I died when you were spotting Seventeen omg i laughed so hard!!! But Nuest used so be super popular when Face came out, in Vietnam where I grew up they beat EXO (at that time 2012) in popularity, but yeah Pledis messed up as they always do and threw them to Japan when their fandom in Korea wasn’t as big. They came back and lost the fame, luckily they joined Produce 101 and got another chance to be more popular again. I’m so happy for them and I’m glad they are doing very well. I always stan Pledis’ artists they are my type of idol but Pledis just sucks I hate them so much.

face was actually the most viewed kpop debut song until boombayah!! and are the third most viewed boygroup debut!!
if you wanna know more about their story i suggest you to watch the nuest documenary made by a fan!
and they are also the only boygroup from 2012 where no member is in the military lol
4/5 are born in 1995 and aaron in 1993 and since he's american he doesnt have to enlist
as for love paint, there was something in between, good bye baby in 2014 and some singles
in march 2016 there was also overcome and since that they were involved in production and writing!!

I heard it was the most popular debut until Twice's debut but idk 😅
      Maybe I was just misinformed.

      @forgivemenot1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@loveyaok1231 You were misinformed which isn't your fault it's just that there's too much misinformation out there, their debut was actually quite average for the time, good but not huge and in fact they were slowly growing with each comeback up until Hello, then two things happened one after the other, they released Sleep Talking which tanked at the time and then they went to promote in China for about a year, those two things killed their career.
What the original poster was talking about was their debut video on LOEN TV which later became 1thek was for a very long time the highest viewed MV on that channel for a number of years with about 60 million views before they regained popularity after appearing on Produce, however views on TH-cam doesn't = popularity if it isn't reflected in sales, if as little as 2% of those views had been album sales NU'EST would have been bigger than EXO.

      @btan768 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@forgivemenot1 the debut that year, in terms of popularity, if I remember correctly was B.A.P, NU'EST, EXO, VIXX, BTOB. Both B.A.P and NU'EST were really strong with their voice for the teens concept (and EXO too, but not as big)

For Heaven, there's a few "easter eggs" in the formations
    - 36:35 - 36:48 : SVT's Joshua starts followed by Nu'est ARON, they're the "LA Boys" as they're both from Los Angelas
-36:49 - 36:57 : Nu'est Ren followed by SVT's Jeonghan, they're the "pretty boys", the 2 known for their visuals and having long hair at debut.
-37:27 Nu'est JR followed by SVT Wonwoo, the "Deep Voice Rappers"
    - 38:34 - 38:42 SVT's Seungkwan followed by DK then Nu'est Baekho, the "main vocalists"
    - 40:17 you were right about the ending, the two standing were Scoups and JR, the leaders of the groups.
I am still sad to this day about how we never got a studio release of this song. Also, they only performed this once at the 2017 MAMA awards and that unfortunately fell victim to one of the worst camera work/directing ever at an award show. The timing was all off, they kept panning to the audience or doing ariel drone shots at key points, and they kept focusing on not the person singing. So what was supposed to be a legendary performance was completely ruined. We honestly didn't see how amazing this work of art of a choreography until they released this dance practice.

We love to see it when Nuest gets some attention!
Even if they were not the first group i stanned, they were still the very first group that i started collecting albums for.
A little bit sad to not see the gems Action, Bet Bet or Dejavu here, but honestlyim still so incredibly happy to see all these songs cause lets be real they have so many amazing songs and there is no way anyone has time to react to all of their bops in one video, also thank you so much to the patreon who requested this! ^^

OK I SCREAMED AGAIN WHEN I FOUND THIS!!! I'm like one of the biggest Pledis groups stan out there lol.
NU'EST actually debuted very young. 4/5 members are just the same age as S. Coups of SVT. S.Coups and Woozi were initially considered to debut under NU'EST. Also, Baekho is like Woozi. He composed some of NU'EST songs. When they joined Produce 101, Kahi (former leader of AFTER SCHOOL, who trained in Pledis with JR and Baekho) was one of the coaches and she literally cried when NU'EST performed. It was the most tragic Pledis fam reunion ever. Baekho was saying how we wanted to be like SEVENTEEN :( In conclusion, we wanna fight Pledis.
And yes the last part in Heaven was a leader line situation! Lol. JR is NU'EST 's leader, dubbed as the "Nation's Leader" in Produce 101 because netizens lauded his leadership skills.

