Dollar General (if one is in the area) has DG home brand glass scented oil refills that fit in the Glade plug in warmers. 5 for $6.50 or 3 for $4.50. They work better than the glade to me, as in i smell the DG alot more easily than the Glade. And you save a few dollars, if that is what you are looking for. I know the Dollar tree oil is only $1 but this is only $1.30 per unit, and this works better because you can smell it in the air alot more consistently than Dollar tree oil!! Wow I’m going to try this. I spent so much money on refills and always threw the bottle away. Guess what? Thanks to your idea I won’t be doing that anymore. Thank you.
@Carmen Figueroa, me too. I live in a senior community and one of my neighbors that lives by the elevator smokes like a freight train. I can't stand to have to walk through that smell down to the end of the hall to my apartment. So I keep a plug-in in the outlet outside my door. You can really tell the difference when it's time to refill.
Great. Glad someone had similar idea..n podting it. Thanks..I've been doing it for years as well..I use lavender oil eucalyptus oil and peppermint n clove oil n perfumed oils...now learning to make my own oils from plants..busy growing trees..saving money. I even moved from australia to nz n pack them into my container. Love the clean smell in a home.
I refilled or use the plug in wax melts with Muslim light scented oil it's 10 a big bottle the whole house smells great can even smell it outside my door step don't need in each room you'll love it ❤️
This is also the case with the oil air fresheners for your car! I had one of the kind that plugs onto the vent, I guess it overheated in the car and ran down on the front of the dash. I wiped it off and it took the paint off!!! I won't use that one again!! I have a fan that is plugged into the wall right under the air freshener, when I unplug the fan I noticed that the air freshener had dripped down onto the fan plug, it got all over my hand!!! Washed my hands but it basically had to wear off, it was super strong!
Nice tip also if you didnt know they sell a smaller refill of the glade fragrances at dollar tree now I've seen the lavender and a pink color fragrance which I enjoy it lasts up to 30 days it says
I'll have to try to this. I have not seen this before, so Thank You for sharing. Keep the hacks coming !! I enjoy & I love the Dollar Tree as well.! Thank You
Love you for this!! I buy those oils for my oil burner, and they smell great! I purchased the oil, oil burner, and the Tea light candle from Dollar Tree.
Always seems like the wick goes bad really quick and the scent doesn't come out as strong.. so I stopped buying wick and bath n body works..glade seems to last the longest to me
I love these and get them pretty cheaper than Amazon. I use coupons at target and when I combine digital and printable coupons I get these for $.33 each
I've used this & it's a hit/miss. Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't. I've also did this with the Swiffer. Take the top off of the Swiffer bottle, add Pinesol/water/Bleach. Put the top back on & your in business to mop your floors.
How did you refill it ? I've tried doing this before but couldn't remove the plastic thing properly eneded up making the whole wat to big so when I turned upside down to put in place the liquid started dripping. .😏
@@judithgalvan7738 in order to remove the top, you hv to get some pliers & carefully twist the top off. Once you get top off, you can refill it & replace the top & tighten it back with the pliers.
I use this with the Swiffer FAITHFULLY!!! I’m going to try and see if this works with the plug ins. IMO the wick should probably be changed. idk, but I’m going to try it out.
@@judithgalvan7738 I boil a small pot of hot water. Let it boil, then turn it off. Fill the container back up and put the top back on and I’m good to go.
I do the same thing I put those all over my apartment I get the Air Wick Fresh Linen it smells so good I get 5 in a package for $9.89 from Walmart or Amazon about twice a month because I put them on maximum so you can really smell it. Now all I have to do is find a smell as good as the Fresh Linen I always get and fill it up ‼️💯👍🏻😉 Thanks 😊
I tried it and it works great. One thing is you have to be careful putting the wick back in the unit. Thank you for sharing and it does work well. May God bless you and your family.
These all have endocrine disrupters (the fragrances). Try essential oil diffusers instead. Amazon has good deals on the oils or sometimes the local stores have them too. 💜
WoW this is a clever hack and a good💰💰💰 saver. Especially if the fragrance refills at dollar tree aren’t expensive like the refills for air wick. I definitely will give this a try and thanks for sharing the info. I’ll come back and let you know how long it last as well

Well thank you very much for that information I clean houses and that's a good DIY thing to do you can also use fabric Sheetz and put it through the house and you're not using electricity same thing with car deodorizes when they run out just get it wet

Although I do like this hack, my greatest concern is if the refillable fragrance is flammable. There have been studies that these plug-ins have caused several home fires possibly due to overheating.
I use the plug n that I brought from the store new Thank God I was at home I seen sparks coming out of my outlet. I pull it out.I haven't use them since. Beware people.

great idea; yes it works well; just started doing this recently & not to mention reducing throwing up perfectly good glass bottles into trash - glass is recyclable so that is where I would toss them; still a waste ! not doing that any more just reusing over & over way cheaper
I tried this using them sented oils you put in them machines that make a sented mister fog and I've had it plugged in and It don't seem to so much unless I put my nose directly over the top of it. I tried this with the Glade Plugins but I used the fragrance oil from Walmart & it did not work. I'd get a good sniff here & there but the scent wasn't as potent as the original ones that's made for it.
I've been doing this for years at least 5 yrs reusing my plug ins with essential oils , it works great! It saves me so much money on the refills.

