My preferred interpretation of Menasor is that Motormaster is an idiot who saw other combiners, thought they were cool as fuck, and then grabbed some Decepticons, tore them apart, and slapped them onto his body as armor. Motormaster's not more powerful as Menasor, he's just so ridiculously strong that he can power through the extra bulk. The only reason he's effective in combat is because the sheer amount of "what the fuck is this lunatic doing" freaks everyone out. Motormaster is so stupid and brawny that he wound up becoming one of Megatron's greatest psychological warfare assets.
I tended to like the idea that Motormaster could just become "Menasor" by himself as a mildly stronger super mode, but to get the full mileage, he could put the other Stunticons on at the cost of becoming more and more fucked in the head from the constant noise of different voices arguing with eachother.
Hasbro seems to have a weird talent of taking the dudes with boring designs and giving them one hell of a glow-up with all the details they can sculpt into them.
Why fans of the Stunticions like the Stunticons: They're a group of varied personalities and designs that aren't unified at all but work as a ragtag cohesive unit regardless. The combiner form, Menasor, functions as a combination of all their negative traits, forming whats basically a brainless, monstrous brute of destructive proportions with a defective mind. It works as a destructive unit, but only really barely. Its held together by sheer hatred and determination to destroy, individual differences get drowned out by that cause. They're sort of the odd ones out. If you think about them, they're really the decepticon underdogs. They're a team all their own, and they have their own sort of road warrior street gang kind of vibe that's uniquely them. They stand out, being bad guys who are so indicative of autobot designs, just gives them an appeal. Like the decepticons can trip the autobots up anywhere, even on the streets where cars and trucks should feel a bit more safe. Almost all the autobots are cars, its in the name, autobot. Motormaster and his cronies may not be the strongest or even most threatening cons, but they're cool. And they're comin for ya, on the road. This is why Motormaster has a compkex about Optimus Prime being "king of the road", because the road is his turf. That's what encapsulates their appeal. They have a sort if cool factor to them. But they're also incompetent and kind of silly. Theyre grunts with a flare to them, and you like to see em fail, but love to watch em work.
I mean you also just described the Combaticons. That's also just the Combaticons. I feel like the Combaticons could do that too. See I don't find much cool about them my self. Except that makes no sense because he was Created Tens of Millions of years after Prime. I'm glad you like them though.
@@PerspectiveEnd well the combaticons are military. They're similar, yeah. Grunts with some cool features that are similar in function. But theyre more of a threat. The stuntticons are more like scrappy, crappy yet fun underdogs. Especially liked the animated renditions and idw versions where theyre basically con men. Its fitting. Also G1 didnt make sense, like...ever man. Statscream time traveled and there were dragons n stuff. Freaking the constructicons had 2 different origin stories and Optimus was revived like twice after he died in the movie out of convenience for ratings. Shit contradicted itself more than the weather in the south changes in a day.
@@PerspectiveEnd The Combaticons are more of a military unit (aside from Swindle, who's gotten big enough to star separate from the rest of his team in almost everything he shows up in), whereas the Stunticons are a dysfunctional street gang who cannot work together for the life of them. That's kinda what makes them fun to me: their interactions. Whereas most combiner teams are built to be able to work together, like the Constructicons and Protectobots, the Stunticons have their own district personalities: Motormaster is the gang leader with a monarchy complex, Dead End is depressed and sees no point to life, Breakdown is paranoid to a point that puts Red Alert to shame, Drag Strip is a vain gloryhog who cannot stand his commander, and Wilrider is utterly insane. It's not their designs or combined form that draws people to the Stunticons, but rather the individual members and their unique personalities.
motormaster is honestly one of my fan favourite decepticons after astrotrain and octane, tantrum and dirge etc....,and glad he's got a well made and unique engineering toy, this figure is honestly better than his combiner wars brick figure, even tho i still love cw stunticons,i feel like the legacy stunticons cloud work as a new optimus maximus as a call back to that g1 episode were the autobots hide as the stunticons and as a call back to combiner wars
Just so you know, the flippy thing on the gun is used so when you have menasor combined so you can extend the turret more upwards to make menasor grab it easier. There’s a port on the tip of the flap that you peg into the trailer hitch port, which also ends up putting the detail on top.
I like that headcannon alot. However I like to think they made the trailer because the stunticons are extremely mentally unstable and hate each other to the ends of the earth that the only way they can combine is with outside help
Just bought mine on BBTS yesterday. Gotta say it looks great in the promos and in hand it seems to be very competently made. Ever since he appeared in Devastation I’ve grown on his G1 design a bit, and this will definitely be a centerpiece in my collection once fully combined!
He didn't really grow on me in Devestation. Every time he showed up I was like "Why is this guy stealing the Spotlight from Devestator in Devastation?"
@@PerspectiveEnd that’s fair. The first time Devastator appeared I lost my collective shit. Didn’t really get that with Menasor, but I will say his boss music is OP. I always found it weird the Constructicons all had individual boss fights in between the fights with Devastator but you only fight Motormaster beforehand, making it really awkward when the Stunticons kinda just show up to combine. Either way I enjoy how the in game render for Motormaster looked, even though his boss fight was kind of derivative.
@@PerspectiveEnd i never grew up with g1 so i when i saw him in Devastation i went "WOOOAHH shit whos THIS GUY???! HES PURPLE AND A COMBINER???! Y DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS???? WOAHH WHAT KIND OF TRUCK IS THAT!!???"