One of my very favorite fan videos is SVT Seungkwan making NU'EST Ren laugh and laugh by doing the choreo for "Sleep Talking" at 2018 ISAC. NU'EST claims to be embarrassed by "Sleep Talking," but everyone kind of loves it for being as ridiculous as it is. th-cam.com/video/D6_90A__BMg/w-d-xo.html
Of MVs not featured here, I have a special soft spot for NU'EST W's "Dejavu" (especially good for someone who likes Ren!) and for NU'EST's "Overcome," which really was the start of their current sound. Also, bonus cameo by a Pristin member in the video.

Yay! I’m so glad you reacted to Nu’est! They’re one of my favorite boy groups. Their backstory is incredible (I’m sure you’ll come to find out). They spent so many years unknown and struggling and have somehow managed to pull themselves out and become a successful group. They’re doing fairly well now in Korea but are still hugely underrated internationally.
I don’t want to give too much away since you’re likely going to be watching “Journey it Nu’est”. But basically what caused their downfall was partially a switch in sound with “Hello” (most groups don’t do ballad type songs as a title track) and Pledis sending them overseas to promote in China and Japan too early and for too long (there were out of Korea for a year). Essentially Pledis was really pushing for international outreach around 2013, they really had the idea to expand globally like SM was, but the problem is Nu’est was still a very new group without a stable fanbase so in doing that, they lost a lot of Korean fans. This honestly wasn’t really Pledis being a terrible company (at least at the time), it’s more of them being fairly new (Nu'est was their first boygroup), not knowing how to run things or having the connections and funding large companies had and they really bit off more than can chew. So as a result, Nu’est lost its Korean fanbase and Pledis lost a lot of money and practically went bankrupt. And because of that, they essentially shelved After School, Nu’est got less and less comebacks and Seventeen’s debut got delayed. But Nu’est doing fine now, their promotions are handled much better than before (Pledis is still a work in progress unfortunately) and they actually renewed their contracts. Anyways, you’ll eventually come to learn their journey.
Funfact: Scoups was originally supposed to be part of Nu’est.

I've scrolled most of the comments and I don't think I saw anyone mentioned the Nu'est documentary????????? Maybe you'll watch it during Part 2. It's fan-made, the name is The Journey of Nu'est and it's done by the channel Lay Naran. It's exceptionally cohesive and will give a very good run-down of the history of the group. Forget "unhelpful guides" etc, this is the 101 crash course into the group, and entertaining in itself. Prepare to cry, they had an anime-style redemption.
Also as mentioned by the other commenters I'm so sad a lot of MVs were missed out!! Their first comeback Action I personally prefer over Face (though I agree it probably wasn't an essential addition on a first-time listener's list).
I can't believe Overcome was omitted, because that's when they started producing their own music, one of the turning points in their change in sound. I personally prefer Love Paint (and the whole Canvas album omg, there was a producer who said that the song Look (A Starlight Night) is the epitome of Nu'est's sound), but I think Overcome was more significant :) definitely not objecting to seeing Love Paint though!!
Of course, you need to react to Deja Vu, objectively and definitively the best song Baekho has written (2/3 Nu'est W title). I also love Help Me (3/3 Nu'est W title and my personal Nu'est W fave).
Then, of course, BET BET, the most luxurious, decadent, unctuous Nu'est MV ever (we're talking head-to-toe Saint Laurent, universe juice, and apparently a designer lamp).
This list is definitely good, I thought it could have done with a couple more MVs to get a better picture of their style progression. After all, they always strive for New Establish Style Tempo lol, but who can really say when all of their title tracks are so incredible.
Regardless, thanks so much for putting your time in this!! I'm always so happy to see more people listening to Nu'est.

