FH3 is and always will be the peak of Forza Series. Eventhrough FH4 was my first Horizon game and I spent like 500 hours on it and have completed it fully, FH3 is a game that I like sometimes to return to and appreciate Australia and other cool stuff.

You were able to buy spins with tokens? I only remember them with credits in Horizon 3. Also I always thought tokens were taken out because they were completely useless, while having Ultimate editions of the games did help I absolutely never had a single reason to buy those
The reason FH3 was removed from every PC storefront was because of licensing issues, not whatever technical issues you were suggesting. It's delisted on Xbox consoles as well, no longer available for sale.
FH2 was my first horizon game. Played the piss out of it with an old friend of mine. Didn’t know there was a 360 version. We played the XB1 version. There wasn’t a day between release of FH2 and FH3 that we didn’t do the “BIG RACE” at the end of the game because it netted so many credits and so many wheelspins.
Just beat FH 1 today! Finished the very last Festival race a moment ago, at time of writing. Only 6 more street races and a few showcases left on the whole map. Tuned the '71 Skyline to the brink, max speed 195 mph. That sucker won races at EVERY wristband level, including Gold. From a D to an R3. It won soooo many races it had ZERO business being in to begin with. Seeing how far I can push a vehicle like that *is* Forza to me.
27:50 matte is definitely an option in 4 and 5 it is a little weird tho so I can understand why you may not have found it, you have to go into a special paints section with camo, gold, and other patterns/styles matte is an option in there and you have to press a button to change colour.
Just to add seeing as Salt used the default multicolour paint: with most of the special paints you can choose a different colour, also with metals for example
Matte may be frustrating to find, but it's easy to configure, however metallic is a little pain in the butt. Why? Because you have to use two tone to get a good metallic color, instead of it being a set feature.

I didn't start playing until 4. Had a lot of fun with it. I like street racing games more than kart racers or sims. Although I really enjoy Crash Team Racing, the original, haven't played the remake.
Crash N Sane Trilogy is perfect. I loved CTR Nitro Fueled too, but as soon as they added micro transactions AFTER reviews were out, I put it down and never played it again. I've never been so disgusted in my life.

Tbh I never had a chance to play the horizon series. I was so wrapped up with the need for speed hot pursuit series I was blind to all other racing games. Thanks Salt, I honestly just might go through the hassle needed to give 3 a shot cause I love Australia and would totally be down to race all over that country! Great content as per usual.
I was a nfs kid back in the underground days lost interest bc nfs lost its charm after that for me. Got back into racing games with horizon 4 it's phenomenal. 5 is just as good if not better gameplay wise. Play motorsport 6..it's on games with gold I think 🤔 if you want something more realistic. Def a solid series either way you go def fun
Forza Horizon 4 is still my favourite. It was my introduction to the franchise, and as a British dude myself, I absolutely loved the gorgeous and realistic world to explore. They really captured the beauty of our countryside, including of course the historically-rich Edinburgh. While I got bored of 5 relatively quickly, 4 kept me engaged for ages. I'm not sure why, as 5 seems to be superior in most ways.

Wow horizon 2 looks rough on 360 played it on the one so i never knew about the different version on 360. I have played all of the horizon games and love them all. 3 is probably my favorite, 4 is a good second. This really was a memory lane thing for me because i was excited everytime a new horizon came out and played the hell out or them all.
FH3 wasn't removed from PC for the tech issues, for the record. You can't buy it digitally anymore on Xbox either, and the same applies to FH1 and 2. And the reason? Microsoft didn't feel like renewing the copyright licenses for the cars. They also had to delist the DLC. I missed out of Blizzard Mountain because of this, despite owning 3 physically.
I got a thrustmaster setup a couple years ago to play Horizon 4/Motorsport 7 and it was quite the humbling moment 😬 going from winning every race on the harder difficulties on controller to barely winning even the easiest races with a wheel. BUT it also got me to play American/Euro Truck Simulators and those are amazing games to just drive around and kill time in
Try playing Assetto Corsa next. One of the best sim racing games with so many mods for putting in cars and tracks into the game, and if you want that more open world experience there are some really good cruise maps

