Wow, seeing a modern baseball stadium in the Jack London Square area seems WONDERFUL!

Brodie, Thanks for publicizing this crucial info. I have been following the new stadium story for a few years, but mistakenly thought HT was needed by the port and its related workers. I hope this info gets widely disseminated. I loved your ironic tone regarding letting the Port speak for itself rather than letting others (like Chronicle sports columnists) speak for what the Port needs. We are fighting our competitor Giants-business and its fans and supporters. But with your continued commentary, we might win this one.

Didn't the Port of Oakland pretty much make this known prior to SPACs vote in March? I believe they did yet it still fell on deaf ears for the majority of SPAC members who either abstained or voted no

Whether there is space or not. If they can regulate traffic so that it’s safe that would be cool. There’s already traffic from the truckers driving through the port. Having an extra thousands of ppl driving through can be even more dangerous. They’re also aggressive drivers. Imagine having having a few beers and then driving at night. It hard to see the chassis and plus there’s blind spots bc they park on the sides so you can’t see stop the signs. Ppl have already gotten into some bad accidents.

Makes sense to re-purpose HT. The BCDC will approve re-designation of HT, but I see the city and county not wanting to be on the hook for any cost overruns or wanting more mow cost housing. The A’s will walk away and move to LV.

If Oakland was in any other state, HT Park wouldn't just be approved by now, It would've opened this season.

Right because its the state of California preventing this from happening not the asshole companies filing lawsuits.

I dont understand why anything "San Francisco" or "Bay Area" has anything to do with or have any weight into any decision that OAKLAND needs to make for OAKLAND ALONE. Not yelling but making it stand out. Also, despite wishing they could have torn down the current Coliseum and having rebuilt it or a Coliseum City (as once proposed and supported by former Mayor Quan) I'm all in for Howard Terminal. The A's have long needed a BASEBALL ONLY facility and we are amongst the top 5 most historically rich MLB teams in baseball history even though most people dont recognize us in that light. We didn't win 9 World Series and have had Legends in the game from Philly to Oakland, out of nowhere, just saying. I know there is much involved with making decisions of this magnitude, but to me it is a no brainer... you keep your last sports franchise, create jobs, enrich a dead area of the city, expanding Jack London Square west and to downtown for much needed connectivity and revitalization, provide more housing and commercial space, lodging, and all of the revenue it will all bring in, in the long run. Plus all the benefits Brodie mentioned from the Port of Oakland. STOP BS'N AND JUST BUILD IT ALREADY!!!!

Again, you need an A's management that will make competent use of the new ball park. It appears to me that these days, A's ownership and management are satisfied to let the A's remain a 3ed class team in a small market and pocket their share of the league equity funding.
