Selling courses on Udemy doesn't make much money because Udemy sells your courses at a huge discounted price. Also, unless there is high demand for your topic or you are a reputable trainer with great credentials, the earning is peanuts.

Making freelance writing sound like it's the next big thing in 2022 is completely ungrounded in reality and instills false hopes in your viewers. LOL......I'm retired and sell part time on line....I make more than $50 an hour. Maybe you need to speak to some real people that resell. Very lucrative. I don't sell anything that I won't make at least $20 net profit....most times I just use those items as filler. The key is to sell items that are easy to list, (i.e. it takes less than 10 minutes from start to listed), store and ship. It takes a lot of experience to get there....but I've been selling passively since 2009. I retired early at 57.......I'm now 66......the sky's the limit, with reselling. If I wanted to earn more I could put in more hours. I don't want to.

I had to go back and listen again. It was 8 hours total divided between the workers, not every worker working for 8 hours each. For example: Worker 1 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60 Worker 2 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60 Worker 3 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60 Worker 4 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60 Total - 8 hours = $240 Hope this makes sense and was helpful!

Hey Gillian, just wondering (no critics at all), maybe I got it wrong. I thought you'd give scalable ideas but how is writing or editing podcasts scalable? There are just so many hours a day I can do that and after I did it I never get paid for it again... so that's why I thought: how are these things scalable?
Yeah she did say you can start off editing podcasts which isn't scalable and has a consistent salary... Maybe you could slowly though increase the salary as you have more experience from $20/hr to max $50/hr but over time you would delegate all the work to others

my boss got mad at me , he was complaining he was working too hard , so i started helping out the competition , i said to my boss i gave some of our business to the competition. he got mad at me, wonder why that , was , its less work for my boss if more customers go to the competition .

Great video. I'm just confused by her math - 7:51 why is the out-of-pocket only $240? wouldn't it be $30 x number of employees x number of hours worked? Trying to figure out how to make that business model work while delegating roles....
Yeah.. I was thinking the exact same thing. So it's less profitable then it sounds..
I had to go back and listen again. It was 8 hours total divided between the workers, not every worker working for 8 hours each.
For example:
Worker 1 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60
Worker 2 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60
Worker 3 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60
Worker 4 - 2 hours x $30/hr = $60
Total - 8 hours = $240
Hope this makes sense and was helpful!

Hey Gillian, just wondering (no critics at all), maybe I got it wrong. I thought you'd give scalable ideas but how is writing or editing podcasts scalable? There are just so many hours a day I can do that and after I did it I never get paid for it again... so that's why I thought: how are these things scalable?

She basically suggested that you start a writing/editing agency so you can Delegate the tasks.
Yeah she did say you can start off editing podcasts which isn't scalable and has a consistent salary... Maybe you could slowly though increase the salary as you have more experience from $20/hr to max $50/hr but over time you would delegate all the work to others
