What I love about the Jojoverse is that while it has some power creep, it's not as bad as in other manga/anime. I also really like that in the original universe in the Stand era all villains have a consistent time manipulation power.
But yeah, some Stands that seem simple are ridiculously broken if you think about them for more than a minute, which is why I love the series. It almost never nerfs an ability forcefully (well maybe Okuyasu but that's because he's not bright), Araki throws out a concept and then examines it's implications.
I'd say so far even the new continuity villains have time power as well. Or at least it can be seen that way. But really each villain has something to control fate is what I should be saying
I would say the creep ability wise is extremely bad and reaches new heights in part 6 where the power become so complex and bullshit it actively hurts the story like dragons dream. Arakaki really struggled with that at the latter end of the og universe

A thing that's always bothered me about the GER is that, well, we only saw it very briefly. There might be a limit to its abilities or some exploit that would allow its power to be bypassed that Diavolo just never discovered. Remember; Silver Chariot Requiem is the same order of Stand. It is also ridiculously overpowered. Yes, it was beaten, but that's because it had a weakness. A very observant man had the opportunity to watch it and figure something out. Given time, an exploitable weakness might also be found in GER. People keep saying it's unbeatable just because it wasn't beaten in the single instance it was used. For all we know, any one of us could take it down with just the right trick.

I still hold the theory that GER could only be used against Diavolo because of what Giorno was wishing for.

I do see what you mean but that's kinda headcannon. There aren't quite any statements, Stats or anything which implies GER has a weakness. I agree that nothing states that it doesn't have weaknesses either but what we are shown were just strengths so it's fair to assume that that's all there is.
The reason why Silver Chariot Requiem had it's weakness was because Polnareff was dead, It had no Stand User albeit normally depending on a stand user, Polnareff himself states that SCR is, in his words: "Incomplete."
SC isn't a automatic stand, and it had to adapt to being automatic, without it's wielder.
GER on the other hand, still has it's user, that being Giorno.
We got Wonder Of U that is logic and fate itself
Got the Ultimaye Life Form and is immortal and unbeatable(supposedly)
Got a bomber who atomises things
Got a guy making explosive bubbles that dont exist and defy logic and fate
Got a guy who makes every attack didnt happen

Eh yea true, to beat hax you need to have a higher scale of hax, meaning that people like Yhmach from bleach probably solo the jojo verse, the verse is definitely strong as hell
Goku can send dudes to the sun. Even if Kars survives the sun he would still be in space which Kars is simply not good at dealing with. As he froze over in Battle tendency and needed to make a ship made of Kars in Jorge Joestar.
Goku is capable of blowing up galaxies and has tanked blows from people who can also do that, even if Jojo characters out speed goku they are mountain level at best and couldn’t hurt him. Dbz is far too op for genuine comparisons of power
Edit:I can now see this is a comparison of hax and not pure power, there are def a few ways goku can lose some matchups but i believe he wins the overwhelming majority given how many stands are fodder compared to him and his overwhelming speed

I feel like if Hit could skip time for 10 seconds he would be too broken. His ability allows him to make actions in skipped time which is something diavolo can't do. Also as I said at the start with how fast DB characters are, Hit only needs 1/10 of a second to kill you. Ten seconds is overkill and would be a guaranteed kill everytime

@@flamingcat1101 yes length, diavolos is way more useful in a set up for that time frame, Hit on the other hand can do whatever he wants with shorter time including landing like a 100 hits on Goku under that time as he demonstrated. We're also shown without his weighted belt he can move a bit better in the manga. Diavolo only gets length with his time skip. Kinda feel bad for my boy diavolo
About the Hanged Man fight thing, Polnareff wouldn't need to match the speed of light to attack it because at that moment he had aligned his attack with the trajectory of Hanged Man's movement while timing his blinking to land on his attack
So Silver Chariot moving at light speed isn't a necessity and that fight only mentions that Hanged Man's mirror hopping is at light speed