Something that not many people have talked about is how the auction house went to shit in Horizon 5. In Horizon 4 I almost never bought a new car and here i have no choice, most of the cars in the auction house cost more there than in the festival showcase. I don't know why they allowed that
Easy, 5 lacks passive income since you don't have businesses giving you a nice sum of credits every day depending on how many stars you got for each, which is why I only got a few million in 5 while in 4 I got way over 22 million. I also noticed 5 has way less wheelspin prizes for Forzathon so we're not being showered in cash as often as in 4 All this means many decide to sell their duped cars at the auction as a result and run those mark ups. I dunno about the supply but I take it not as many people sell the cars but instead gift them so less supply causes an average price increase in the auction house.
I doubt it, this happens cause the developers allow it. In horizon 4 you could only sell a car above its price when it was very rare (488 pista, C8 vette, 718 GTS, 991.2 GT3, 812 SF, etc) Or when you modified it a lot. When you put a common car on sale even the maximum sale price was less than the one marked at the festival. Now in horizon 5 I can put, for example, an E92 M3 at 300k without modifications. Which is actually the price you'll see on the auction house today. And that happens with most cars.
I completely forgot 4 has an auction house. Might be the best way to get the half of cars I can't just buy in game because they locked them behind stupid weekly objectives and gambling.

Because of that Horizon 3 has a lot of nice old Porsches like the 928 which is legit the only one I really like locked away forever. One could argue "Just drive the car in 4 and 5", which is true, BUT it's not just the matter of being able to drive the car, it's also where you can drive it. I found it more entertaining to drive offroad on the Australian Outback than the Mexican coast or desert or even the smooth curvy roads of Scotland.
Auction House went to shit in Forza Horizon 4, not 5. Before FH4 bidding in last minute of auction would extend auction by a minute, so people would actually keep outbidding one another until either everyone else give up, or someone would buyout. This way seller was making most CR, while buyer was person willing to pay the most. You know, how it should be on auction. With removal of this feature, winning auction or not became a diceroll. Unless car is remarkably unwanted, winner is the one who gets lucky with timing, to block other bidders, and not get blocked first. There's no purpose making a bid before last minute of auction, as bidding wars are no longer possible.
28:00 Matte paint is still in FH3, 4 and 5. It's under special colors, right next to the Iridescents. You just have to manually adjust the color using the Color Fine Tune.
I never really liked racing games until I tried Horizon and I've played all of them, since. My friends and I always joked that the story of the next game would be "former horizon bosses trying to race and raise money to pay off damages from previous festivals"
Not really. Then again, I have the inferior Steam version, but it doesn't run exceptionally well, and has crashed a few times. If I try and restart one of the dumb business events, there's about a 75-90% chance that it will get stuck in an infinite load. It also randomly keeps "optimizing for my PC" and I have to keep going in and unfucking things. On bootup it frequently randomly takes WAY too long to load, like it's struggling to load the loading screen. They also broke wheel support and save transfers with no desire to fix it even for 5.
@@JZStudiosonline is there a difference between steam and windos verisons? I got Horizon 5 on steam since it was on big discount but it has several bugs and even completely crashes from time to time. I cant be my PC since various other games run smoothly
@@nsk370 Don't know. Haven't bought it and every time I ask I get a non-answer. My biggest issue with the steam version of 4 is the controller support is broken for wheels. You also can't import/export liveries and tunes even though it's tied into exactly the same servers.
I got horizon 2 with my xbox one on 2014 and even though im not a racing fan holy shit that game blew me away! Sadly didn't keep up with each release so I'm super glad to see you cover these! If you're going to use a wheel in any Horizon game, you should also go into the settings and change the steering to "simulation". The standard setting is specific to controller and can make the driving frustrating...
Horizon 2 on Xbox One is a completely different game than the 360. So much so that reviewing the 360 in 2’s place isn’t really fair to the actually game worth playing.
As far as online play goes, you have to try the party mode: infected. A spin off of Halo's infected but with fast cars. 👌 Also horizon 3 hot wheels dlc was pretty cool for what it is.
If feel like these party modes are complete hit or miss with most people. You either love them or despise them. But yeah, if someone's unsure about these modes - try them. They may be a lot of fun. My only real gripe with this is, that the game somewhat forces them upon you if you want the good rewards during the festival playlist.
@@nanatzaya Party Games is kinda nice when you get the prize and festival points just for participating, but when 4 started doing the reruns and the first few rerun weeks forced your team to win that event, it became a nightmare and absolutely unfun.
Was hoping you'd check out the hot wheels dlc in fh3. I think its one of their best dlc expansions of all the games. I love forza horizon series always super fun.