It's hard to believe I've been watching this channel for almost 2 years now your videos have definitely improved since you start and I can't wait to see how much this channel and its community grows as the years continue
Really? I feel like my videos are mostly the same level of quality. My audio is a little better, and the formula is a little stronger, but I feel like my first videos ever were pretty on the same level. Anyways thank you for the compliment. And it's crazy I know.
I personally like to imagine the stunticons who become decorations work the same way like mini cons where they aren’t required for the main bot to work but instead they give them a power up or a boost in power
I think menasor being the first of this new combiner style makes sense simply because he's so plain. He's practically the prototype for future combiners. another ( more easy) way to think of it is that artist didn't start with realistic art pieces. They usually started with a simple stick figures and from that stick figure they grew and grew to the point drawings are realistic.
Oh hey, I think I was the guy who suggested the thing with menasor being a huge power-up body that the individuals have to fight to power and control. If it wasn’t me, I apologize because hearing it threw me for such a loop. Good to hear that you’re enjoying yourself with legasaur so far. This is the only commander I’ve bothered with beyond Skyfire (because I had a coupon and figured hey I can get Motormaster for $70 that’s not too bad) and I was surprised by how much more worthwhile it seemed as an overall package. Also, in part thanks to the huge knee pads, I can’t help but see motormasters legs as giant rain boots. The winesmashers.
Well I just looked it up, and yes it does seem to have been you! You only made like 2 comments before now so it was easy to find... Comment more... I COMMAND IT!!! It's more worthwhile to you than Skyfire? I dont know why knee pads make the legs look like Boots? Last I checkd boots don't tend to have built in knee pads?
@@PerspectiveEnd ah, I don’t usually have much to say but I will attempt! It.. kinda is, yeah? Skyfire is an awesome figure on his own right, but Motormaster brings a voyager, a “base” mode (which isn’t good but hey, play value if you want it), and a combined mode that’s bigger than sky fire. And, silly as it sounds, the way they make menasor combine makes a non-combiner feel more like a combiner. So, skyfire is awesome, but Motormaster brings not just the size but the engineering and play value. Though… he does end up needing the other four to be a “complete package”, so that’s a downside. Yknow, like big warlord boots with the huge metal knee pads, spikes, and decor. Kinda like a war hammer character.
Reminder that the G1 toy managed to turn into torso mode, although I don't think the combined mode is as lazy as the animation model's "Slap on cars to shoulders and back of the upper legs", I'd rather have an upgrade kit for legacy motormaster to cover the gaps to just make it his super mode, and I do think motormaster would be cool to tower over the others so he can look better than prime even though prime might have something up his sleve, but if your willing to look up any 3rd party offerings to compare this guy to, the only thing I know of is the magic square one
In my lore Motormaster is so simplistic as menasor because he's combining process is just the stunticons attaching to Motormaster to form "Limbs" which is a draining process for him mentally
I saw this being Hasbro's 2nd attempt at Menasor as alot of people didn't like Combiner Wars Menasor (which I agree with). I do hope for a eventual Combaticon combiner too, but don't think that would be happening too soon.
Yeah, I don't think anyone likes CW Menasor, that thing was kind of horrendous. It will probably be at least a year before any potential Bruticus yeah.
It took me forty minutes but I managed to like every single PerspectiveEnd video. My liked video playlist went from 50 videos to 350ish but it was totally worth it. Hopes this helps.
Thank you so much for all that effort, you be amazed how much that helps. However I don't know how that's fully possible, because I will make my 300th video in 2 weeks.
@@PerspectiveEnd Are you counting all your videos including your shorts and the original Shockwave video? Even your channel homepage says you have exactly 300 videos right now.
Having Wild Rider and Breakdown on the backis actually G1 cartoon accurate believe it or not Edit: he would be looking up at Legacy Cybertron Metroplex
I am aware that that's accurate to most shots of the show. That doesn't make it cool or look good though. It should be a option for those who want G1 accuracy, but we should also have the option to say no.
I was waiting this review as he, along with Scourge, are my most anticipated figures of the year (should finally be picking them up at TFN next Saturday!!!) so I really enjoyed watching this. And seeing how big he is next to Jetfire makes me so excited to finally get a Commander Decepticon
Glad ya liked him so much my dude. I agree with it being a great use of the commander slot, it best whens it's doing characters that really need the special scaling considerations.
Hot take: this justifies the commander price point less than the rodimus. That thing atleast had a above average transformation and articulation + it also had a nice density to it. This is just a 5/10 figure with an abundance of accessories.
This has an Incredible density to it, Every part of it feels better than Rodimus. Also Rodimus's Posability wasn't that much better. What did he have, Better neck, Double Elbows, opening hands, toe down. That's not a huge difference. The only thing I'm fully missing off that figure is the Elbows.
@@PerspectiveEnd I mean, even your issues with Motormaster and his stability standing seems to be easily rectified by some minor tweaks to the leg position and his overall posture. I think this version has hit to closest to the mark for most categories collectors care about than any other version.
This is one of my most anticipated figures this year. It's shaping up so well. And yeah, I love to see Decepticons with different coloured eyes. Like how Blast Off and Dead End have purple visors. It looks so neat and helps them stand out. As for the creatures collide box, I would like to see them in a repaints palooza. I liked the style of that video
@@PerspectiveEnd For one I don't want to keep playing Elden Ring as I will loose respect for the difficulty like I did with DarkSouls3,I'm thinking about getting Saints Row it's so damn dry...
