That's pretty awesome actually. Giving old products new life. We used to purchased many G25/G27's over a decade ago and they had some great feedback for the time. Many people still rock these wheelbase's. This is a great upgrade!
G27 served me well for almost a decade. Quite a different beast from the G29 as far as reliability goes. Not the most capable by modern standards, I had to upgrade for professional reasons, but it was a special thing for it's time. Too bad the G29 series are way overpriced nowadays.

I actually got this mod last march. Honestly such a good purchase, I love the grip tape they used. Been a year and it's just as good as new

I also have the logitech g29 and i find it very well i have made several modifications to make it better.
for example, i created a quick release system to replace the steering wheel according to needs. it will not be the perfect steering wheel but for my opinion it is definitely the best entry level
The same Open Wheel Mod works on my G920 since 2 years and i love it!!!
Love this video idea Will! Would be cool to look at some Logitech pedal mods as this is the area that arguably needs improving the most on these sets.
Currently looking to upgrade gear to Asetek but may be worth while upgrading my G920 pedals whilst I save. People get a good laugh out of it mounted on a F-GT Elite at the moment.😂
Hey, I modded my brake pedal for 50 cents. First remove the black rubber buffer, then close the air outlet hole in the lower sleeve with a screw and hot glue, insert a thin round rubber seal in the recess on the outside of the same sleeve and grease it well. Assemble everything - done!
Now the air can no longer escape when you press the brake and the harder you pedal, the more counter pressure you have.

Good to see you covering the budget end of the market. Most of the stuff out there is way out of my price range.
I've tried Acelith, ASP and MVH Studios G29 mods in my time of using a Logitech Wheel and can say that in my opinion MVH Studios create the best F1/GT rim mods by far.

Great review Will. I got the MVH studios F1 wheel and quick release system. It is excellent, I strongly recommend you do a review on that as I have seen nothing that comes close to it.

Have you got the shifter/handbrake that MVH have released? I'm considering getting the quick release system just so I can get an external handbrake and sequential shifter.

Yeah, I really like the wheel but have become very impatient. I really thought something would at least be announced by now if not available.

just a question is there any third party wheel option for logitech g pro racing wheel (F1 style) ?
It looks amazing and definitely would improve the immersion, however, I would rather put that money in the pot to get a DD wheel and a nice set of pedals. Obviously the price difference is a world apart, but I won’t only use it for GT3 races, but vintage racing, drift and rally races as well and the wheels are more easily interchangeable (however expensive).
More budget stuff pleaseeee😁

Hi Will, Jill and Tom. 😊 Ive looked but can’t see or don’t know how to search if you have it( or recommend) G29 (or similar ) force feedback settings? I just find my wheel has no feedback at all. I feel a resistance ( heaviness) but no information at all. I know I’m not going to get road texture but should i get movement when I go over ripple strips? Totally understand it’s not a DD.

Steering wheel looks cool but i switch between ACC and old school manual/clutch cars but ive been meaning to change the wheel shifters or atleast get the magnets 👍
How did you install the paddle shifters it’s a pain in the ass for me
£109 for a thin flat piece of carbon fibre that flexes too much seems a little bit steep, and for something like this not sure why it's not just aluminium. The Moza version for the ES wheel is about half of that.
There's another company called acelith sim design that make sick mods for logitech and other wheels. I bought a GT wheel rim from them for my old thrustmaster.
Using CA glue or super glue on the plastic threads will help preserve stripping those plastic thread out.
anse3d uses 4mm carbon and the grips are so nice
@BoostedMedia Could you do a review on the Logitech G29 quick release mod from moditek? To see if how much it changes the characteristics of the wheel. How easy it is to install. If you recommend. etc etc etc.

POV: I spent 100 bucks on an Ender 3 V2 Printer and now i have every mod imaginable for less than 20 bucks of fillament :)))) (No joke , i have 3 formula wheels , magnetic shifters , magnetic shifter rings for the default shifters , pedal spacers, brake mod , handbrake as well as sequential shifter with arduino) :D
im looking to purchase one of these, but I have the xbox iteration of the logitech g923. It seems as though the hole for the PS button on the bottom center of the wheel is a square hole made to fit the PS4 buttons. Given that I have the xbox version and the xbox button is a circular button/hole, will this square hole work???
the g920 version they sell has the circular hole to fit the xbox button, but it doesnt have the necessary holes for the rotating spin wheel & +/- buttons on the left hand side of the wheel

I just can't.... I hate this company for selling the same wheel for 17 years. Adding a few buttons and then selling it as new. The G923 was the ultimate slap in the face.
Worst is that people still buy these wheels NEW. Why???? You can literally get the same wheel used

People "hate" a company which sells a product which doesnt need a lot of improvement to begin with? Especially for the low price point this product is aimed for?
Toothbrushes dont improve as they dont have too. Lighters dont improve as well.
With everything in this world getting more expensive by the year it is impressive to see the likes of logitech keeping the price relatively low.

@@pedrosilvamusician with an ever increasing number of simracers the last years its simply not possible to supply used G's to everyone. Its math.
To have enough used G's on the market you need more people to buy them new first.

Gmod do a great magnetic shifter mod. Gives alittle resistance but has a nice locking feel.
Only problem is the H pattern is 3D printed and brittle.
So I went to 3drap and bought a steel h pattern cover plate that you just glue on over the magnetic mod.
TH-cam isn’t letting me post links but I’ll try some wizardry.

That very thin joint next to the thumbs is a very obvious point of failure over time. Just look on how it twists with just bare hands torque, imagine on the wheel base playing games.

I was considering spending £400 on a thrustmaster t300rs gt edition when there's nothing wrong with my g29.. you may have just saved me some money and headache from the Mrs!!
Would consider buying a T300 used. These mods while cool won't make the wheel better than already is. And for the money you spend on buying these upgrades you might as well get a T300 or better. I boughy mine for 180€ 2 years ago
@Pedro Silva I think I will get the t300. It looks and sounds miles better than my 7 year old g29. The detachable wheels look like a bonus, too.. just those stock pedals look like they're going to snap 😂

The only upgrade you should buy for Logitech are to buy a better base
Good video but over £100 for a wheel rim when you can get alot better for around £30. Cost of living crisis buddy just not worth it

I just can't support these rim mods. They are so expensive (rightfully so due to the quality) especially since you can get T300 for not much more than these upgrades used (no need to buy new imho). They are super cool mods but it's still a cheap entry level wheel. Only the shifter mods could make sense since they are cheap and help a bit with the feel of the wheel but the rims... not really. Whilst the T300 is still an entry level wheel it's miles better than any mod you can make on the G29... Also, while I love logitech (I own 2 mice and 2 kbs from them) I don't really like the idea of literally selling the same wheel and pedals for over 15 years, with some small upgrades in between raising the price compared to the original each time.
I dislike my G923, especially for what I love, drifting. It's just a pain to have it counter steer fast enough, since in a lot of cases it can't.
The thrustmater t300rd is much better in my option for drifting as it's acceleration and max rotation speed is much better which also helps for rally