Forza is genuinely enjoyable even if you dont care for racing games. its more of an open world car collection game. i recommend trying it out just for that amazing PC optimization. it really blew me away when i was playing Forza 4. it looks so well and the fans of my PC are as quiet as if i were just browsing the internet. it really puts into perspective how bad most PC ports of other games are.

I'm just glad you weren't really around for the launch of any of these. Without getting into a littany of buggy details in the first month, sometimes 2, of release, In order of the FH's: 1) Stable with one infamous 'fall out of world glitch', 2) Possibly the messiest launch until 5, 3) Launched on PC or XB1 with servers down half the time and included serious graphical issues on PC at launch, 4) Was probably about as glitchy as 1 overall, I recall some greater issues with driveatar syncing, 5) was an abysmal mess at launch, especially on PC- they borked the driveatar system into something closer to replays with excessive and egregious rubber banding that killed the singleplayer experience and it was a miracle to find lobbies that weren't being exploited... or at all. That being said, don't conflate that with me not loving these games, I only barely liked 2 and I loved what they did with 5 but hated where it was mechanically. I put the lowest amount of time into 2 and 5 (the most insufferable on launch by a mile) with ~30 and 86 hours respectively, but every other Forza Horizon game saw at least 150-300 hours of play from me, peaking at 3. Surest use of my $90 three games running, and I hope they go out of their way to fix the issues with FH5, if they have not already.
Horizon 1-3 are no longer available for purchase at all. Microsoft removed FH3 from Xbox and all PC Store fronts in 2020, and the DLC is also no longer available for purchase.
@@michiganjack1337 it's because of licensing agreements. Which also extends to DLC, and is very unfortunate, because the Hot Wheels DLC for Horizon 3, was some of the best in modern gaming.

People need to understand that FH1 and FH2 on Xbox 360 were made by a different team than FH2 on Xbox One, FH3 etc. The team at Playground Games also changed a bit after FH2, which is why the games became a bit cringy and more targeted towards the annoying social media and tiktok type of community.
I dunno why you did not mention the fact you can tweak the difficulty not only by chnaging AI skill level, but also turning drive assists on/off, sim steering etc. Quite an important part of the game.
I still remember playing forza horizon 4 on Xbox 360 and loving doing multiplayer matches it was so immersive in cockpit view. There were too many rammers though lol
@@Dogcube51 nah, F5 was an X1 day one launch title. I remember maxing out my F4 account 2 days before getting X1 with F5 and being blown away, despite having a crappy old LG 20something inch 720p screen. Better days