I would love to see a new chug bruticus, with a commander onslaught and 4 deluxes again! I think they did menasor first since the combiner wars one was so bad, and the others weren't awful at least.
the cars being on the backs of the legs can have two explanations in lore. while the trailer was being made for their fake combiner, one of the designers fucked up while constructing the legs, flipping them around by mistake. the second is that it was done to allow better protection to Wildrider and Breakdown, by not having them face whoever is being attacked
Is there a way to mis-transform the feet so that they don’t look like they’re made of the entire alt mode and therefore stupid? Like just have the rest of the cab that makes up the shin continue into the feet. Also, does Motor master look any good with Rodimus’ swords? Maybe it will be a good use for it for you.
@@PerspectiveEnd I gave it a shot. I filed down the sides of that massive bulb on the end of the handle so it could fit into non-articulated hands. It looks really good on Motormaster. Highly recommend
My god this thing is going to be epic I can’t wait for this thing to be complete. On a side note the way you describe Motor master in that part where you talked about getting the trailer as part of the robot mode with an extra long part of the trailer coming reminds me of Fans projects Stunacons that Lazy Eyebrow did a review on after he did CW Menasor.
Can’t watch the video yet, but I would like to thank you in advance as I’m boarding a plane today and will be watching your videos using plane Wi-Fi to survive. I did that on the way here too, and new content only makes the option more enticing.
This Menasor really looks promising... I need to have him so I can complete the G1 Gestalt Collection! I also want a Lio Kaiser, but a good one... Not the crap we were given on Combiner Wars.
If hasbro decides to make more combiners, I'm hoping that they will make bruticus from fall of cybertron. FOC bruticus desperately needs an upgrade. also how did you get motormaster?
BBTS. Big Bad Toy Store. And while yes, that figure definitely needs ANYTHING other than the one it has, I really want a normal Bruticus out of Legacy.
Thanks for the review! Just got mine, great figure! Let’s talk head cannon: one thing that separates the Stunticons from other combiner teams is the four limb bots absolutely despise their leader, Motormaster. This isn’t shown in the cartoon, but it is documented in the G1 tech specs, Marvel bios, and Dreamwave bios. I never really noticed the 80s Menasor aesthetic as a kid-how the limbs act as arm and leg guards-until I saw Fansproject M3 revealed, and now Legacy Motormaster. The conclusion I’ve made for my head cannon is Menasor and Motormaster are the same person, and he’s got something on the other four that compels them to do what he says-even if that means protecting him. Blackmail perhaps? Some control over their sparks? Whatever you decide, the feud that exists between them is something unique to the “team.”
I feel like Hating each other is just kind of a Normal Con thing. Like look at the Seekers, none of them like Starscream. Arent Menasor and Motormaster always the same guy?
@@PerspectiveEnd Correct, the Cons are definitely controlled by fear and hatred, but if you look at Menasor’s G1 tech spec, which is essentially a 250 character Tweet of what’s unique about him, it says Motormaster is ‘loathed’ by his teammates, same goes for his Marvel and Dreamwave bios. While this is common among Cons, I wouldn’t say cruelty toward fellow teammates is a defining characteristic of say Scrapper, Onslaught, or Razorclaw. To your question: it’s been established in cannon that a combined Transformer is a sentient being in and of themselves-meaning, once the torso and limbs combine, the Bot or Con they form is their own individual. I don’t want to say they’re a free-thinking individual, because it seems the thoughts from the limbs and torso do have some influence. I’m also not sure if a combined bot has their own spark. In ‘The Key to Vector Sigma’ when Prime states “One Autobot gave his life so that six could be born,” the sixth Autobot is actually Superion. There was a TF Mosaic comic that explored this concept using Computron and how strange it was for him to come into existence only when the Technobots combined. This aspect of Transformer lore may have been explored thoroughly during IDWs Combiner Wars, but I never read that series.
I think they should’ve just released the stunt icons in 1 wave instead all spread out ESPECIALLY when motormaster comes out before 60% of the actual combiner
@@God-fg5hj Lol. I remember unlocking him in Transformers Battle Tactics. R.I.P Transformers Battle Tactics I had so many good characters I miss that game.
Agreed, pretty amazing figure in hand. The leftover weapon tower feels like an afterthought but it’s better than forcing it to incorporate with Menasor. I did go over the headlights with a silver Sharpie and currently have Motormaster wielding Red Cog’s Ultra Magnus type rifle with sniper barrel
Why did you paint the headlights silver? And yeah though I do wish the tower could do anything else. Like if it had the option of attaching to the back so it wasn't just left hanging around.
@@PerspectiveEnd I just felt they looked better than being left black, especially since the faux headlights on the feet are silver (and the headlights were silver on the original toy)
Since you mentioned it, now i can't unsee Motormaster head is being similar to Megatron's with an extra block covering his head. I agree with the whole cab beeing his feets and making him have the same scale as Optimus prime is a stupid idea, unless if they intended to make his alt mode out of scale. I know you hate the battle station mode, but i'm wholeheartedly in love with it. It's just miles better than what Rodimus has and fun to transform. I kinda wished his combiner hands had possable fingers thou.
@@PerspectiveEnd I didn't notice the text you put at the top of the frame at first, so I thought Motormaster just didn't have ankle tilts there for a second.
Off topic: My main gripes with some Menasor figures that that it doesn't look like a combiner, but rather looks more like cars strapped on to him like armor.
I figured out you can use the purple panel on the gun combined with the leftover piece from the trailer to form a croch level turret for Menasor, and it is the intentional use for that purple panel it show the turret in the instructions as well.
