Reading a relatively recent excerpt from George RR Martin's unreleased novel The Winds of Winter.
Just sharing my ideas one of my favorite book series, A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. This video may contain spoilers for those of you who are not up to date with the series. That goes for the HBO show and the books.
I'm just speculating and guessing on some ideas that I have on how future events will transpire in the series. Keep in mind however, I know nothing.

I agree this chapter is AWESOME but it doesn't matter if I have to cope with a couple of Sam/Brienne bullshit chapters on TWoW. I just need that freaking book in my hands right now.

Henk Brunink Well, probably you're right, but you know what I meant. I was talking about the Sam/Areo Hotah/sometimes Brienne in AFfC kind of chapters, very long and "apparently" with no purpose(of course if you're Preston Jacobs you're gonna find purpose even in the sound of a word)
I just enjoyed Sam's chapter when Aemon died and just because it was a very beautiful and sad scene.

Euron was instantly one of my favorite characters when he first appeared. He reminds me of the Joker. Smart, evil, and Bat shit crazy, lol
Euron seems far more compelling to me. He truly is *evil.* Where joker is more of an anarchist.
@@abrarbw joker is not an anarchist with the political meaning of the word he is a sadist just like euron but unlike the joker euron has ambitions of power,joker does what he does because sometimes he is trying to prove a point to batman and the world about human nature other times he does whatever it comes to his mentaly unstable mind particular violence just because he feels like it and has abandoned any sense of morality both characters have abandoned morality ,joker embraces the emptiness of life while euron has filled this emptiness with his narcissism and the desire of becoming a god

Demon in human skin, Euron is scary as f completely different from the Euron from the show and the accursed S8. Victarion will bring the Dragon Queen 2 Westeros.

Why can't the show make Euron sound this evil??
Because if they did there wouldn't be enough room for the sand snakes, the bad pussy & sam/gilly, missandei/greyworm scenes.
Preach. Not only he sounds like a farmer, but also Euron in the show don't even look evil.
I think the best example was when they devoted an entire scene in season 4 to a discussion between Dany and Missandei about whether they cut off Grey Worm's dick as well as his balls.

The only time he looked evil was in the first scene with him and his brother but after that I don't know what happened I guess they rushed his character.
Because the books have 1000 pages to dedicate to including as much character details, background, and development as possible. The show only has ten episodes per book to cover all of these characters. So character development tends to suffer.
ASOIAF is arguably a cosmic horror story in disguise as an epic dark fantasy saga.

I love the moment when Aeron begs Falia to run. It proves he's good at heart; he doesn't want an innocent girl to suffer like he did,
Not only that, but he tried to give her comfort when she was tied to the ship as he was.
He never struck me as a bad man

When was he ever bad? Hes just strict and godly. When he was young he was a mess of a man,but still not bad
Aeron's realization that Euron had actually been to the Doom of Valyria is one of the most chilling and straight up badass moments in the entire series

Trundle the Great I wonder... I really believed from this chapter that he had been to valyria too, but Elio and Linda Garcia who wrote The World of Ice and fire are saying that he’s lying. Euron said he got the dragon horn from valyria but I guess Euron got it from the sorcerers who were hunting Dany.

@@YourGraceMyLady Those guys don't know everything. Yes they co wrote TWoIaF but only parts in a couple of random cities in Essos en Yi Ti. And yes they might fact check small details for continuity in the story. They however don't know everything. They don't have any more information than we do. So if it's not confirmed by the author that Euron lied about going to Valirya it's not certain he's lying. Elio and Linda have no authority to sell speculation as fact.

Euron is one of my favourite characters! The show couldn't potray him half as evil and creepy as he was in the books! Hated the show's potrayal...Euron deserved much better.

Raven Dodger maybe, after some acting classes. I listen to audiobooks every night to help me sleep. even Harry Lloyd isn’t all that great, and he’s a really good actor, he just doesn’t have a wide range of voices.
You should listen to Davidreadsasoiaf. His narration and voices are awesome. He even does sound effects.

I don't know how many times I've read and listened to this chapter but this version is the best reading that I've heard. You're really missing something if you don't listen to this one.
im sure he reads it well but i dont particularly like listening to others read aloud; id rather read myself in my own specific voices

It seems as this saga goes on the politics is dwindling and the wars and magic are coming. In the show this took a bad turn but I’m loving how it’s turning out in these chapters. A man can only hope

The way Euron keeps repeating word 'brother' reminds me of Desmond(Henry Ian Cusick) in Lost. Also in my mind he looks way more similar to Euron that books describes, than the guy they cast on the TV show.
At least he kinda looks like Theon in the show.
Show euron and book Euron are pretty much two very different characters at this point.
If anything, show euron is a caricature of Euron.

Show euron reminds me so much of negan from walking dead such a disappointment. Cringy and unbelievable. At least negan is true to this character in the comics though.
Roy Dotrice sadly passed away..Guess he couldn’t wait forever for George to finish..but I’d say you have a good chance of getting the coveted job of reading Winds for audio when it finally comes out.

So I guess ASOIAF takes place in the 1000 worlds universe. The pale child Bakkalon was the god from "And Seven Times Never Kill A Man."
Kane Hamilton Martin specifically said he considered that possibility and decided against going that route.

I just realized that Pyat Pree's legs probably weren't just chopped off in one go, but rather, they've rotted away over time by going through what Aeron is currently experiencing. Him being there is a glimpse into the future of what awaits the Dampheir. I also wonder if crying out "pree" over and over again is in any way connected to Hodor's condition?