Sorry for a long post but this is my journey from 1-5... Played them 1-5. Starting off with FH1 when it came back in 2012. Most of us were Forza Motorsport racers fooling around. Graphics felt nice but somehow a bit darkened; paint a car black and you'll see it didn't care whatever colorchoice you chosed(matt, normal, metallic) but still this was ok. When it came to the 2nd one on the Xbox One, I was a bit late into it and after a while it ended up in just racing for championship wins racked up after each other over and over again so ended up a bit "boring" plus the weather ended up like it's raining in France and Italy for 90% of the time. But I were so determined to finish it off before getting over to FH3 I ended up playing the third one for just about two, maybe three, weeks... So the third one have been "overlooked" by me but mainly 'cause I couldn't access my main account (therefore playing the FH2 & a little 3 on Becker SWE 2 gamertag) and when divorce were executed I bought an XBox One X in nov-dec 2020 which also came with the FH4 and Lego DLC and manage to get hold of my old account again (Becker SWE) and got hooked as well as getting in contact with a Twitch streamer who I ended up doing all the seasonals, mostly. Plus I have to agree when it comes to the drone which seems like it's getting even worse when newer FH's are released. So just flying back and forth with Turbo activated when searching for the Barnfinds to pop up on the map. Other then this, the drone seems useless... Then when 5th came I started up 3rd, again so I was able to get the bonus car when starting the FH5 up. Sadly a Stroke hit me in Nov 2021, so went from beeing between UNBEATABLE-PRO down to Tourist and when I finally got enough energy to actually play, it was already jan 2022 and the streamer I played with in FH4 had already got bored of the FH5, as well as the Co-op system beeing broken left me with a struggle. At the end of april 2022 I was able to consistently win vs drivatars at Highly Skilled difficulty, but still raged about the broken Co-op part and didn't renew the GamePass and went back to previous FH's to help my daughter thru them one by one. As mentioned from the beginning: Sorry for a long post but this was my journey from 1-5...
Horizon one is the best. After that they just started getting ridiclious. I could really immerse myself in Horizon one almost as if I was really living that event. I really had an amazing time with that game thinking about it in retrospect. Such an awesome game.
@Austin Batton I enjoyed the next 4, I just got bored WAYYYY quicker with every one after two. Having supercars, hypercars, and credits at you constantly even in the beginning of the game, makes it hard to not get bored. Working towards a goal is just more fun for us early players.
@Austin Batton Horizon 1 is the only one with a fleshed out campaign, actual bosses to beat, progression, and it’s the one with the best atmosphere and soundtrack. Not to mention it’s the only Horizon game with Motorsport lobbies in it so it’s multiplayer is still by far the best system they have done in any Horizon game. For me it has barely anything yo do with nostalgia.
A steering wheel makes it easier to drive smooth. Your issues are as follows. Hand position Poor setup - Make sure the rotation matches the car, Most wheels support 1080o and thats for Truck sims, 360 for F1, 900 for most road cars. In game setup - Forza is known for terrible out the box software that cranks "feedback" till it all blur together. Camera - In car is far more natural, outside car is like controlling a RC car or a forklift. Horizon - The most arcadey trash you could learn to use a sim wheel, the cars all either glue to the track or they slip n' slide like it's rained all day.

No if you bought the digital version it will always be available to you. Forza games always have limited shelf life due to licensing issues

I've been casually looking for a racing wheel, it's so hard to determine what you're looking at without actually seeing an action. Thank you for including that gameplay footage of you and your wife playing. It definitely puts actual use and feedback into perspective.

Tbh I never had a chance to play the horizon series. I was so wrapped up with the need for speed hot pursuit series I was blind to all other racing games. Thanks Salt, I honestly just might go through the hassle needed to give 3 a shot cause I love Australia and would totally be down to race all over that country! Great content as per usual.
I was a nfs kid back in the underground days lost interest bc nfs lost its charm after that for me. Got back into racing games with horizon 4 it's phenomenal. 5 is just as good if not better gameplay wise. Play motorsport 6..it's on games with gold I think 🤔 if you want something more realistic. Def a solid series either way you go def fun

Forza Horizon 4 is still my favourite. It was my introduction to the franchise, and as a British dude myself, I absolutely loved the gorgeous and realistic world to explore. They really captured the beauty of our countryside, including of course the historically-rich Edinburgh. While I got bored of 5 relatively quickly, 4 kept me engaged for ages. I'm not sure why, as 5 seems to be superior in most ways.