Repaintpalooza, honestly. It feels like more of a surprise + the thoughts are more focused, when there are multiple figures to cover at once than just two
My ratchets on the left arm just broke out of the box, it couldn’t hold at all… which is a big bummer because I really like this. Waiting on my replacement now but I really love this figure.
Ever since seeing the botcon animated stunticons, I really want a set of those that can combine like this. Those guys had so much character, especially Motormaster and his big handlebar mustache lol
10:35 well, from what I can tell and I'm pretty sure the designer said this but don't quote me on it, the sword is meant to be a combination of the dark energon legacy weapons making it a giant piece of dark purple translucant plastic which would be heavy for normal wrists
The Stunticons using Menasor as some form of Transtector? That honestly sounds like the best way to canonize the fake combiner look that Menasor has. And yeah, I’ve heard of ratchets being used poorly before. I remember a figure where the designers thought using a ratchet joint for the head was a good idea.
@@PerspectiveEnd I think it’s a Revoltech figure. A figure of a character from the film Zootopia, to be more specific. It was a pretty weird design choice. Revoltech figures can use ball-joints on occasion, so why didn’t they use them on that figure.
Hasbro pulse decided to pull a surprise on me and pushed my motor master and wreck and rule line figures to tomorrow, meaning Im getting all those figures way earlier than expected.
I would not be surprised if someone makes an upgrade kit to be able to have the cars on the legs up front and for sure someone is going to make a better sized sword for it.
Great review! I love this Combiner too! What do you do with the tower part in Menasor mode? I attach it to the gun pointing up to create a huge rail gun.
My only big problem with this guy is where are you supposed to put the stand for his gun in base mode, just doesn't seem too fully thought out in that area, seen others put it onto their back giving it kinda trailer wings, but I hope there can be an upgrade kit that fixes that
@@PerspectiveEnd Indeed. Plus with that, all the Stunticons will have dual guns (assuming Breakdown follows the same trend as Dragstrip, Wildrider and Deadend).
@@PerspectiveEnd dude I have way too many transformers. Once we get a Combaticons team to replace my Combiner Wars version, I’ll stop. But for now, I wait
Menasor is my least favorite combiner, but it would've been better if he and future combiners were Omega Supreme size, like in G1. Also, he would look up to city bots or cons.
Menasor doesn't scale with Omega? That sucks. One of the reasons I don't buy modern day combiners is because they are all over the place in terms of size. The combiners should be roughly the same height.
@@Superb23 Yup. I know the show scale was weird, but they were consistent with the scale of the combiners for the most part. This should have been a titan figure. Oh God, I wonder how off a Legacy Devastator would look next to Omega.
Yeah, it's not so much that he's undersized compaired to Omega, more so that Siege Omega was oversized. He's not supposed to be titan scale, but Combiner scale.
Hey perspective end is it possible to turn his legs around from the knee down to make the bots on the legs on the front? If so that’s how I’m gonna display him even if it makes the leg joint move in a weird way
Great review PerspectiveEnd!! I still have my Combiner Wars Motormaster/Menasor, so I am still not sold on the Legacy Stunticons. I hope the next combiner released after Menasor will be Monstructor. lol Keep on being amazing.
@@PerspectiveEnd For being the worst of the Combiner Wars line, Menasor is still an okay combiner. I did have to modify the ratchet joints in Motormaster's hips and turn them into swivel joints, but it helped Menasor's stability in combined mode.
I think I'd like them to redo Defensor before Bruticus. Particularly if they could take another shot at Groove without requiring a Selects release to be an actual limb.
I like it, (the Stunticons are probably my favorite Decepticon combiners), but the trailer definitely looks too short to me. It's weird how Motormaster and Optimus both got tiny trailers, but Rodimus, who is supposed to have the smallest trailer of pretty much anyone, had a lolhuge trailer. As for the multiple figure boxed sets: I'd really like to see any figures reviewed separately, really. The only exception being figures that are accessories to another figure (cassettes, targetmasters) etc.
2:55 the solution would be (assuming budget is less of an issue) to have his alt mode be a truck hauling two small box trailers. Those exist in life, and you can use the cab and one trailer to form Motormaster, then the cab and both trailers for Menasor.
Yeah but then he'd be hauling a small trailer for Motormaster, and a HUGE one behind that for Menasor, and that would be weird looking. Also he'd still be way out of scale with everyone else, because if his cab becomes his feet, his feet would be bigger than most of his bros.
@@PerspectiveEnd not if the two (equally- sized) small trailers combine with the cab for Menasor. And to be fair, the out of scale thing was an issue back in G1, so it's kind of more accurate that way
I love this figure. The motormaster mode alone is really good and the menasor is just great so far. He might end up being my favorite commander. I loved jetfire but some of his plastic (namely around his neck/shoulder area) didn’t feel the best, skylinx was fun but had certain tabbing issues, and Rodimus felt more like I was buying a really top notch $90 voyager with a box. This just has sooo much fun factor, it looks great in all its modes even with the certain proportional things they chose to do with it, and having a combined mode that can just be pulled down, posed out, and not have to worry about it falling apart or trying to get it to stand for 15 minutes is amazing. I know a lot of people don’t like the skeleton combiners but I think it works soooo much better at the mainline budget then trying to cram all that engineering in deluxe figures. I could see superion being next, having a voyager jet for the body with like a landing pad that turns into the combined body. Wouldn’t be perfect but I think it would give enough display options to work. Bruticus seems to be the easiest to translate to this style of combination. I’ll be really curious to see if next years commander is another combiner or if they will do one every 2 years, seeing as they like to stretch some of this stuff out to keep people interested.
