Sat Nam, Namaste 🙏. Is there an alternative you can recommend for the back platform? I was unable to lift my hips off the floor due to a structural limitation in my shoulders. Secondly, due to that same limitation, I find it painful and difficult to do Venus mudra behind the back while leaning forward, is there any alternatives or advice you might share? Thank you, from one universal manifestation to another.
Sat nam, dear Jake, thank you for your questions. Yoga mudra (hands in Venus mudra, lifting arms up behind you) is great for helping to open up and create space in your shoulders. While you work your way into that posture (be very patient!), you can hold a strap, belt, even a long sock (one that you don't mind getting stretched!) behind you, between the hands, and very gradually, day by day, millimetre by millimetre, inch the hands towards each other along the belt/strap. Eventually, holding the strap behind you, you may be able to lift the arms - a 1mm arm lift from the back is fantastic progress. For the back platform, try tucking a bolster or layer some pillows or blocks beneath your hips and torso to get that lift through the body and take the pressure off the shoulders. I hope those suggestions help. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Lots of love ♥️