Trust me, I SO SO SO wanted to put everything in, but alas the playlist could only be so long. I put Love Paint in cause I personally prefer it to Overcome, and also I like the aesthetics of the MV. I REALLY wanted to include Deja Vu too, but I thought since it was a NU'EST intro I should focus more on OT5 songs. I wish I could have included more songs too but the playlist had to be 30 mins so I challenge you to narrow down NU'EST's amazing discography to that lol, I tried my best!!! The part 2 on Patreon is Boys Day.

I am so happy you're reacting to one of my favourite groups! I would highly recommend watching this documentary on Nu'est, it really explains in detail everything that happened from debut leading up to Minhyun ending up in wannaone and how they managed to gain success again. Too much happened with Nu'est to be able to explain properly in comments and I really think it's important to know how they got to where they are. As someone who stuck by them since debut till now, I think this video does a good job of explaining the main points and shows their personalities and struggles well. Whilst it would be great to see a reaction to it, even if you don't react to it, watching it in your own time would be helpful to help you understand the situation. These boys went through such a hard time and they deserve the world. It's not all gloomy either, it definitely comes out as overall heartwarming so it's not too depressing! Which is good since crying for 28 minutes can be dehydrating haha

yay!!! a nuest reaction finally! omg I can't believe overcome, deja vu and help me weren't recommended, those are some of the fandom favourites :( you should react those sometime soon if u find time! Just something to know, from the songs you've checked out, starting with Love Paint is where Nuest began self producing their stuff. Nuest's last three and all of Nuest w mini albums have been self produced, it's the main reason their sound changed so drastically. As for Nuest's revival,, it is a really sad story, there's a fan made documentary detailing what happened on youtube if you'd like to check it out, but they seriously have one of the most inspirational stories Ive seen in Kpop, going from almost disbanding to currently being a top 10 boy group in Korea is literally insane. Also in regards to their relationship with seventeen, like they have to be the closest senior/junior relationship ive seen yet. 4/5 of Nuest are the same age as 95 line from seventeen, and most of them trained together ( s.coups was actually supposed to debut with them, and woozi was gonna debut in their cancelled brother group) so they're very close and have revealed they felt like family rather than coworkers on many different occasions lol. I find it cool that they both have always promoted each others comebacks, as recently as Ren and Baekho doing the left and right challenge with Seungkwan and Hoshi, and Minghao, Jun and Seungkwan all promoting Im in Trouble on their social media ( not to mention svt promoting their comebacks that weren't selling well with their newfound fanbase after their first win and aju nice's success,, :((( )

Oh man, thank you for reacting to nuest! They were my introduction to kpop actually, so they hold a very special place in my heart - their song “deja vu” was the first song I heard of them so I would’ve loved to see you react to it but I’m thankful for this insane 40-minute video!
So Jonghyun (stage name: JR, leader, main rapper) was my ult bias until Seungcheol (s.coups) came and completely stole me away (what can I say, just like you I’m a sucker for leaders...) but I adore his unique tone when rapping, stunning visuals and amazing dancing (can’t remember for sure but I think he’s the main dancer as well? we love a triple threat).
(takes a deep breath) OK SO LET ME TALK ABOUT HEAVEN. There’s a lot of parallels between the two groups and their members that they chose to highlight in this song through their choreography such as; aron and joshua starting off the song together (the Los Angeles boys, they actually have a few mutual friends as they grew up in the same neighborhood) and then ren and jeonghan following them (the “flower boys”, known for their visuals within the group). then, jr and wonwoo raps together (both with similar rap tones that are more baritone and gritty). then, after the second verse and leading into the chorus, all three main vocals performs the pre-chorus part together; dk, seungkwan and baekho. and last but not least, jr and coups has their moment together as the two leaders; holding onto each other and guiding each other and then being the only two standing at the end as the rest of the members fall down.
(if you can’t tell, “heaven” is one of my favorite performances and it’s a crime that there isn’t a studio version available... pledis, I’m coming for you).
Now I’m heading over to patron to see what you posted there! Can’t wait, thanks again for posting this!

