I work 2 jobs with 1 days off per week plus I have a family. It kept me extremely busy but I did it! It saved me a crap load of money especially because my job has tuition reimbursement
Thank you for this video. I've been an RN since 2011 and have just slowly started looking into RN to BSN program or possible NP. Chamberlain does seem too expensive! A friend of mine did go with GCU, and luckily she got through it with no issue. I'm definitely going to look into UTA.

My job has a partnership with chamberlain and GCU so I get a discount but idk if the discount will help( kinda pricey) I also get tuition reimbursement after 6 months so that will help. But I’m kinda leaning towards western gov for the price and time. I much rather take test Then essays. But UTA I think would be a good second option for me
I just finished my RN-BSN at UTA. Definitely doable and I have no regrets. I considered WGU but the pass/no pass system bothered me because I want to get into an NP program and a 3.0 would have been too risky. Congrats.
Chriss O congrats on finishing you’re program. I wanted to do UTA so bad but they wanted me to take 18 classes instead of 10 because my credits didn’t transfer over. To me this made no sense because I had a previous bachelors degree so I didn’t understand why my history or math didn’t transfer over to their history and math in addition to other classes. I would have been taking almost 3 years to finish my RN-BSN instead of 1 year which lead to me switching to GCU. So financially and time wise I had to change. But I have a friend whose doing it and she is doing fine so it’s different with everyone.
Nurse Mel 😮... they tried to be slick with me concerning the classes too but I called them and made sure I got answers. Honestly the staff are not the most consistent at times. It takes luck and I had to talk to several people before they cleared some of my classes. I almost had to take art, and US politics a second time.. lol. I hope this new program works out for you. 😀
Chriss O wowwww. So it’s not just me. I did the same I called them a few times but I felt like if I’m doing this much work just to get credits transferred then this school was not for me. I struggled to get into nursing school and I should not struggle to get into a bsn program. But thank you so much for the well wishes and thanks for telling me your story. This is what is concerning to me the pass / no pass system it’s not possible to get higher than a 3.0 and for many schools that’s not a competitive grade
Thank you. Honestly I can't really speak on any accelerated programs because i did not attend an accelerated program. But I do know that its extremely tough and i am not sure if you can work because classes are fulltime with no breaks for the duration of the program. So if you are financially struggling like I was, it may be hard to balance full-time classes for over a year with a full-time job. I did the ASN program and worked basically full-time with summer/winter breaks in between and that was still a struggle because you have to consider the times your commuting, studying, etc which is like full-time within itself lol But everyone is different! it depends on what you think you can handle and still be successful.
You're a bit misinformed about WGU. Probably because of all the TH-cam videos out there. My RN-BSN program had 6 exams (I had to take Micro again cause I took it over 20 years ago). The rest are all papers. You don't test out of anything. You take the exam when you're ready. You can transfer to 100's of post Master's NP's, CRNA school, DNP. I am 4 months into the RN-MSN program and just received my BSN. A BSN in 4 months is pretty awesome.

So can I ask you if you had other classes to take besides your nursing classes? Was it hard? I'm looking at this school and program.

I called GWU and an adviser told me the program is 6900 and 1 year. That's awkward. Bcus I heard it cost less and it's doable in 6 months.

True i agree wgu i will be starting in jan2021 and my rnbsn 2yrs. Because i came in with no as degree so thats still good and i did my research.