This argument makes no sense because predicting something doesn’t make you capable of reacting to it, i can predict a bullet will be fired on my shoulder, but if i wanna get out of the way i need to act BEFORE the bullet leaves the gun
We see in the manga that polnareff called chariot forth when the beam of light was already near the coin: chariot was nowhere nearby, hanged man was not sliced yet and he was screaming “now” while the beam was near the coin
Everything about the scene screams that chariot at the very least slashed after hanged man left the eye
Polnareff needed to make that trajectory thing because hanged man was a beam of light the size of an eyeball in the middle of a crowd of people blinking continuously
And i’m ignoring how the anime shows us chariot being summoned after hanged man leaves too
And it is consistent with their other feats like polnareff blocking beams of light from the sun stand, jotaro out of his prime still being faster than light, josuke reacting to RHCP moving at lightspeed, joseph reacting to a beam of light from the stone of aja, etc

So not only would polnareff himself need to react to the beam of light, there is also the fact he straight up screamed “now” referring to chariot’s slash AFTER the beam was near the coin, nuking the idea that chariot was there and already pointing his sword at the coin, especially since it’s position was clearly of a slash

There are people who want Jojo to make sense? What? This is a series that JAPAN felt warranted "bizarre" in the title. If you want logic, you're watching the wrong show.
You can literally put "bizarre" in most anime in general and still find plenty of logic within its universe.
I love that someone is finally talking about this. Usually when the topic of powerscaling comes up Jotaro, Giorno, and Dio are the only ones from JoJo’s that are mentioned. I understand that a lot of the reason why is because many Jojo battles are more evenly matched and require more intelligence than strength to win, but I believe that many JoJo characters could easily beat most other shonen characters for that exact reason. Kishibe Rohan, someone with a stand that has zero physical capabilities, could beat anyone just by writing that they can’t harm him. Risotto being able to turn himself invisible would be impossible to counteract without having heat seeking vision. I don’t want this to be too long so I’ll stop there, but Jojo characters definitely don’t get enough credit amongst powerscalers.

And then there's Bohemian Rhapsody, which just plain breaks the entire concept of powerscaling.

Pucci is technically transdimensional, seeing as how he accelerated the universe to an all new universe twice. Pucci technically created two timeliness before he died with his immeasurable speed, which technically puts him above DBZ characters because no one in DBZ moves fast enough to reset the universe even though mftl speeds is nothing to DBZ.

kira wanted a quiet life but is a violent man? killer queen can dissapear anyone without trace
kira does not like conflicts? sheer heart attack is automatic and can be used at long distance away from the fight without showing your identity
stray cat isnt kira stand but the same logic applies to him keeping and training stray cat, with the intention of using it to solve the problem of his stand short range and star platinum speed
with bites the dust is the same logic, kira waw in a situation where because or his impulses killed his new son and sooner or later his wife is going to discover it so the arrow + his determination forces a new hability capable of reverse his error, protect his identity and evade direct combat

I feel like lightspeed in jojos is stricktly limited to reaction time and the speed of the stand itself (hence why polnaredd couldn't dodge the bullet but star platinum caught one) wich is a very important nuance to make and one I never see people bring up in vs battles outside the verse

I always thought Polnaref didn't 'slash' Hangman, Hangman crashed at SC's blade. Think of it as baseball.

@@cyrus8886 yeah.. just like baseball.. you don't need to swing 160kph to make contact with a 160kph fastball. If you know the trajectory and speed, you just need to timed it right. Even the fastest bullet looks like not moving to something that is light speed that is why I said Hangman crashed at SC. Other the other hand, The Emperor is like breaking balls. They are slower but has more movement and unpredictability therefore harder to hit.

Star platinum supposedly being able to move at light speed with its punches vs Pucci who actually moved at light speed and never got hit once. I think even in terms of scaling the jojo verse would solo alot of other characters on just the technical usage of a stand. If you manage to get cheap trick to stick to you its wraps bro, you're gonna deal with him forever.

