LED Bulb color temp change over time
I created this video because I discovered that LED bulbs of the same ratings from the same manufacturer had different color temperatures. The longer the bulb had been in service the higher the color temperature. That means the white color became more blueish over time. It turns out that most white lite LED bulbs are manufactured using a single blue lite LED. Some of the blue lite is absorbed by a phosphor and reradiated as yellow lite. The combination of blue and yellow is perceived by the observer as white. I speculate that the shift in color temperature toward blue is caused by degradation of the yellow phosphor. I go into some detail about what color temperature means and how white LEDs work.

I just found your sight, I bought my Sony blue ray player in 2007 new barley used it, enjoyed watching our children's weddings, and vacations as we get older, worked great until We went to look at our CD some time ago, I was about to throw it out until I found your site, now I trying to find someone who could make me a cd. Thank You for the information.
Hey , I have same laptop 💻 seen in this video and I have problems with it , I wondering if I can get help the problem is error fan and I asked some repair guy and he said cuz of the fan and something is related to it, may he called it ( card of fan ) some things like this but I haven’t seen it or like this thing I don’t know I am not reformer guy but I have som experience 😅 also he said to me I have to replace motherboard maybe ; so The question is if I can get way to now about the chip it is controlling to the fan ? To let you know when I turn it on it immediately I get this text (fan error ) and it shutting down , but I noticed when I remove the RAM it still works but with black screen and fan don’t work ; did you think I should replace the motherboard? and Thanks you anyway.
Thanks You helped me as well. My calculator is now 25 years old and still working fine. They don't make em like they used to.
I got a texas instruments ad before this
the brat TI calculator
Indeed you can recharge alkaline batteries with very small current (20...100mA max.) The risk of leakage is much higher with recharged alkalines and the capacity will drop quite a bit compared with new ones. You can do it 1 or 2 times - after that the batteries won't keep much capacity any more and are prone to leakage! You should also check internal resistance - it increases a lot after beeing recharged. Resistance can increase from 0.2 to 5 or even 10 Ohm - making them nearly useless for higher load applications.
Your tenacity is inspiring!
Thank you! I was going to throw my toaster out. Cleaned it the easy way and it worked!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, David. You saved the land-fill from getting a 20 year old Proctor Silex toaster (made in either Canada, USA, or Mexico) ! It works fine now after cleaning off the electro-magnet surfaces. We have used it a lot over the years. I will try for 30 years....
"TI-30, FALLING DOWN THE WAYURRR"
thank you for this video. i just titled my STi and got new plates for her. my old rear plate has this exact issue
Thank you! This broke on my Ceton too! I had another p.s. from an old router/modem that was exactly the right specs, so plugged it in, and VOILA! the blue steady light is back, and the ceton is ALIVE!!! YAY!! VERY grateful to you for this video!!!!!!
Yeah!
This advice was perfect. Even though the video was three years old, it helped fix my toaster today in about five minutes.
I have this same knife and was having the same issues. I just used your video to fix it! Thanks a lot for this video!!
They are really handy at Thanksgiving. Thanks for the feedback