Yeah I hate that dirty looking stuff around Skyfires neck. And yeah Rodimus was a total rip. I hope they start doing 2 Commanders a yeah, but I doubt that's going to happen.
As if I didn't mention that motormaster/menasor lacked articulated hands, that is, open and close them to hold some core to make it look more imposing and that an extra accessory that is in combiner mode would have made it a shield if you can notice the things that leftover from combiner mode
The only real thing I could see Hasbro improving upon the Motormaster robot mode with is maybe have it where the backpack tires are on an articulated piece where you can lock it in place so the tires sit flush right into the back. That way, it does make the backpack way less noticeable! Issue would be how to lock it in place and concerns about it breaking. Solution: Make it where the hinge can tab into 2 tabs: One for vehicle mode (tires out to the sides) and robot mode (tires flushed into the back) while also making it where it cannot go any further. I was considering having the tires fold in half and tuck away, but then it jeopardize the vehicle mode. Week of Sandstorm when?
I can't wait to get this thing so badly. It's big, it's clever, and it's the reason that I enjoy the stunticons. I can't wait to get the rest of the set
@@PerspectiveEnd the reveal of the legacy take on the characters is what inspired me to look into them more. Ever since dragstrip I've been watching the classic episodes and looking at older toys
I think the top and bottom of the box could be used to store the other stunticons in car mode. Maybe it could point to a box set in the future or a gen selects box set with the g2 colors. Also in terms of the head sculpt, I’m hoping for someone to make an upgrade with the Studio Ox head. I really hope we get another combiner in Legacy, specifically Liokaiser or Bruticus.
I was tempted by motormaster, and dragstrip is okay, but wildrider's backpack was just the excuse I needed to not go in on the whole set. Yeah that's kind of a pettier reason than "I just don't want to spend the money" - which is always a valid reason in itself - but one member of a team throwing me off more than the good members can make up for is spending money to feel regret.
Hasbro pulse has the Velocitron speedia 500 figures on their site. Blurr is already released and most of the other stuff is on preorder. For anyone that doesn’t want to check Walmart. Although cosmos has been out of stock the whole time
I think the faux forming toes and the box surrounding his head look positively stupid, but it does appear that you can unscrew the head to the box and you aren't required to flip out the faux parts.
Repaintspalooza for the two packs, I say, but as for Motormaster's box I plan on putting the whole team inside, with the DX guys' boces opened to the point they can fold flat or discarded outright. Some work on the insert cardboard or a bit of foam could already turn it into a gift set box for the whole team anyway... That theorycrafting for the trailer-frame reminds me of Gobots' Puzzler combiner/super-armors, but that's not really a point against it; I always thought the concept for Puzzler was cool, even if the implementation was typical clunky Gobots style. I do hope we get some more combiners with this level of engineering elegance, and of course with legbots on the front since even Menasor only combined that way sometimes IIRC. G1 animation models, lol. I know you want your Bruticus, but I'm more for the Seacons (Masterforce version or white and gold as in... Beast Wars Neo maybe? Whichever, they looked cool, and the CW sets were gone before I ever found out they existed) and/or Technobots, as they were the ones I actually got a few of in G1. Or an official Volcanicus that actually doesn't suck. Or a Megatronia that isn't a Japan-only exclusive at a single toy show and utterly impossible to get as a normal person with a sane toy budget. I'd settle for an okay Abominus, even! Or, you know, a new team, from a new show, or even without a show appearance at all. Just some cool toys with solid engineering and a little bio blurb like ye olden days, maybe a two minute short on the official YT channel. Like hell is a $200 team aimed at children to begin with, and the adult fans wil buy as long as it looks cool -- Heck, I'm more likely to buy a new team than a Devastator ever, because I have the Sixbuilder recolor as them that was released through Walgreens sometime in the early to mid noughties and even with basically no articulation and being VOY sized combined, it's a great looking set and takes up less space on my shelf.
That's 3 Votes for 2 parters, and 2 for Repaintspalooza. And what? You kind of started the idea about the box and never quite seemed to finish it? God Puzzler was a terrible name. I expect that this is the Direction they are going to take Commanders for the next couple years, but who knows maybe not. I don't see them really doing a new team from a New Show, considering the fact that the only new show they are working on is Earthspark.
@@PerspectiveEnd If I had anything more about the box, I don't remember it, just agreeing it's silly that it's so oversized, and the thought of using it for the whole team. I'm not sure what you mean about CMD class? Just that they'll keep being VOY with extra parts? Combiner leaders? I can't really see this kind of combiner frame working well for anyone else, though -- well, I guess ground vehicle types like the Constructicons or (3/5) Combaticons could have trailers added for combiner kibble, but for flyers or animal types it would be pretty wierd. And yeah, Earthspark is is only show in the works for the moment, but that hardly rules out adding some new characters, or something different for 2024 if it doesn't get renewed for a second season. I doubt they'll try a second concurrent 'adult' show like Cyberverse/WFC since WFC has been so poorly received, but who knows what shorted wire someone at Hasbro may get across their exhaust port?