It moves at "light speed" because it can stop time. Moving any distance without time passing would theoretically mean infinite speed. That's why we never hear this statement in regards to other stands. It only applies to time stop.
@@notfunnydidntlaugh5270that’s not how it works. It’s made clear that time stop is just an ability and not a speed. Moving within stopped time isn’t infinite speed, and wouldn’t imply speed to begin with as it could just imply a level of resistance to time manipulation like with Jotaro because he also had the ability to stop time. Even if it did, it still wouldn’t be infinite speed, that would be inaccessible speed as that’s what it means to move in 0 time through shear speed.
That’s also false since the one who cut Hanged Man was Silver Chariot, and Silver Chariot even deflected beams from the Sun which are light speed. This also doesn’t include Part 1 which it was stated Hamon has the same wavelengths as the Sun and means it would move at the speed of light as well. There’s just too many light speed feats in JoJo even before Part 3 and regarding time stop.
@@reflex9238 except who's dodging pure Hamon energy blast in Jojo? Having a similar wavelength to the sun, which just means similar energy, doesn't mean Hamon attacks are all suddenly light speed, since they travel through a physical medium.
Scratch that, Jotaro said Pucci was moving at the speed of a bullet train at the start of the fight and still couldn't hit Pucci.

7:51 "We have Polnareff state that he knows that the stand is moving at the speed of light, and he's able to slash it." W/o context, this statement implies that Polnareff cut J'Geil's stand on his own. In actuality, he had to predict where his stand would be.
Polnareff: "I'm not entirely sure how it works... but he's moving at the speed of light. That's faster than any person could see. But I knew that once the kid closes his eyes, the only place he can go to is my eye! With all that in mind, I was able to figure out it's trajectory!"
Clearly, Silver Chariot only had to move faster than the speed of a closing eye, not light speed. This leads into the next point, which is...
7:57 "They also fight against The Sun, and Silver Chariot reflects all of it's sunbeam attacks like it's nothing."
As established in Polnareff vs J'Geil, Polnareff was unable to see his stand's flight path on his own. With this in mind, Silver Chariot parrying The Sun's projectiles is evidence that they weren't lightspeed. If they were, Polnareff would've been helpless, since The Sun fires them off erratically.
Both manga and anime show Polnareff didn't summon silver chariot until hanged man already started moving
He not only blocked it

Chariot had to lift it's arm
And slash at the perfect timing to hit him before he passed him
Chariot is much faster than light no matter what you try to argue

@@cyrus8886For the edit, RHCP moves at light speed (not FTL) within the wires, not out in the open. I'm not contending the existence of light speed in Jojo; solely the claim that the Stardust Crusaders can fight at those speeds.
With real light speed, Sp can easily destroy like big area and not just the ground near him or pierce through Dio's defense easily, not being blocked easily like that.

Especially when you consider Hanged Man already had a head start and Silver Chariot just straight up appeared in less time, that would be a blitz.

I mean it’s not so crazy, there are loads of other shows and anime that have mtfl as the average speed for a character, we got The Big 3 and possibly even Kid Goku depending on that feat of when Tien activated his Solar Flare

Pucci is LITERALLY moving so fast with MIH that the universe can't comprehend his speed and resets the WHOLE UNIVERSE. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure sometimes has characters that have powers of that of an Almighty God, and you're just going to have to deal. It's been this way since the 90s, and it isn't EVER going to change.

