    Victoria left her watch on a wall in Walton and we went back several hours later and it was still there- gets a thumbs up from me! Hearing you mention Jaywick would love to see a Jaywick v Leysdown video one day

    A friend of mine lives here. Absolutely loves it as it's mainly people over 50 who live there. Out of tourist season moreso - reason why most of the rides were shut.

    • @jackryanmiller
      @jackryanmiller  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can definitely see why your friend loves it! Would love to do the same walk in December when it’s completely out of season, I bet it’s so quiet

      No longer is it a retirees escape.... There are 4 schools in the area, many kids and young families and many more moving in now new builds are going up. The pier has not long reopened after a million pound refurb

    I live here (for the past 25 years)and its a lovely place to live, the walks and beaches are lovely especially out of tourist season......If you had continued your walk along the beach and walked up to Frinton Esplanade you would have found the one and only pub in Frinton the Lock and Barrel lol

    • @jackryanmiller
      @jackryanmiller  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s amazing Lynn, very jealous that you live there and I bet it’s great out of season. I’m planning a video of Frinton soon so will look out for that pub 😎

      I have a hut on the Naze at Hipkin's beach & had a walk up to that pub in Frinton. I must say I wasn't overly impressed & neither did other people appear to be as it closed at 10!
      I like *The Victory* in the town but never really got *The Bath House* which seems to be the epicentre of activity in the town?
      Had an amazing meal a few weeks back at that Turkish "The Lara" really good! 👍

    1:40… there IS a way down to the beach… where you’ll often find washed up sharks teeth… you just have to walk a bit further than you did…

    Regular visitor, your drone flew over my in-laws house where we stay when we come down from London.
    It’s a great place to swim in the sea in summer. And yes, there are seals popping up in Walton.
    If I see sharks I’ll be stopping my swims.

    You do get occasional seals even as far down as the pier.
    When I was a kid in the 70's you got porpoises but I've not seen one now for 45+ years! 😕

      @jackryanmiller  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The seals are certainly there although I worry about them going up to the more inhabited parts as I imagine they are more than capable of picking up anglers bait.
      I do swim off of that breakwater where you were at the second tearooms & often wonder what would happen if I was in the water at the same time as a seal as they can grow up to quite a size. We did have a pup stranded on that beach a few years back.
      Up where you were, just passed the tower heading away from the pier there were two WW2 aircraft that came down. A *Hurricane* which I remember seeing the remains of still impacted on the beach & a *Halifax* which came down in the last few months of the war, again close to the tower.
      When he was younger my son had to do a project on WW2 so we found out what we could about the bomber. We got so much info including a picture of the plane, the crew & details of its last mission. It was a RCAF plane & was unfortunately shotdown by fellow Canadians up near the tower in a friendly fire incident. 😕
      Just as you come into the town with the church in front of you, off to the right is a graveyard with a memorial made out of the actual propellers from the plane.
      If interested, if you go onto the Putmans photographers site, they have retrospective photographs of when they dug the plane up in the 70's. 👍