My theory on the backside leg attachment is they are still trying to remain genuine to G1. And in G1 shows the cars on the backs of the legs..... I also would love to see them in the front. But that is just me.
before this figure was revealed I wasn't one for the stunticons, but the when it was revealed I started checking everyday for ANY leaks on this figure so....... I think im going to get it
for me getting this motormaster felt like a full circle moment because the 1st transformer i was ever given was a g1 motormaster i also could not pass up the chance to get a motormaster that scales well with earthrise prime and the trailer being its own thing instead of part of motormaster is pretty much exactly what i wanted so cant complain
personally my only gripe about legacy Menasor is the fact the entire truck and trailer is not the robot and torso mode like the G1 toy and one of the 3rd party figures was(Fanstoys I think? I cant remember all the offerings that well) But now, your review added that sword to the list I know he wouldve been ridiculously huge if the entire truck and trailer formed Menasor, Lazy eyebrow has a scale chart showing how big one would be roughly on his socials, its not really a scale thing for me, I just want a modern remake of the G1 toy without reinventing the wheel like they did with Laser Prime Personally, if I was designing the sword for this figure, I wouldve included two versions, one sized for Menasor and one sized for Motormaster like in Devastation also yes, legacy Bruticus please, I'm not terribly interested in the entire combaticon team personally, I just want Brawl and Onslaught, but I'll pick up the whole teams eventually, as for Menasor, I'm really only interested in getting Motormaster, need more semi truck transformers
I mean that's pretty fantastic too. It's so awful, I love it.
yeah I hate how they don't combine he just wears them as armour
I always believed Megatron ran out of funding so he grabbed 5 dudes and just did what he could with $5 and some pocket lint.
I tended to like the idea that Motormaster could just become "Menasor" by himself as a mildly stronger super mode, but to get the full mileage, he could put the other Stunticons on at the cost of becoming more and more fucked in the head from the constant noise of different voices arguing with eachother.
That would still work with the concept that they are an Aftermarket Combiner. Like the others just power up the combiner frame.
The fact they pulled off mass shifting for the feet so perfectly is a genuine surprise coming from Hasbro
I mean they had to, the design requires if.
I mean hasbro is probably working with the American government to test it
Perfectly? It's awful. The entire robot just grows out of the cab.
Just like G1, almost like it's paying homage too. 😂
They also had the third party company versions to take notes from
Hasbro seems to have a weird talent of taking the dudes with boring designs and giving them one hell of a glow-up with all the details they can sculpt into them.
Yeah, it's impressive, cause the 3P offerings may technically be better, but they don't make them look any more interesting.
Why fans of the Stunticions like the Stunticons:
They're a group of varied personalities and designs that aren't unified at all but work as a ragtag cohesive unit regardless.
Also
G1 didnt make sense, like...ever man.
@@PG2994 wouldn't be surprised if the stunticons are just 5 dudes Megatron engineered to combine. It would be the most fitting for them
motormaster is honestly one of my fan favourite decepticons after astrotrain and octane, tantrum and dirge etc....,and glad he's got a well made and unique engineering toy, this figure is honestly better than his combiner wars brick figure, even tho i still love cw stunticons,i feel like the legacy stunticons cloud work as a new optimus maximus as a call back to that g1 episode were the autobots hide as the stunticons and as a call back to combiner wars
Talking about octane there should be a legacy octane
My pockets hurt...
I think he's saying that it's expensive.
What makes you like Motor Master so much?
@@PerspectiveEnd well, his unique design and personality, the gimmick of the trailer becoming menasor and he just wear the others
Just so you know, the flippy thing on the gun is used so when you have menasor combined so you can extend the turret more upwards to make menasor grab it easier. There’s a port on the tip of the flap that you peg into the trailer hitch port, which also ends up putting the detail on top.
That's interesting I never picked up on that.
@5:26 because most of the 'Cons were aerial while the Autobots were mostly cars and trucks. So they're the 'Cons answer to that.
Yeah but they don't need an answer to that.
That's like saying you need an answer to enemy troops who use wheelchairs.
The title of the legacy bruticus video, Legacy Bruticus: Where's Menasor?
I personally like to imagine the stunticons who become decorations work the same way like mini cons where they aren’t required for the main bot to work but instead they give them a power up or a boost in power
That's basically what I'm saying here, with the whole, the Trailer is the actual combiner thing.
Little did he know Swindle was leaked for 2025 meaning mainline Bruticus!
I mean to be fair this was like a year before the leak.
@@PerspectiveEnd True, but I was thinking like a "you had no idea what was coming" type way.
I mean I can get that, but still. Menasor be lame.
I feel like they should have gone all out for the sword by making it regular size for menasor and making it a giant robot anime sword for motormaster
Remember when Optimus and the gang “disguised” themselves as the Stunticons?
And then they combined into Menasor somehow.
I feel like you may have either been dreaming that, or I'm loosing my mind because I don't remember that.
@@PerspectiveEnd th-cam.com/video/GlFZmxfoN0A/w-d-xo.html
@@PerspectiveEndg1 season 2 episode masquerade I think
By the power of extreme will power Optimus can do anything
Reminder that the G1 toy managed to turn into torso mode, although I don't think the combined mode is as lazy as the animation model's "Slap on cars to shoulders and back of the upper legs", I'd rather have an upgrade kit for legacy motormaster to cover the gaps to just make it his super mode, and I do think motormaster would be cool to tower over the others so he can look better than prime even though prime might have something up his sleve, but if your willing to look up any 3rd party offerings to compare this guy to, the only thing I know of is the magic square one
The G1 Toy also had Motor Master be like 5 times bigger than the rest of the Stunticons.
8:25 that also kind of explains why they don't like each other
Indeed it does.
Save the creatures collide box for a repaint palooza.
So thats 12 for 2 parters, and 6 for a Palooza.
In my lore Motormaster is so simplistic as menasor because he's combining process is just the stunticons attaching to Motormaster to form "Limbs" which is a draining process for him mentally
That's one way to explain it. The way they officially do it is just that none of them like each other enough to work with each other at all.
