      SOIL1135 as far as I know, the 335i nor 335is ever came with an LSD from the factory. BMW has an interesting electronic LSD function by applying the brake to the spinning tire alternating back and forth allowing the car to lay down two black strips of tire on the pavement, but it isn't an actual LSD. I have done a fairly extensive build on my 2011 e92 335i and my next upgrade will either be an Mfactory LSD or the M3 swap that these guys just finished. Cheers!

      They couldn’t give the 335i a LSD because then it would be better than the M3 and they would lose money haha

    Ha ive just done mine ,8 hours of labour by myself after watching this video few weeks ago pretty easy with the right tools, mine is a convertible bit harder of a job as the under strength braces were in the way of the heatsink of the diff so had to shame it into a triangled shape, can finnally make good use of first and second gear, so much fun , these guys have produced the best content on TH-cam in Regards to this platform prayze to budget bimmers as if not for them dont think i would have attempted this mode.

    For the the m3 driveshaft, basically you had it shortened down to 25.7in ? Sorry to be a noob but like is that in overall length or is that what I have to tell the shop when they’re shortening the bottom end ? And will the measurement fit for 335i sedan ? 13:02

      Sorry to necro an old comment, my e92 335i is a 03/2007 build date, does this mean i dont need axles but just the diff and drive shaft from any year e9x m3 with the 3.15 DCT diff?

    • @N54God666
      @N54God666 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Zodiam. I have no idea but getting an auto 3.46 with a 1 or 1.5way with 18s are much better and end up being the same. I did gear calculations and you still get 185mph or so top speed but will get there much much better

    • @Zodiam.
      @Zodiam. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@N54God666 I see, i was looking at doing this swap because a local junker here actually has a 3.15 m3 diff listed for the equivalent of $650 which seems like a steal.
      I dont really do any track driving (yet atleast), i just want to be able to chuck my car sideways and have some fun.
      Guess its time for some research!

    • @N54God666
      @N54God666 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Zodiam. are you manual or auto? Auto already has a 3.46 so getting a m3 diff that I completely believe is an absolute waste of time will actually hurt you. If you're manual with the 3.08 then a 3.15 isn't worth it. Like I said the 3.46 for manual with 18" rims and bit taller tires (i need to check size again) are the best. With my built engine going to 8000rpm I'll have a 225mph top speed and get there much faster then my 3.08

    • @N54God666
      @N54God666 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Zodiam. assuming 6mt RWD, with 255/40R18 which is a 26" tire, 7000rpm. You will have
      3.46 vs 3.08
      1st 38.5mph vs 42mph
      2nd 65mph vs 70mph
      3rd 99mph vs 106.8mph
      4th 131.2mph vs 141.8mph
      5th 156.5mph vs 169mph
      6th 180mph vs 193.8mph
      This is already extremely short gearing for the e9x but will absolutely make it feel much more thrustie. Pair this with 17t turbos and you will have basically zero traction at will. Even at 60mph
      With such a small change to a 3.15 from a 3.08 wouldn't be worth it at all. Auto is even worse since you would be going longer and I'm not sure what other shorter finals are available but you could check tuner motorsport. Since you have a 07 you should have a large pumpkin

    Hi guy's im doing the same conversion but baught a spare manual propshaft as would like it welded and balanced before doing th job as using the car to work at the moment and no time to check exact measurements apart from measuring the spare manual prop shaft against the m3 one, my question here is even tho i measured it on the floor i realised that the 335i prop shifts forwards and back i guess the m3 one does it also but on the diff side, 335i does it on the transmission side, don't want too much slack and don't want it with not enough as this can cause it all to collapse I suppose ,is 25 and 3 quarters measured from centre bearing bolt to the face of the flange when it was still bolted on the car?, any help would be greatly appreciated

    Isn't it possible to join the front section of the 335i shaft with the rear section of the m3 shaft? Nice job anyways 😉!

      It’s not because the two driveshafts have completely different designs for how they attach each half

    I'd for sure order and rock a shirt and hoodie.
    Quick question for ya, do you have the 2nd gear lockout issue at high rpm? Ive launched my e92 and it just locks me out of 2nd....wondering if you have stiffer mounts or any thoughts?