What about the oven mine has a pilot light it is lit but stopped light the flames alone the bottom of the oven
Great[ time-consuming on your part] job! Thanks so much. I bought alkaline AAA batteries that say 'rechargeable' on them. Would there be any difference between them and regular AAA alkaline batteries?
That is a great video. I have a TI 2550 but I always liked the look of the TI 50. It looks like none of them work any more but now I know how to get it going if I get one, Thanks so much!
That (Made in China) charger cannot charge Alkaline battery. I bought one, tore it down and threw it away. There is one charger that REALLY works. It is the (Made in Taiwan) Powertran A0280 and is able to recharge (non-rechargeable) AA/AAA Alkaline batteries up to 20 times. It is microprecessor controlled and can charge (non-rechargeable) AA/AAA Alkaline batteries OR NiMH batteries but NOT NiCD. I am still using one and have been recharging hundreds of (non-rechargeable) AA/AAA Alkaline batteries.
I have this very phone,am writing on it now. I am on Android 7.1.1. This won't work. Any more ideas to upgrade Android versions? I love this phone😁
You’re good at long term projects. May I contact you for future work?
The issue with recharging alkalines is that you often have to let them rest for a little while, then throw them back on in order to get them to hold their voltage (when charging, the voltage rises rapidly, but it doesn't necessarily hold as the battery hasn't actually charged as much as it appears to have charged, and will show its true voltage after a few hours). I would assume that a battery charger marketed as an "alkaline battery charger" would be doing this, but much to my surprise, apparently many don't. In order to charge these correctly, you have to pulse the charge every 30 minutes to an hour or so, and if the charger isn't doing this, it will not fully recharge the batteries. I might try to do a formal test on this using the "manual method" (wall outlet timers on slow overnight "dumb chargers") to see what the results are. It'd be interesting to compare and to see real numbers here on the brute-force method, and to compare them to the marketed alkaline battery chargers. Excellent video, amazing dedication spending literally years on this!
at 2:15 you can tell the power supply is bad from the high pitch noise it's making
I got that shake light, the coil is connected to a super capacitor, with a strong magnet, I got the real one, you got a fake.
It could Be the one is more grinded than the other and or dryer..
Mine just went out today. Thanks for this video. Now I know how to replaced them.
i opened my camera and removed the lens since i wanted to use it seperatley. but the lens is blocked. i guess the shutter is closed? how do i open it fully.
Today I dug out my cheap old Proctor Silex toaster bought probably 20 years ago and found out why my roommate put it in the cupboard and bought their own. Mine would heat up but not stay down. I don't know if the electrical contacts on mine were corroded but I applied some Deoxit with a Q-tip on them anyways and confirmed continuity with a meter. This did not fix my issue of "not staying down." What DID fix it was using a small wire brush to remove the dust and surface rust from the mating surfaces of the coil E-core and small metal plate that's supposed to stick to the E-core when the coil is energized. The handle stays down now like it was new. It takes a little upward force to force it to let go. The hardest part of disassembly was removing the "push down" lever. The end of mine broke off where it snaps into place. No biggie, I just used a little electrical tape on the remaining lever to make it slightly larger and wedged it into its corresponding slotted hole.
OH YEAAAH ITFT
Just used your video to replace the belts and both thermostats. Thank you!! Is it normal for the dryer to heat up fast?
maybe the battery is to hold a charge
Very nicely explained every thing we need to know and make decision; thank you ( you sounded like a wonderful college professor).
Where is the links to get the bearings thank you
On ebay or Amazon, search "Caged ball bearings 44mm". Make sure it has 9 balls that are 5/16 in size. There are lots of vendors.
How do i keep it on
Hi, I successfully repaired my Volkswagen up Navigon GPS that way, the old battery was swollen up. Thank you!
I still have the TI-SR50, paid about $170 for it. Had to buy it from a coworker who knew a seller, wasn't like you walk into a store and buy one. Got another one from my BIL, a NASA engineer, when he upgraded. Both SR50s won't turn on, looks like from leaking batteries. Just got the HP-35, couldn't touch it, was too expensive then. The 35 works after replacing with a homemade battery pack, flaky on/off slide switch though. Both SR50 and 35 works about the same, algebraic or RPN. I have a collection of HPs now from an early 70s desktop scientific calculator with impact printer to HP-50g.
When you're writing lite above, you mean light or literally lite?
Ware do I get the bearing And how to order it by size

How to order the bearings. By number
Try lithium or another chemistry disposable type
Thank you! Your video was just perfect. Short, sweet and to the point. Super happy that I changed it myself.
Good reminder how LED tech has made life simpler. I have some Samsung commercial grade screens with cfl's. Pity to dump them because they were built properly.
Tattletail/Doors/Rooms whatever you wanna call it BUT IT'S REAL
Oversized fan and incredibly small and inefficient looking heatsinks. Amazing how design has changed over the years.
David ✌🏼 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO 🫵🏼💯👍🏼 My dryer won't heat up at all so first one im attacking is the cycling thermostat.
If your dryer is not heating, it could be the heating element or the wires to the heating element. The wires can get brittle and break. It happened to me.
@c.davidgraves4848 yeah man! Indeed, heating element is broke... waiting for ebay replacement, thank you!
Actually we cant see what's going on with the eject part/mechanics. I just received one with the same problem but even the paper clip isnt working
I like how this video was very simple, quick question though, why reverse the radios? Isnt the other one better?