@@PerspectiveEnd if rumors of studio series are true, I really hope we can get an actually good looking foc bruticus
Glad to see this guy is worth the price, hope legacy stunticons will be a good introduction to those who haven't purchased a combiner before
They seem like they will serve that purpose very well.
That's what I'm doing, decided to collect these ones as my first combiner lol.
Having Wild Rider and Breakdown on the backis actually G1 cartoon accurate believe it or not
Edit: he would be looking up at Legacy Cybertron Metroplex
I am aware that that's accurate to most shots of the show. That doesn't make it cool or look good though. It should be a option for those who want G1 accuracy, but we should also have the option to say no.
I was waiting this review as he, along with Scourge, are my most anticipated figures of the year (should finally be picking them up at TFN next Saturday!!!) so I really enjoyed watching this. And seeing how big he is next to Jetfire makes me so excited to finally get a Commander Decepticon
Like your black big rig daddies?
Yep, he's a Great size in combined mode.
YESSS I FINALLY FOUND THE BACK OF MY ER CLIFFJUMPER
Where was it? This is why Parsforming is bad. You can loose it.
I always felt the Stunticons were meant to be an artificial combiner by design. The trailer is a frame for them all to connect.
Well then you have a better imagination about this guy then I did.
Honestly even tho people are angry about the combiner skeleton personally I think it’s cool like a mech that all the stunticons pilot that’s cool
That's kind of what I like to think of it as now too. They aren't a True Combiner, they are just using a Super Weapon together.
Looking back at this a month later, I really wish you were wrong about breakdown being a retool…
I don't even remember making that prediction.
9:44
Glad ya liked him so much my dude. I agree with it being a great use of the commander slot, it best whens it's doing characters that really need the special scaling considerations.
Yeah, I'm glad to see commanders get back to form.
It helps that this is the worst year for gaming, but the best year for figs.
What's wrong with Gaming this year?
Yeah it's a lot better than I initially anticipated.
The CW one did need an update the most.
Yeah, and Bruticus (with upgraded hands and feet) can be fan moded into a really good chug figure anyways.
Makes sense. Combiner wars Bruticus wasn't that bad, wasn't perfect BUT WAY BETTER THAN WHATEVER THE HELL CW MENASOR WAS
the cars being on the backs of the legs can have two explanations in lore.
while the trailer was being made for their fake combiner, one of the designers fucked up while constructing the legs, flipping them around by mistake.
the second is that it was done to allow better protection to Wildrider and Breakdown, by not having them face whoever is being attacked
I like your first idea. I like that a lot.
@@PerspectiveEnd lore is my favorite answer for shit i dont like.
i personally elect to blame it on Loudpedal
Is there a way to mis-transform the feet so that they don’t look like they’re made of the entire alt mode and therefore stupid? Like just have the rest of the cab that makes up the shin continue into the feet.
Also, does Motor master look any good with Rodimus’ swords? Maybe it will be a good use for it for you.
Ohhh! That's a good idea with the sword.
Unfortunately no there is nothing you can do about the legs. That's the way they look I'm afraid.
Yeah, that's the way you'd have to do it if you don't want the Fauxforming. But then he'd be Massive compared to the cars.
I’m glad commander will finally be an actual $80 worth it figure
Yeah, it's good to see it getting back to it's roots after it so quickly derailed.

Agreed.
"REMEMBER IF YOU EVER BETRAY ME I HAVE INFO IN WHAT YOU DID ON APR 19TH 1998!"
I think they should’ve just released the stunt icons in 1 wave instead all spread out ESPECIALLY when motormaster comes out before 60% of the actual combiner
Also justice for my boy black Jack
@@God-fg5hj Lol. I remember unlocking him in Transformers Battle Tactics. R.I.P Transformers Battle Tactics I had so many good characters I miss that game.
Yeah for sure Motormaster should have been last.
To be fair that battle station is more fun that Rodimus's.
Not gonna lie, scared the piss out of me when you misspoke and said "this really needed some ankle tilts."
What did you hear it as?
@@PerspectiveEnd I didn't notice the text you put at the top of the frame at first, so I thought Motormaster just didn't have ankle tilts there for a second.

Off topic: My main gripes with some Menasor figures that that it doesn't look like a combiner, but rather looks more like cars strapped on to him like armor.
That's not off Topic at all. That's exactly Menasor's Problem. He's a Dude wearing cars as decorations.
What perfect timing! I literally just bought him off BBTS yesterday
Well you can be excited for when it arrives. it's very good. Nothing to dread here.
The bigger bully using his underlings als armor is a very decepticon thing to do
I suppose yeah that is correct.
At least the box has space for all four of the other Stunticons, for the collectors who prefer compact storage in their original boxes.
But that wouldn't be the other Stunticons Original boxes? They'd be in someone else's box?
I figured out you can use the purple panel on the gun combined with the leftover piece from the trailer to form a croch level turret for Menasor, and it is the intentional use for that purple panel it show the turret in the instructions as well.
I mean that purple panel doesn't reach the combined mode eyes though?
I just got my hands on a Warbotron, so I don’t entirely mind that we don’t have a Bruticus. But yes, we need one.

Menasor doesn't scale with Omega? That sucks. One of the reasons I don't buy modern day combiners is because they are all over the place in terms of size. The combiners should be roughly the same height.
@@Dinosaur_News_Center In the original show, every combiner was same height as Omega Supreme, so was Skylynx.