I really miss the feature in Horzon 3 that allowed you to make your own playlist. I never knew I needed something like that in a racing game up until then.
Wow horizon 2 looks rough on 360 played it on the one so i never knew about the different version on 360. I have played all of the horizon games and love them all. 3 is probably my favorite, 4 is a good second. This really was a memory lane thing for me because i was excited everytime a new horizon came out and played the hell out or them all.
FH3 wasn't removed from PC for the tech issues, for the record.
You can't buy it digitally anymore on Xbox either, and the same applies to FH1 and 2. And the reason? Microsoft didn't feel like renewing the copyright licenses for the cars. They also had to delist the DLC. I missed out of Blizzard Mountain because of this, despite owning 3 physically.

I got a thrustmaster setup a couple years ago to play Horizon 4/Motorsport 7 and it was quite the humbling moment 😬 going from winning every race on the harder difficulties on controller to barely winning even the easiest races with a wheel. BUT it also got me to play American/Euro Truck Simulators and those are amazing games to just drive around and kill time in
That reassuring I got a wheel a few weeks ago and dropped down several AI level and got really frustrated at first
Try playing Assetto Corsa next. One of the best sim racing games with so many mods for putting in cars and tracks into the game, and if you want that more open world experience there are some really good cruise maps

Something that not many people have talked about is how the auction house went to shit in Horizon 5.
In Horizon 4 I almost never bought a new car and here i have no choice, most of the cars in the auction house cost more there than in the festival showcase.
I don't know why they allowed that
Easy, 5 lacks passive income since you don't have businesses giving you a nice sum of credits every day depending on how many stars you got for each, which is why I only got a few million in 5 while in 4 I got way over 22 million.
I also noticed 5 has way less wheelspin prizes for Forzathon so we're not being showered in cash as often as in 4
All this means many decide to sell their duped cars at the auction as a result and run those mark ups. I dunno about the supply but I take it not as many people sell the cars but instead gift them so less supply causes an average price increase in the auction house.
I doubt it, this happens cause the developers allow it.
In horizon 4 you could only sell a car above its price when it was very rare (488 pista, C8 vette, 718 GTS, 991.2 GT3, 812 SF, etc) Or when you modified it a lot. When you put a common car on sale even the maximum sale price was less than the one marked at the festival.
Now in horizon 5 I can put, for example, an E92 M3 at 300k without modifications. Which is actually the price you'll see on the auction house today.
And that happens with most cars.
I completely forgot 4 has an auction house. Might be the best way to get the half of cars I can't just buy in game because they locked them behind stupid weekly objectives and gambling.
@@JZStudiosonline Legit the only thing I hate in Forza Horizon series. Because of that Horizon 3 has a lot of nice old Porsches like the 928 which is legit the only one I really like locked away forever.
One could argue "Just drive the car in 4 and 5", which is true, BUT it's not just the matter of being able to drive the car, it's also where you can drive it. I found it more entertaining to drive offroad on the Australian Outback than the Mexican coast or desert or even the smooth curvy roads of Scotland.
Auction House went to shit in Forza Horizon 4, not 5. Before FH4 bidding in last minute of auction would extend auction by a minute, so people would actually keep outbidding one another until either everyone else give up, or someone would buyout. This way seller was making most CR, while buyer was person willing to pay the most. You know, how it should be on auction.
With removal of this feature, winning auction or not became a diceroll. Unless car is remarkably unwanted, winner is the one who gets lucky with timing, to block other bidders, and not get blocked first. There's no purpose making a bid before last minute of auction, as bidding wars are no longer possible.
28:00 Matte paint is still in FH3, 4 and 5. It's under special colors, right next to the Iridescents. You just have to manually adjust the color using the Color Fine Tune.