I bought the Walmart great value clean linen scent and it lasted three days and I could no longer smell them even in the small half bath, so i also wonder if some of the plugins are better than others before i start trying to refill them. Thanks
Glade clean linen. ..works good
Very creative I'm going to try that because I'm like you like my house awesome. I spend to much money on those and is taking me to the cleaner's THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH GOD BLESS. anymore ideas I'm here to learn 👌👍👏😊😉
I've been doing this for some time, the only thing is that after awhile the wicks will need to be replaced and I'm currently trying different solutions for that dilemma!! I didn't know anyone else was interested in doing this!! Good for you and if you find a wick solution please share!!!😲😜💕
Could you pull the wick out and flip it upside down? Is it just that the one end becomes brown/etc.? Not sure if this is doable, just a thought.
@@hushpuppy9225 hmmmm that's an idea!!💕
Well that's very nice to know, thank you!!💕
@@tonyapedraza180 dollar tree sells there own brand of refills warmers but there plastic ones I just take tops off and pull the wicks out and put them in the air wicks u just have cut a little off cause there little longer works great after your wicks go bad lol
@@borndifferentnf1 oh cool thanks for the information I'll definitely use it!!!💕
I've been doing this for a while, now. It does work.
We bought a dollarstore/poundshop one years ago, loved the cherry/strawberry smell and so cheap just kept buying them, then one day one leaked down the socket and the wall, it stripped the paint better than any chemical paint stripper i have bought... made me wonder about my lungs so stopped buying, but if i can buy and then refill with something safer then it would be good. suggestions please!
I'm going to try today. I'm loving this. Thanks for sharing
Yea I’ve definitely tried this before with essential oils and it worked great❤❤
Thank you for watching and for your comment! Good to know!
Although I do like this hack, my greatest concern is if the refillable fragrance is flammable. There have been studies that these plug-ins have caused several home fires possibly due to overheating.
That's what I thought too
I use the plug n that I brought from the store new Thank God I was at home I seen sparks coming out of my outlet. I pull it out.I haven't use them since. Beware people.
Yes, that’s why I was thinking too! 🧐
@@gjohnson6884 wait a brand new one out the package?? 😩😩
Be very careful my TH-cam family, use only when you can keep a constant check on the wall sockets you'll be using. Love you guys😘😉👌
I love saving money, I got that set on amazon and the tips will save a lot of money. Keep up the good works.
Essential oils 🛢 will probably be a stronger scent
Makes sense anyway, with those, everyone has different response...
You'd want to check the flammability of oils before replacing them in wall fresheners.
Essential oils can be poisonous to cats & dogs. Just be careful & do your homework!
@@sallydavidson4471 Thank you for that.
@@sallydavidson4471 just like citrus because cats hate that smell and I actually put orange peels in my garden and they stay out of it. We surely don't want our four-legged friends sick.
Wow!!! We learn something new everyday 👍👍👍👍 Can you use any other kinds of oil? Please share. LOVED THE IDEA!!! THANK YOU❤️
Wow😲, I never thought of this. This made my day and my wallet happy😆. Thank You.
Omgoodness, I spend so much money on refills. I'm definitely going to try this hack. This will definitely save me some coins!!
Hands down this really helped me out 💯💯💯. Thank you so very much ❤️.
I'm so glad!
the refills are plastic, do those work as well? also, I've heard you can use snuggle fabric softener but I'm unsure how much and if to mix with alcohol or water or both???
Cool, thanks. My first Air Wick just ran out and I was looking to see if I could do exactly this. Thanks for sharing.
No problem 👍
I love plug in's, candles, waxes...but the best thing I've found is to use the things you put in your washer. The Downey unstoppable or you're favorite in a candle warmer. It's amazing!!
Thanks ! Will do
I already mix a lil water with Gain Softener as mist 4 my sheets & curtains😉
‼️🔥🔥Yes girllllllllll ! U kno wat u saying
‼️🔥I buy the cheap fabric softener (freshness or rain ) trow it in my Febreze bottle. I just spray it all over the house (bed, pillows, carpet 🤩and all over in the air clile 🤣😇🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@beautifulstar4121 I do that also! It's cheaper than fabreeze and you come up with your own combinations.
Wow, very useful video. I have one too and have never been able to find the refills. I guess it may be discontinued in some areas.
Yeah I've been doing that for years however the cot in that plugs into the actual plug-in expands
Grand Rising gratitude and I appreciate you for sharing 👍 so all this time I can just buy the oil that I like and reuse the glass amazing continue to stay safe
great idea; yes it works well; just started doing this recently & not to mention reducing throwing up perfectly good glass bottles into trash - glass is recyclable so that is where I would toss them; still a waste ! not doing that any more just reusing over & over way cheaper
I tried this using them sented oils you put in them machines that make a sented mister fog and I've had it plugged in and It don't seem to so much unless I put my nose directly over the top of it. I did it all correctly too. The smell is strong when it's new but when I use the refill method I get barely anything
Hi yes it does work, l used method for years. Take care
What a wonderful idea, thank u so much for sharing...I just wish we had a dollar tree where I live...we have dollar general and family dollar they carry a very small inventory for dollar tree..
Yes thank you for that tip very helpful please share more when you can be blessed
Hello there! New Friend here! I Love using those oil freshener. Looking forward to catching up on videos ❤
This is brilliant! Simply genius! Thank you 🙏🏽
I tried it. It works
I tried this with the Glade Plugins but I used the fragrance oil from Walmart & it did not work. I'd get a good sniff here & there but the scent wasn't as potent as the original ones that's made for it.
It didn’t work for me eaither
Thanx for the feedback. I was looking for comments to see if it worked since youtuber didnt post her results
@@TT-xj3si no it doesn't work and it's dangerous because the oils don't wick properly, causing the wick it's self to overheat.
I put fabuloso one time when I was really broke n it did the job also...so thumbs up for u
It works I've done this for years.😊
Is also saves money😊
Very nice and affordable idea. 😊
Loved your video 😁👍🏾😂 I’m about to refill some myself thankyou.
