Even in the past sf9 have said themselves that they have been experimenting to find their colours. But I think sf9 started to find their true colours started from now or never. Yes, they still have different concepts but the sounds are there. The sexy and more matured type of songs and concepts. You'll notice it especially if you watch their live performance
유태 but if you ask me, even their previous work have their own sounds to it. Fanfare, Roar, Easy Love, etc, from the very first time I listened to it I was like “Yup that’s a SF9 song” and actually I love their older songs even more that recent songs lol. Now or Never is more like a division, two different colors before and after.
'Breaking Sensation" is a legendary album, the title track "Easy Love" and the side tracks are all masterpieces.
So agree on this

O Sole Mio is Popular in Korea... So i didnt know why they didnt get their first win. But in Good Guy and Summer Breeze they finally recieve itt
Yeah, well, SF9 does have 4 designated rappers, so their early songs really capitalized on that. Though later down the road I think they kind of put out more "pop"-like songs where singing melodies were emphasized, so yeah, a lot of their later songs don't have as much focus on rap.
Yeah, "Easy Love" may have the best vocals-to-rap balance for SF9 imo, I think every rapper got to shine here.
"O Sole Mio" is one of the 3rd gen songs that helped me get back into K-pop, because it was very rare and intriguing to see a kind of Latin influence! And I've been following SF9 ever since ;0

Yes, SF9 is one of those groups who took a while to find their sound. Even Rowoon said so in Weekly Idol that they just recently found the sound that fits them most.
I completely agree with you, SF9 took some time to find their true identity (aesthetic?) and they give off that 'throwback 2nd gen boygroup sexy manly chich rich boi vibes' if that makes any sense hahaha. Nevertheless great reaction!

SF9 is a group that not afraid to doing various concept and various genre. That's what every Music Producer (who write the song for SF9) said. I think it's really cool that they experienced all style and concept and never afraid^^ They growth with those point. Unique and precious.

Even though Roar wasn't one of the songs I liked much from them, despite them changing their sound and trying different concepts all they're older songs are still amazing~ I loved all the title songs really besides Roar and Mamma Mia but their b-sides are also all amazing. We love versatile kings! Also would like to agree with another comment I saw, Easy Love and the album it came on "Breaking Sensation" was truly an amazingly iconic era. Easy Love was my ringtone for like two years xD

I am amazed by them to the point that i remember "fanfare" as their debut song. their growth and finding their style and color is really unbelievable. been a fantasy since summer breeze era :)
I definitely agree that they're less rap-heavy as they used to be. I've always considered them to have 4 vocalists (Inseong, Taeyang, Rowoon, and Jaeyoon), 4 rappers (Zuho, Youngbin, Chani, and Hwiyoung), and one Dawon xD even though they haven't really changed that, the rapline has just has decreased line time for sure. I think they've started to get better at line distribution for the vocal line (Inseong/Taeyang used to get like half the lines between the two).

Forgot to add that I don't put Dawon in either because he's so good at both rapping and singing, although they normally give him vocal lines (the audience wants rapper Dawon back!!)

In my opinion fanfare and roar are very kpop generic, mostly because their compania until sf9 had only bands, so they didn't know really well what to do, but they started to have a vision for the group starting with easy love, is easy to notice it
I started to listen to sf9 a few weeks after mamma mia came out and it was because i listened to o sole mio, love that song!

Another SF9 video and I'm so excited~ I'm glad you reacted to their other MVs! Easy Love my most listened to SF9 song for years before I checked out more of them this year tbh.

If you want to get to know them better, they have a bunch of variety series that are hilarious (Spectacle Fantasy 9, Special Food 9 , SF9 Trip with Fantasy, Color Code 9, Secret Code 9, League of SFGENDS 1 and 2, Trip with Fantasy and SF9 Sangsa 1 and 2) . They also appear on alot of Korean variety shows like Weekly Idol, Dingo Mafia dance, Idol on Quiz etc. I hope you check them out soon.
You are right the current style took some time to fully form. Listening to the title tracks in order you can see glimpses of the the sexy/classy vibe pretty early on they just made it the main focus over time because it suits them better especially with the type of visuals and rapline they have eg - Yeongbin has really gentalmen rap flow and they all are tall and have that galant energy on stage. I think Easy Love / O Sole Mio ware the erliest songs that showed what their style will be but after it they experimente a bit before settling in
