you can now configure special attacks to a single button. This review actually takes the time to review each game in the collection and not just the collection itself. Thanks for writing a review that explains why the games are good instead of taking it for granted everyone is familiar with each game already.
I tripled dip for this collection. Got it digitally on Switch, Playstation, and Steam and will dip again for the switch physical version. Disney won't be taking these games away from me again.
Same here. I sold MvsC 1 and 2 for Dreamcast and made enough for the Switch, PS4, Steam versions and just enough left over for the future Xbox One release. I’m still getting both physical copies too. I told Capcom on social media I would pay whatever for a collection exactly like this a couple years before this was even announced, I kept my word big time.
MVC2 with its huge roster is genuinely a great casual game to pop in instead of smash. Lots of over the top fun even if you have no idea how to play these games on a serious level. The easy special input button helps too
Awesome review!! The Punisher game was Capcom's first Marvel game and it's success led to all of these other games, without it we might have never had these awesome titles, it's spot on the collection is well deserved
I bought this bundle on day 1. I love it. Especially because I can play my Switch on my home arcade. What a perfect pack of games to enjoy as they were intended, on an arcade. 😊
I bought it twice! Once on PC because it's my preferred platform, and once on Switch so that I could carry the game around with me and get the pre-order bonus that comes with the physical copy.
Got the Digital version for my Switch. Ordered the physical copy for the Playstation. Grew up playing all of these titles in my hometown arcade. Which was a missouri tester site for the majority of these games. Players from st Louis or Kansas city drove to Columbia MO to play these games. This collection is a dream come true.
YESSSSSS!!!!!! I couldn't get it to work on my old laptop so I got it for the Switch. I dodged a bullet as match making is somehow better on Switch. And the net code works on the switch really well too! Awesome review!!!
Couldn't wait... Preordered my physical copy and will probably leave it sealed while I endlessly play it digitally installed. I love these games. Period.
Already have the collection on Steam and have already preordered the physical switch version. Glad to hear the game runs just the same as the others. Thanks
it took 2 decades to finally get everything and it was worth the wait and that's why i will wait longer for a nice sale to get an even sweeter deal on the switch so i can take it on the go!!!
I’m a double dipper… possibly a triple. I have it for Switch, digitally. I have my physical copy reserved and may get a physical copy for PS4. This game (collection) is worth every penny!!! I don’t even know how I’m going to tear myself away from it for Zelda. It’s that good!
If you dont really know how to play fighting games this may be a good jump on point but if you are not prepared to put the time in to learn the fundamentals like blocking, special moves , assist and basic combos then expect to drop off this quickly. This is a fighting game collection targeting those that get capcom fighters and can find endless fun in them
It's well known that these particular Capcom fighters (bar Marvel Super Heroes, which actually has quite a decent level of depth in terms of custom combos) are amateur as far as 2D fighters go. Brilliant fun, of course, and the OTT visuals were absolutely spectacular on Saturn when I first experienced them, but the original SF/Alpha series are definitely the superior games in terms of challenge and learning to master techniques. I might POSSIBLY be tempted by this, but given I've already got all of these on retro consoles bar The Punisher and MvC 1, it might be a pointless purchase. Then again, I also bought SF Anniversary Edition on Switch despite having most of them on Saturn emulation. It's the lure of online play, ultimately.
I love every single game in this collection and have put more hours than I should admit into MvC2 on the Dreamcast. Super excited to pick this up when I get the money for it.
One of the things I enjoyed about the MvC2 console version was unlocking additional characters one at time. I don’t known if that is available in this collection but I thought it was a fun feature and it would be nice to see that as an option
Love it, waited for so long, pre ordered on the Switch since day one, absolutely cried when I played it, and will get the physical version for PS4 in November ❤
I got the PS4 digital and waiting for the Switch physical. These Capcom collections lately have been excellent and I can't wait until Fighting Collection 2.