I never really liked racing games until I tried Horizon and I've played all of them, since. My friends and I always joked that the story of the next game would be "former horizon bosses trying to race and raise money to pay off damages from previous festivals"
Forza horizon 4 may also be one of the best examples of a PC port. It's a great looking game, is very well optimized, and is quite stable.
Not really. Then again, I have the inferior Steam version, but it doesn't run exceptionally well, and has crashed a few times. If I try and restart one of the dumb business events, there's about a 75-90% chance that it will get stuck in an infinite load. It also randomly keeps "optimizing for my PC" and I have to keep going in and unfucking things. On bootup it frequently randomly takes WAY too long to load, like it's struggling to load the loading screen. They also broke wheel support and save transfers with no desire to fix it even for 5.
@@JZStudiosonline is there a difference between steam and windos verisons? I got Horizon 5 on steam since it was on big discount but it has several bugs and even completely crashes from time to time. I cant be my PC since various other games run smoothly
@@nsk370 Don't know. Haven't bought it and every time I ask I get a non-answer. My biggest issue with the steam version of 4 is the controller support is broken for wheels. You also can't import/export liveries and tunes even though it's tied into exactly the same servers.

If you're going to use a wheel in any Horizon game, you should also go into the settings and change the steering to "simulation". The standard setting is specific to controller and can make the driving frustrating...
Horizon 2 on Xbox One is a completely different game than the 360. So much so that reviewing the 360 in 2’s place isn’t really fair to the actually game worth playing.

I never had any problems with 3 on PC. Runs like butter and looks better than 5 at times with the MSAA cranked.

As far as online play goes, you have to try the party mode: infected. A spin off of Halo's infected but with fast cars. 👌
Also horizon 3 hot wheels dlc was pretty cool for what it is.
If feel like these party modes are complete hit or miss with most people. You either love them or despise them. But yeah, if someone's unsure about these modes - try them. They may be a lot of fun. My only real gripe with this is, that the game somewhat forces them upon you if you want the good rewards during the festival playlist.

@@nanatzaya Party Games is kinda nice when you get the prize and festival points just for participating, but when 4 started doing the reruns and the first few rerun weeks forced your team to win that event, it became a nightmare and absolutely unfun.

Forza is genuinely enjoyable even if you dont care for racing games. its more of an open world car collection game. i recommend trying it out just for that amazing PC optimization. it really blew me away when i was playing Forza 4. it looks so well and the fans of my PC are as quiet as if i were just browsing the internet. it really puts into perspective how bad most PC ports of other games are.
@@Senumunu more specifically the Horizon series. The Forza Motorsport side of things is definitely harder to enjoy unless you really like Motorsport or the “art” of racing
It's not a very good breakdown. His research is purely a few hours of playtime per game, so it's very misleading
I'm just glad you weren't really around for the launch of any of these. Without getting into a littany of buggy details in the first month, sometimes 2, of release, In order of the FH's: 1) Stable with one infamous 'fall out of world glitch', 2) Possibly the messiest launch until 5, 3) Launched on PC or XB1 with servers down half the time and included serious graphical issues on PC at launch, 4) Was probably about as glitchy as 1 overall, I recall some greater issues with driveatar syncing, 5) was an abysmal mess at launch, especially on PC- they borked the driveatar system into something closer to replays with excessive and egregious rubber banding that killed the singleplayer experience and it was a miracle to find lobbies that weren't being exploited... or at all.
That being said, don't conflate that with me not loving these games, I only barely liked 2 and I loved what they did with 5 but hated where it was mechanically. I put the lowest amount of time into 2 and 5 (the most insufferable on launch by a mile) with ~30 and 86 hours respectively, but every other Forza Horizon game saw at least 150-300 hours of play from me, peaking at 3. Surest use of my $90 three games running, and I hope they go out of their way to fix the issues with FH5, if they have not already.

Horizon 1-3 are no longer available for purchase at all. Microsoft removed FH3 from Xbox and all PC Store fronts in 2020, and the DLC is also no longer available for purchase.

@@michiganjack1337 it's because of licensing agreements. Which also extends to DLC, and is very unfortunate, because the Hot Wheels DLC for Horizon 3, was some of the best in modern gaming.