Thank you to the LOΛE (fandom name) that recommended this playlist to you. Pledis screws over almost all their groups except 17 for mismanagement. After Sleep Talking Pledis really messed them up and the fans left. They thought they were going to disband after Love Paint since it barely sold any albums. They gained a lot of popularity after produce 101. After that they had an amazing reversal. Pledis still sucks at managing them, but the fandom is super loyal now.
You have to watch the full Queen's Knight series. It goes Overcome, Love Paint, Where You At, Deja Vu, Help Me, Universe, and Bet Bet in that order. My favorite title track is Good Bye Bye and Deja Vu. Also their bsides are good too. I highly recommend Look, Storybook, LIE, Segno, Bass, and Stay Up All Night.

was a debut song and most members except for Aron were 16 year old high school students (2013). was released next year (2014) Then Pledis sent them to China and Japan even without manager. was released in 2016 but they already lost their fandom. . . The company was in financial difficulty so NU'EST was forced to be a panhandler. With that money Pledis made the second boy group "seventeen" and they instantly got famous. Sadly NU'EST was forgotten both by fans and company. That's why NU'EST participated in produce 101. They didn't want to be trainee again but they had to whatever they can. :( As a result, they came back to the stage and became fanous, however L.O.ㅅ.E (fandom's name) got hurt because Pledis treated them cruelly. NU'EST members never forget fans' love. You said that they were grown up after watching Love Paint M /V. I think that is because BAEKHO began to participate in making music (lyric and melody) And NU'EST will be more sophisticated.

Thanks for reacting to NU'EST. It's a group with a good start but nearly disbanded in early 2017. Joining the survival show Produce 101 S2 as the last struggle for survival , they finally got the recognition of their talents and popularity surged.
About discography - The following is a list of the title track of the EPs or albums released:
    Face (2012, debut song); Action (2012); Hello (2013); Sleep Talking (2013); Goodbye Bye (2014); l am Bad (2015); Overcome (2016); Love Paint (2016); If you (2017, NU'EST W, digital only); Where You At (2017, NU'EST W); Dejavu (2018, NU'EST W); Help Me (2018, NUEST W); A Song for You ( 2019, digital only); Bet Bet (2019); Love Me ( 2019) and I Am In Trouble (2020).
Overcome, Love Paint, Where You At, Dejavu, Help Me and Bet Bet are all connected - The Queen & the Knights concept. From Where You At onwards, the group songs (both title tracks & b-side ones except Moon Dance in the latest album)' are produced (composing and writing lyrics) by Baekho, the main vocal. For I am in Trouble, the line distribution is evenly made, with each getting about 20% of lines, and this also demonstrates their strong vocal.
    About members:
JR - Leader, main rapper (1995, June)
Aron - Vocalist, rapper , Come from LA ( 1993, May)
Baekho - Main vocal and producer ( powerful highnote) (1995, July)
Minhyun - Lead vocal (honey sweet vocal & great at falsetto ) (1995, Aug)
Ren - Vocalist and the youngest ( 1995, Nov), your bias
I support them not just because of their visuals & vocals. Their close bond & friendship is something l really appreciate.
Hope you can react to more songs of NU'EST.

Don't mind me going through your video lol.
I kinda vibe with being used to a certain sound and being so attached to it that it's hard to vibe with others sometimes. Though I'm in the opposite direction. I got into kpop in 2011. Nu'est is the first group I've stanned since debut. I'm very attached to 2nd gen vibes. While I do absolutely stan later 3rd gen and 4th gen groups, a lot of the times the music doesn't do it for me. It's just not my style. Whereas back in 2011-2013 (maybe 2014 too) literally every group I heard I absolutely loved. Now it's more like 1/4 of the groups.
So that very much makes sense. If you're used to later 3rd gen and 4th gen sounds and love that. 1st-2nd gen will be different and not as much to your taste

I watched Produce 101 and back then I was familliar with the name Nu'est, but I didn't know anything else about them. Hearing their story on the show broke my heart. Apparently Ren's mom was handing out flyers and asking people to vote for her son, so he could start again after everything Pledis put them through. Thankfully they got enough attention from Produce for Pledis to start caring again and I'm really happy with the new artistic direction. It's the perfect balance between having a distinguishable sound and not being boring and repetitive.