If so that’s how I’m gonna display him even if it makes the leg joint move in a weird way
I have this figure and unfortunately no, he doesn't have knee rotation.
@@SNDWV99 rip well thanks for telling me someones probably gonna come out with a upgrade kit that puts them on the front anyway
@@Luckydragon052 Most likely, I'm sure DNA Designs is whipping some now as we speak lol.
I sure hope so
Unfortunately no. That is not possible. The legs don't rotate at the knees so they only bend the one direction.
I’m glad you called out Menasor’s weapons! They suck. You know this thing will probably get an upgrade kit.
Oh, there's no way it's NOT getting an upgrade kit, that just has to happen.
Great review PerspectiveEnd!! I still have my Combiner Wars Motormaster/Menasor, so I am still not sold on the Legacy Stunticons. I hope the next combiner released after Menasor will be Monstructor. lol Keep on being amazing.
If you like that thing I'm happy for you, I've never heard good things about it, so I expect this thing to be an upgrade.
Defensor has always been the most nothing combiner to me, he just bores me for some reason, so personally I want to see my Favorite Combiner next.
For the bumble bee box set you should do it in a series of two partners, just for tradition sake I guess
That's 13 votes for the 2 parter, and no where near as many for the Palooza.
Yeah it is funny how he got the longest of the guys who get trailers despite being a Winnebago.
So are you voting for 2 parters?
I wonder if there will be an upgrade kit for the trailer to make it bigger and maybe make the combine mode a bit taller
Wouldn't surprise me if they did.
As if I didn't mention that motormaster/menasor lacked articulated hands, that is, open and close them to hold some core to make it look more imposing and that an extra accessory that is in combiner mode would have made it a shield if you can notice the things that leftover from combiner mode
This comment feels like you were building to something that never ended up materializing.
And a shield for him would have been cool.
I could see them giving him deeper elbows too. And I only have the one Sandstorm.
I can't wait to get this thing so badly. It's big, it's clever, and it's the reason that I enjoy the stunticons. I can't wait to get the rest of the set
This thing you don't have yet is the reason you enjoy the Stunticons?
@@PerspectiveEnd the reveal of the legacy take on the characters is what inspired me to look into them more. Ever since dragstrip I've been watching the classic episodes and looking at older toys
I think the top and bottom of the box could be used to store the other stunticons in car mode. Maybe it could point to a box set in the future or a gen selects box set with the g2 colors. Also in terms of the head sculpt, I’m hoping for someone to make an upgrade with the Studio Ox head.
I really hope we get another combiner in Legacy, specifically Liokaiser or Bruticus.
But why would you store the other Stunticons in Motormasters Box?
And yeah, pretty much every other Menasor head is better.
my motor master says arriving Tuesday on amazon, though somethings telling me its going to be delayed, it hasn't shipped yet
Well I hope it arrives on Tuesday, we will see.
@@PerspectiveEnd thank you, i hope so too
I was tempted by motormaster, and dragstrip is okay, but wildrider's backpack was just the excuse I needed to not go in on the whole set. Yeah that's kind of a pettier reason than "I just don't want to spend the money" - which is always a valid reason in itself - but one member of a team throwing me off more than the good members can make up for is spending money to feel regret.
To be fair that is one of the ugliest backpacks I've ever seen on Wildrider.
I actually tried unscrewing the box, and found I couldn't remove it.
Gotta say, not having his limbs be made of cars but decorated with them is kinda sad.
Yeah, it's really lame. Why I always hated him.
My theory on the backside leg attachment is they are still trying to remain genuine to G1. And in G1 shows the cars on the backs of the legs.....
I also would love to see them in the front. But that is just me.
That's exactly why they did it, just like how they gave Blitzwing a Tank Dick.
before this figure was revealed I wasn't one for the stunticons, but the when it was revealed I started checking everyday for ANY leaks on this figure so....... I think im going to get it
I think you will enjoy it.
Have you seen the TF animated motor master figure? I think it looks really cool
for me getting this motormaster felt like a full circle moment because the 1st transformer i was ever given was a g1 motormaster i also could not pass up the chance to get a motormaster that scales well with earthrise prime and the trailer being its own thing instead of part of motormaster is pretty much exactly what i wanted so cant complain
I totally understand how this figure can mean something special to someone who's first figure was Motormaster.
Glad to hear it fills the role so well.
personally my only gripe about legacy Menasor is the fact the entire truck and trailer is not the robot and torso mode like the G1 toy and one of the 3rd party figures was(Fanstoys I think? I cant remember all the offerings that well)
But now, your review added that sword to the list
I know he wouldve been ridiculously huge if the entire truck and trailer formed Menasor, Lazy eyebrow has a scale chart showing how big one would be roughly on his socials, its not really a scale thing for me, I just want a modern remake of the G1 toy without reinventing the wheel like they did with Laser Prime
Personally, if I was designing the sword for this figure, I wouldve included two versions, one sized for Menasor and one sized for Motormaster like in Devastation
also yes, legacy Bruticus please, I'm not terribly interested in the entire combaticon team personally, I just want Brawl and Onslaught, but I'll pick up the whole teams eventually, as for Menasor, I'm really only interested in getting Motormaster, need more semi truck transformers
I call Motormaster's standing problem a lack of heel support. And I's hates me's a lack of heel support.
Yeah, his heels needed to be longer, but if you could have had them angled up it would have been less of a problem.
Who is he looking up at? Titans? Planet-formers? There may be a few :D
Or maybe just slightly taller Combiners. There are ones made out of more guys... Or bigger guys.