Horizon needs larger cities. They look great but they feel like a doll house. The scale isnt there. Imo
People need to understand that FH1 and FH2 on Xbox 360 were made by a different team than FH2 on Xbox One, FH3 etc.
The team at Playground Games also changed a bit after FH2, which is why the games became a bit cringy and more targeted towards the annoying social media and tiktok type of community.
I dunno why you did not mention the fact you can tweak the difficulty not only by chnaging AI skill level, but also turning drive assists on/off, sim steering etc. Quite an important part of the game.
I still remember playing forza horizon 4 on Xbox 360 and loving doing multiplayer matches it was so immersive in cockpit view.
There were too many rammers though lol

Sorry for a long post but this is my journey from 1-5...
Played them 1-5. Starting off with FH1 when it came back in 2012.
Most of us were Forza Motorsport racers fooling around.
Graphics felt nice but somehow a bit darkened; paint a car black and you'll see it didn't care whatever colorchoice you chosed(matt, normal, metallic) but still this was ok.
When it came to the 2nd one on the Xbox One, I was a bit late into it and after a while it ended up in just racing for championship wins racked up after each other over and over again so ended up a bit "boring" plus the weather ended up like it's raining in France and Italy for 90% of the time.
But I were so determined to finish it off before getting over to FH3 I ended up playing the third one for just about two, maybe three, weeks...
So the third one have been "overlooked" by me but mainly 'cause I couldn't access my main account (therefore playing the FH2 & a little 3 on Becker SWE 2 gamertag) and when divorce were executed I bought an XBox One X in nov-dec 2020 which also came with the FH4 and Lego DLC and manage to get hold of my old account again (Becker SWE) and got hooked as well as getting in contact with a Twitch streamer who I ended up doing all the seasonals, mostly.
Plus I have to agree when it comes to the drone which seems like it's getting even worse when newer FH's are released. So just flying back and forth with Turbo activated when searching for the Barnfinds to pop up on the map. Other then this, the drone seems useless...
Then when 5th came I started up 3rd, again so I was able to get the bonus car when starting the FH5 up.
Sadly a Stroke hit me in Nov 2021, so went from beeing between UNBEATABLE-PRO down to Tourist and when I finally got enough energy to actually play, it was already jan 2022 and the streamer I played with in FH4 had already got bored of the FH5, as well as the Co-op system beeing broken left me with a struggle.
At the end of april 2022 I was able to consistently win vs drivatars at Highly Skilled difficulty, but still raged about the broken Co-op part and didn't renew the GamePass and went back to previous FH's to help my daughter thru them one by one.

Horizon one is the best. After that they just started getting ridiclious. I could really immerse myself in Horizon one almost as if I was really living that event. I really had an amazing time with that game thinking about it in retrospect. Such an awesome game.

@Austin Batton I enjoyed the next 4, I just got bored WAYYYY quicker with every one after two. Having supercars, hypercars, and credits at you constantly even in the beginning of the game, makes it hard to not get bored. Working towards a goal is just more fun for us early players.

Horizon 1 is the only one with a fleshed out campaign, actual bosses to beat, progression, and it’s the one with the best atmosphere and soundtrack. Not to mention it’s the only Horizon game with Motorsport lobbies in it so it’s multiplayer is still by far the best system they have done in any Horizon game. For me it has barely anything yo do with nostalgia.
I’m not even a huge racing game fan but I love this series to death

A steering wheel makes it easier to drive smooth. Your issues are as follows.
Hand position
Poor setup - Make sure the rotation matches the car, Most wheels support 1080o and thats for Truck sims, 360 for F1, 900 for most road cars.
In game setup - Forza is known for terrible out the box software that cranks "feedback" till it all blur together.
Camera - In car is far more natural, outside car is like controlling a RC car or a forklift.
Horizon - The most arcadey trash you could learn to use a sim wheel, the cars all either glue to the track or they slip n' slide like it's rained all day.
