i cried so hard when Nu'est got their 1st win.. they literally struggled so much their whole career. they had the potential to go head-to-head with Exo, B.A.P, like, all the top dogs of the era. Pledis fucked them over so bad. i don't think the fans will ever forgive that.
yes! After Wanna One's contract ended in 2018, Minhyun came back to NU'EST and their comeback BET BET from their Happily Ever After album did pretty well! I really enjoyed their INSIDE OUT comeback form the Romanticize album like they never fail to deliver istg. Pledis really fumbled the bag when it came to promoting them. They treat Seventeen half assed, disbanded Pristin and After School like WHAT ARE Y'ALL DOING?????
Their disbandment is super messy, it literally came out of nowhere, someone said that they only knew two weeks before and they even disbanded on their 10 year anniversary 💀 there was definitely something happening behind the scenes with their company which caused their disbandment
I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but I seriously think that Hybe had something to do with it. The same thing happened to Gfriend. They had no idea that they were going to disband. Both of these situations happened after their respective companies joined Hybe.
@@kaly5678 unfortunately i agree with you, the similarities to the gfriend disbandment is too much. It seems like hybe focuses more on a global market and since Nuest were really popular but only in Korea they didn’t make the cut :/
They definitely trained together before debut. Ranging from 1 year to 3 years together as trainee. What the leader means in the letter he read during the concert is that they came from different places (busan, jeju, L.A, gangwondo) before they were chosen as trainee and met at the company.
When I tell you I ugly cried when they disbanded last year. I always cry when groups I follow disband or a member leaves, but I cried so hard over NU'EST I made myself sick. I wish I was joking. Ren and JR recently did an Idol Radio episode together. I couldn't watch it fully because I kept crying, but they were happy tears.
Ikr. I was so shocked to hear about their disbandment. It wasn't long before that during an episode of LOVE Story that they were talking about wanting to be together for a long time. The disbandment of Nu'Est is super sus.
i will never forgive hybe/pledis for disbanding nu’est ESPECIALLY bc it was super out of the blue, shady as fuck & the members didn’t want it, it makes me genuinely angry every time i think about it, they deserved so much better & so much longer as a group
Thanks for reacting to NU'EST's documentary. They debuted at a young age and up till now the 4 Korean members(quite rare that they all of the same age, born in 1995) are still not yet attend military service. They have suffered a lot at such a young age. Their resilience and perseverance are worth commendation. It's also of them fighting together that explain why they are so close. They really want to be together for long but it's Pledis and HYBE that forced their disbandment. This was revealed in Korean Cowboys Podacst (hosted by Aron after disbandment ) when Ren was a guest and it's said that "when the decision was made for them". When JR, Aron and Ren left Pledis, they had no company signed yet. Ren & JR finally signed to.bpm & Evermore respectively while Aron up till now still works on his own. Disbandment doesn't affect their friendship. Each had held fanmeeting in their birthday month and they would attend if there's no clash if schedule. Later when Baekho and JR (Jongyeon ) released their solo debut albums, each member prepared a video message to show their support. Jonghyeon had a mini concert in Dec and he invited Aron to be his MC. Today Jonghyeon is the 1 guest in 2023 of Korean Cowboys Podcast Season 3 ep.4. l am confident that one day, they will reunite.
This documentary was made before Minhyun came back. They promoted together as Nu'est again up until 2022. After Hybe took over Pledis, promotions for Nu'est slowed down to a trickle. You can tell that they did not match up to whatever Hybe's global vision even though they sold really well in Korea. They disbanded them 1 day before their anniversary. You could tell it was a last minute decision. Lay Naran who made this video made another video about the whole disbandment debacle. Luckily all the members are doing well and you can see that they will mention each other constantly. In fact Jonghyeon (JR) was just on Aaron's podcast, Korean Cowboys.