I barely buy games at this moment, but when I do I try to buy physical. I'll wait a bit more for this one. I played most of these back then and for me MvC2 is The crown jewel in this collection.
I’ve never played any of these games, but my older cousins did and I was always curious. How adequate is this collection for a complete newcomer not only to the saga but to 2d fighting as a whole?
@@RonnRicco no, I haven't. Was going to try a wired controller but not worth my time and money. I think the fast players are gaming it on another console. Just my opinion
@@bry954rr That's what I was thinking. I'm just shocked there aren't more queries from Switch players in this regard. I still have my dreamcast so I'm not bummed about MVC or MVC2. I wanted to finally to be able to play XvsS & MSHvsC on console. Someone on reddit gave a list of other bluetooth controllers to try so I may give each one a try from amazon thru trial and error lol.
I don’t understand why the video doesn’t match the narration. I feel it’s just random game footage that is played from each game while it is narrated, rather than footage that matches. Unless you were clued up on the games, phrases such as ‘variable assist’, ‘partner assist’, ‘norimato’ mean nothing without footage to back it up.
So sad that the original X-Men arcade game isn't included....why does that game never get re-released? That one and the original arcade version of Killer Instinct really need to be re-released.
Honestly after hearing everything said, the 9 threw me haha, expected a 10 and I'm usually spot on. Makes me wonder what the reason is for the lost point, is it just because it's not a new game?
Yo don’t forget capcom on the next collection. Please include aliens vs predator the arcade game, snk vs capcom 1 and 2 and tatsunoko vs capcom and mvc infinite with the dlc characters that should have released
Do we know if the physical switch version will actually have all the games in the cartridge or will it require that we download the games? I guess vice versa for the PS version too
It'll had all the games on the cartridge cause the previous Capcom Fighting Collection did had all the games in the cartridge. You also can't even buy every game in the collection separately anyways. I know that it had all the games on the cartridge cause when I play the cartridge on a Switch that doesn't had my account I could still access all the games.
@VOAN that's good. Just heard about the "physical game" in like Europe advertised that it would be digital. Plus disney is Hella involved. Wouldn't be surprised that they would do bullshit like this.
I will be double dipping on this, I will get the US version as every is actually on the cartridge unlike the slap in the face we Europeans get, a code in the box.
I was hyped for this but the price has really put me off. If it was £20 id go for it. But I know I wont play it enough to justify £40. Might just emulate the originals on ROG Ally instead.
Spent a pretty penny on the original Dreamcast cd so 50 bucks isn't too much for me personally. Plus I wanted to support capcom so we get more classic collections (a collection 2 is on the way hooray Power stone 1& 2, CVS2 and Project Justice) I expected online to be filled with sweaty tryhards and yeah ranked is filled with them, casual matches is the way to go for more team comp fun.
I'm sorry to say that this review is lacking. Any reviewer worth their marbles would automatically and put the emphasis on the refund problem affecting the unlucky players playing MvC2 online caused by one menacing individual. The unlucky ones get bodied by "the Wazzler", sometimes yelling things like "putting the FUN in REFUND". (Problem affecting all versions of the game) 👍
So........the reviewer does absolutely nothing but praise this entire collection, but gives it a 9/10 without saying why? Meh, I'm skipping any review made buy this guy.

Waiting for physical. Great review!

Good video, but the thumbnail background is a bit sloppy this time around. Even just using the game’s cover art would’ve worked better in my opinion.

casual? no Smash brothers is casual compared to MVC2.. the combos, and air juggles and cancels are insane, you gotta be a MASTER.

I give it a 10 out of 10 all day!! I've waited years for this collection to come to modern day consoles.
right?and we cannot let these games be lost again
"I wanna take you for a ride!"
No Diddy
The fact that this is the first time you can play any of these games on a Nintendo system is reason enough to pick it up
They had been trying to avoid Nintendo for so long and in the end it was Nintendo that got them all back together.
One of the most concise summaries I've ever heard of this legendary franchise. Great presentation and Capcom killed it with the bundle.