"I'm assuming you weren't a dick..." LOL! That was cool! And you're right, he wasn't the bad guy in this video. None of the group are bad guys. Since it looks like nobody else who commented explained the theme for you:
The song/video is about that iconic girl we've all met who dates a guy and then sneaks around dating all of his friends too. The video shows the turmoil of emotions as each member slowly figures it out. Ren notices a photo on her 'phone, then she's shown avoiding calls from the one she dropped, Baekho hurt/angry when she's seen riding with another guy, etc. It shows their hurt at her betrayals, but their concern also depicts how difficult it can be to let go of love-- even when it's for the wrong person.
One of the things I like is that the song doesn't make her out a villainess. She seems just as conflicted and hurt as the boys. I think anyone over the age of 25 has met a girl or guy like this: passionate but fickle and unable to commit to a long-term relationship and leaving a trail of heartbreak. It's cool that the video shows not just each boy's hurt over her deceptions, but her pain and self-imposed loneliness as well. I suspect that you instinctively grasped that, because you remarked that something about the song gave you goosebumps. :)

Okay so, I haven't read the comments so you probably already heard this. But! I've been their BIG fan since debut and honestly, Pledis never once did them wrong. It was their fans that did.
They debuted in 2012 with Face and it blew up, like they were VERY popular... for a couple weeks. Then EXO debuted and everyone dropped Nu'EST because there is no such thing as multi-stanning OTL *insert eye roll here. 🙄
So then Pledis gave them tons of work - comebacks every single year, world tours, a Japanese debut when it looked like Korea was just gonna ignore them, etc. But the Kpop world only cared about EXO at that time. Since Pledis was a small company at the time they didn't have the clout to get Nu'EST on popular shows either, but they tried. And then Nu'EST came back with "Hello" and more than half of the fans who had stuck with them in their first year dropped them because it wasn't the same sound as "Face" or "Action". So then they came back with "Sleep-Talking" and once again lost fans for the sound change. They had begun to write and compose their own stuff at that time too and so it was a blow to the members themselves to be told their music was crap and losing them fans (especially when at the time in 2013, they had one of the most diverse discographies and some of the best live performances out there on the scene). So anyway. Pledis kept trying. Two promotions in 2012, two in 2013, one in 2014, and then they went to Japan for 2015 because despite that their 2014 song, "Goodbye Bye" is freaking Stellar, it was ignored by kpop fans (as in, less than 50K views for several years). So then they came back in 2016 with two amazing albums that once again went ignored, and then they went onto Produce 101. And everyone in the Kpop community made fun of them at that time, calling them the "Pathetic Flop Group" which made me so mad as a LOVE (their fan) who knew how great they actually were. Anyway. They asked to go into PD101 because they felt it might be the very last chance for them to get some kind of recognition... five years after debut. Ugh. So yes, turns out they're talented and funny and awesome who knew??? And Minhyun got into the top 11 and debuted with Wanna One while all of Nu'EST got into the top... I dont remember, at least the top 25. And lo and behold, Pledis gave them a comeback just a couple months after PD101 ended as Nu'EST W and it was great as always and so then they hade multiple comebacks in that time, trying to keep their popularity from PD101. And it worked... IN Korea. International stans still highly ignore them because they're "that old flop group" which is frustrating but GRRR what can we do, but Korea loves them and they're one of the highest selling boy groups in Korea now. Thank goodness. I'm so happy for them. And so, since 2017, they've had uh... 8 promotions and are about to have another. So reiterating... Pledis gave them 19 promoted songs (if we include Japan) in just 9 years. That's pretty dedicated to their success especially when the "fans" seemed so determined to ignore them.
OMG I'm sorry for the book - LOVE for 9 years and it's hard not to talk about them. Thanks so much for reacting to them and I hope you do watch their upcoming comeback!
