awesome video. I bought one of these from a thrift store and didn’t even think of bringing batteries to test it before buying. i’m fairly certain it’s a bad ccd since it shows a fain red line that changes a bit depending on the light. thanks for posting this!
Great video. Kudos for remembering the correct sequences of dismantling and reassembling. I wonder how long the assembly line workers' training is for these sort of devices? I bought one of these in 2003 and it failed with the infamous purple streaks intermittently at first and finally gave up in 2008. After the store was unable to fix it, I looked online and ultimately found a tech notice from Canon in which they declared they would replace the faulty Sony CCD sensors in the A70s, gratis. I subsequently had the sensor replaced by a local Canon repair agent for free, and the camera is still working. I just thought I'd mention it here in case this may be still pertinent for someone. I have a couple of DSLRs but occasionally pocket this little guy. 3.2Mp is still good for 10 x 8 if needed.

camera is always black, what to do?? Just like the end of the video
Where can I purchase the ccd repair part
I searched for in on eBay and got lucky. It may be hard to find any for sale.
The fault is probably a broken flexor. All flexors would have to be checked from pin to pin, with a multimeter.
Thank you very useful video.
But I searched this CCD online aground US$50,
As same price for the second hand camera 😂