With all those from just the completed Parts, you’ve gotta wonder what Araki has in store for the ongoing and barely begun JOJOLands.
Like the Final Form Stands for both whoever or even whatever the main antagonist will be and Jodio(because, let’s be honest, of course Jodio’s Stand November Rain is gonna change or evolve in some way shape or form, it just makes heavy rain at the moment)
Not trying to kill the hype but after all shit that happened in part 7&8, Araki probably gonna give jodio the jo4ke treatment. No power up but more like a outsmarting situation.
Lil Idea. Series: Stans Swap, basically swapping two characters' stands and thinking about what some of their fights would play out like, First one could be kira and tooru

I wish you mentioned other abilities. Like MIH can reset the universe back to when you were a child and kill the opponent. Kira one shots since his explosions are “soul bombs”. Or how Green Day could bypass Gojo’s limitless

Unrelated, but Ryu is definitely higher than Island level currently. There are multiple feats of E Honda, Gill, Akuma etc, destroying meteors that would calc at Continental to Moon level in the comics. But if you're using the games only for him, he's probably Island level

I completely disagree about the notion of Polnareff being lightspeed. He didn't react to the movement of Hanged Man, he predicted where he would go and attack before he finished reaching point B.

Chariot lifted it's arm and had enough reaction to perfectly intercept it before it past him
He's much faster than light

Makes 0 sense to believe Polnareff was lightspeed. Why would he bother with the coin trick and kicking sand if he was as fast as Hanged Man.

Well it was a stand attack, so seeing as only stand-users can percieve them, I imagine it doesn't work with light or smth
The problem with the Suns calculation is it's only taking into account the energy required to illuminate the desert, not it's attack powers. It's lasers are not very powerful as if they were mountain level one of it's lasers would have destroyed the entire surrounding area, not just the small area one of them effects. Also remember the Stardust Crusaders were powerless to stop it and had to target the user which makes the mountain level statement invalid.
What also makes the physical strength of Stands questionable is the lack of large scale damage they can inflict. Stands like Star Platinum and the World (the physcially strongest stands) are able to destroy building at most. It also brings into the question the light speed of the stands as if they were able to move at light speed, the force of there attacks would be destroying everything in the vicinity yet that isn't the case. Death Battle brought this up but showed no feats that they could cite to prove it.
You say Hol Horse's stand "The Emperor" shoots light speed bullets yet there are multiple thing that condradict this. We can see that it takes time to turn around and takes time to cross distances unlike Hanged Man's beam that is near instantaneous. There is also the time where Hol Horse shot into the pipes to kill Jotaro yet Ponareff had time to sneeze and Jotaro had time to move his head out the way. It seems you arbitrarilary labeled it as light speed so you wouldn't have to acknoledge how Jojo characters have dificulty reacting to attacks they don't expect.
Another thing that puts Jojo characters at a level below other series is that the users themselves aren't anything special outside their tactical acumen. Unless they are a vampire or Pillar Man they, as a person, don't stand a chance against characters whose took time to train their bodies.
the only reason why chariot is able to deflect is because he is made of sliver and a reflective one at that so it makes sense

While I think it is possible for star platinum to scale to light speed I do not think that silver chariot does. If silver chariot was able to scale to light speed then there would be no need to restrict hanged man's trajectory, he would just be able to skewer it at any point that it is moving. Polnareff was only able to beat hanged man because he forced it to move on a specific path that he swung his sword along.

@@cyrus8886 I would say that even keeping that in mind it only really shows that stands can be summoned instantaneously, not that SC is necessarily any particular speed. If SC couldn't move at all Polnareff could still just summon it with its sword on the path hanged man must follow, the victory came from restricting its movement and reacting to the person blinking, not being able to move faster than light.

I do have to mention a couple things
1. Dio vs Jotaro was not a fair fight, because In-world Jotaro has plot armor during part 3, and Dio was fated to lose to the Joestars. If fate and plot armor were not present, Dio would have destroyed Jotaro.
2. Diavolo shows the singular best power a stand user has, you can wear your stand. He used it to hide his face, but it's better utilized as armor when fighting non stand users, because only stands can damage stands. So anyone with a humanoid stand can wear their stand as invisible perfect armor when fighting non stand users.
I don't think that's how that works. I'm not sure but anasui's diver down's whole gimmick is mostly just doing that, so if everyone could do it, his stand would be pretty useless. Also i'm not sure about this but I thought non-stand users can't damage stands because they can't touch them at all no?