I keep crying every time I see that documentary and as a fan who has been with them in those moments it is really painful and I was completely shocked with their separation and I will continue to wait for that spring.
I don't know much about Nu'est and I mostly know them through Seventeen, but this made me cry! They worked so hard they really did their all and their best! I hope all their dreams come true! They worked so hard! And seriously I could see and feel their tight bond! I did see that they disbanded last year but seriously they gave their all I feel! I actually have just listened to their Face but I really liked it. Like I actually stumbled across Face since I got to know that few Seventeen members who were trainees back then were extras there. So I went to checked it out but actually liked the song a lot and just listened to it in the first go. Later on I had to go back again to see who svt members were there. I genuinely liked their song. (P.S. I remember scoups woozi wonwoo from the mv, there might be more) Also seriously seeing this documentary I realised how much problematic Pledis was. I just knew about svt issues but man this! Really! Goodness. I'm glad I got to watch this video through you guys.
Their disbandment probably was the ugliest on kpop history because they're doing literally great and just had a comeback before the announcement, it took me a year to finally able to listen to their good bye song called "Again" 😭 I love them soooo much they're soooo precious! it hurts even now to see each member doing their own solo schedule, i miss them as a group 😭
oh didn't expect this, thank you to the requester (molly)! glad you got to check this out, this was an old vid, before the whole hybe/pledis thing happened, their story rly is interesting. there's so many things going on & pledis mismanagement stuff, etc. has become sorta well-known among fans of groups that are under the company. doesn't help that there's just so many questionable stuff & lack of clarity over what happened. iirc the creator of this vid also made a vid regarding their disbandment. I rmbr seeing a similar svt ver. of this (diff vid format tho ig? search up svt pledis & you'll find it ig if anyone's interested) ok so this is me writing out abt what the members are doing, mainly focusing after disbandment(?) since I know abt some of them, thought I might as well share if anyone’s interested (at least from what I know, feel free to cmiiw/add smth) - Jonghyun (Evermore Entertainment), soloist - album: Meridiem | debut: 8 Nov ‘22 - Aron, have an ongoing podcast: “Korean Cowboys” (Jonghyun & Ren have been guests here), After School Club MC at some point (idk if he’s still doing it) - Baekho (renewed contract with Pledis), soloist - album: Absolute Zero. Title track: No Rules is on the HYBE labels channel | debut: 12 Oct ‘22 - Minhyun (renewed contract with Pledis), actor & soloist. Dramas: Live On (2020), Alchemy of Souls (2022) | solo debut plans in 2023 - Ren (BPM Entertainment), soloist. did some musical theatre iirc? The Three Musketeers was the latest one (16 Sept ‘22), besides short clips I’m not sure if the whole thing is currently available to view online afaik baekho, minhyun & ren have their own yt channels, jonghyun’s activities are on the evermore entertainment channel. everyone has an instagram
i thought i knew them so much but i realize now , i only focused on loving their music more not knowing the hardships they went thru in all those years .😭 i have known them since 2015 , i've been a fan since then . they're like ,the first kpop group i noticed but i have invested to newer groups and never really gave the attention they should've deserve 😭 im sorry nu~est . i failed u ! 🥺💔
It's one thing when the own members decide to not renew the contract and disband but when the company decides suddenly to disband them it's the worst. I have been there since their debut and it hurted so much to see people compared them to Seventeen (i love them both) because they were more popular. Nuest helped a lot in the industry,RM talked about it in the past. JR had a solo not too long ago,Baekho too. I've seen Ren and Minhyun doing stuff but I don't know about Aron.

virtual hugs honey~ i know we all need them.

Nu'est and B.A.P, so much potential and they let them disappeared. Pledis and TS Entertainment should rot in hell.

Boys are very special to me 🥺🐯
Omg I’m so glad you guys reacted to this. Please react to drama Alchemy of Souls too, Minhyun is in it💕

Aron is still an MC for ASC. He's hosting it with Allen and Taeyoung from Cravity.