Jotero was stronger, but he was also more tactical. It has always been my head cannon that stopping time takes a toll on your body, which is why jotero uses it as a finishing move while dio used it as an opener: since he has a healing factor he suffers no penalty for stopping time longer (11 seconds to 2) and more frequently (he literally does it like 5 times in a row during the magnet trick). So while star platinum is the stronger stand it wouldn’t have won against the world if jotero hadn’t stopped time right as dio’s time ran out.
Polneref moved silver chariot so fast it bent reality to make it appear in several different places, which seems like light speed relativity to me. I totally buy that they are at lightspeed. And the argument that they move at lightspeed during time stop is wrong because if dio stabs two people with two knives, one after the other, they simultaneously get stabbed when time starts again meaning that it would be infinitely faster then light speed. On the subject of dio and knives I always liked how the knives moved when he threw them and then stopped as the skin cells that were still alive on the knife (and thus keeping it in time stop) die and the knife freezes.

I hate how a lot of power scalers *DO NOT* understand what "light speed" is. They'll use examples like energy beams and plasma like the Kamehameha from DB as if they are actual light. Even Goku himself is most likely not light speed. Most stands are not light speed. Light speed means you can move faster than the eye can see. Light speed means you exist in multiple parts of someone's vision at the same time due to moving faster than their eyes can register. And no, teleportation does not count as speed. Neither does time stop. Or "shadow clone" like techniques. Light speed means you have the ability to be sitting on a chair in a city in Japan and then, between sitting up and running, you can reach the the most southern part of Africa in a second or two. That is light speed. Maybe even less.
Also, another thing about power scaling. Just because a stand (in this case) or a character has the ability to do something specific, it does not mean it represents their entire power level. Just because a stand has the ability to open a wormhole or small black hole specifically to move items or limbs, it doesn't mean they are universal because they "bend matter" lmao. It is literally made to act out this one specific ability. It cannot output this power to a scale where they collapse the universe. Just because the Kamehameha can pierce a moon and destroy it, it doesn't mean that Goku can blow himself up and crumble a dimension. Not all powerful attacks can be used in a big destructive manner. Star Platinum has enough strength to punch a hole through a mountain. Can it actually do it? Probably not. Exhaustion, time consumed, area of effect, surface space. Everything matters. Just because you have enough power to do something does not mean you can always output it in the way needed to do it. It's a matter of technique and what a character is physically able to produce.

Seems like you don’t know what you’re talking about. Light speed is just simply moving faster than light, I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand as you gave examples that don’t have to do with light speed.
You also brought up destruction capacity to try and debunk something that has nothing to do with it, like do you even hear yourself think? When calculating the energy output that’s what it would be equivalent to, their hits would output the energy equivalent to destroy a mountain, not to say they can destroy a mountain. It’s like in DragonBall where one can punch with the force of a white dwarf star, but they don’t destroy a star.
GER is the only character/power in anime I can think of off the top of my head that cannot be beaten. (I was gonna include WOU but then I realized it got beaten in the story) It might not be able to win every fight depending on how tough the opponent's defense is, but it would never lose. No harm could ever come to it, and with total control of cause and effect, even attempting to harm it is fruitless. It could solo 5,000 Gokus at once.
And then it meets any character resistant to causality manipulation and dies

@@Jsipki265 It's not a speed requirement, it's always active, and as stated by GER itself, it works without any conscious knowledge or input from the user. Even if it doesn't activate in time to prevent harm, it rewrites reality so that it never happened.
In the fight against Diavolo, Diavolo blinded Giorno and was about to kill him when the flow of time reversed so that Giorno was never blinded. Any timeline in which someone has the willpower to harm GER by definition cannot be real, because the moment they manifest that willpower, fate itself (a real force in jojo) dictates that all of their will and actions will be "reduced to zero" and then reality is overwritten to a state in which that is true.
